Who Says I'm Not a Proper Adventurer?
Chapter 151: Humanoid T-Rex
Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Humanoid T-Rex
The monster’s instinct to prey on the weak and fear the strong kicked in, allowing it to make an immediate judgment.
It chose the weakest, most vulnerable-looking prey on the battlefield as its primary target.
The Mutated Giant opened its cavernous mouth and let out a deafening roar.
Its stout legs flexed with sudden power. Heavy footsteps sent water splashing everywhere in the shallows as its massive body, like an out-of-control battle tank, launched a savage charge toward Bai Yan.
"Think you can just get past?"
Lance sneered, his gaze instantly sharpening.
"Did you ask me first?"
The words had barely left his lips.
The muscles in Lance’s legs bulged as he blurred into a swift, dark shadow.
Without a hint of fear, he instantly cut into the Giant’s terrifying path of attack.
Facing the moving mountain of flesh, Lance leaped, his powerful torso twisting violently in mid-air.
His right leg, like a spring compressed to its limit, whipped upwards with an ear-piercing whistle that tore through the air.
At that moment, his internal Ethereal Energy Pool let out a violent, burning roar.
He had poured every last bit of Ether Energy into this attack—Azure Dragon Extreme Intent Style: Dragon Leaping Tail.
"THUD!"
Lance’s powerful right leg slammed into the Mutated Giant’s thick midsection.
But he didn’t hear the crisp crack of breaking bones he expected.
Lance felt as if his kick had landed on a thick, solid tire.
The moment it was struck, the Giant’s dark green, rubbery skin rippled outwards like waves on water.
This bizarre method of dissipating force completely nullified Lance’s thunderous blow.
Having taken no real damage, the Giant let out an angry, low roar.
It swung a massive backhand at the airborne Lance, the motion generating a terrifying gust of wind.
Unable to dodge in time, Lance could only quickly cross his arms before his chest to block the blow.
A muffled boom echoed by the lake.
Lance felt his arms go numb as the brute force sent him flying several meters back.
After landing, his feet plowed two long furrows in the soft shallows before he barely managed to stabilize himself.
Fortunately, his all-out Dragon Leaping Tail had successfully halted the Mutated Giant’s terrifying charge.
The spectral image of the Witch floating in mid-air couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath at the sight.
’It seems this historical projection Array has really been pushed to its limits by this black-haired boy.’
’Normally, the Demons that spawn wouldn’t be able to withstand his Body Techniques at all.’
’So the Array directly generated this Mutated Forest Giant, a creature with nearly all its Specialties stacked into defense and insane regenerative abilities.’
’Its sole purpose was to completely shut down Lance’s fluid, effortless rhythm of mowing down his foes.’
’To fulfill the objective: "Resist the Demon."’
Its charge blocked, the Giant grew even more frenzied.
It beat its chest, let out another roar, and, swinging its thick arms, launched another fierce charge toward Lance.
Facing this terrifying monster that conventional methods couldn’t harm.
Lance had no intention of testing the waters; a flash of decisiveness crossed his eyes.
’Dragon Form!’
"HAAA!"
As his Life Value began to drain at a terrifying speed.
A cloud of white, high-temperature vapor, so dense it was almost solid, erupted violently from Lance’s mouth and nose.
His once-black eyes instantly contracted, transforming into two Dark Gold Vertical Pupils.
The muscles on his bare upper body expanded rapidly.
Streaks of light like molten lava flowed swiftly beneath his skin before solidifying on the surface into a layer of thick, translucent Energy Dragon Scales.
The surrounding temperature began to rise sharply.
Even the shallow lake water under his feet couldn’t withstand the sudden burst of high temperature and began to boil with a piercing SIZZLE.
Vast clouds of white steam rose up, completely shrouding the terrifying pressure radiating from his back.
The Mutated Forest Giant had already charged before Lance, bringing a gale with it.
It raised its right fist high, the thick muscles of its arm bulging, and smashed down with the terrifying force of a falling mountain.
And facing this giant fist that fell like a meteorite.
Lance, now in his Dragon Form, was expressionless. Not a single trace of Fear could be seen in his dark gold vertical pupils.
He too clenched his right fist. With his legs rooted to the spot, refusing to dodge or evade, he threw a violent punch upward to meet the blow.
Azure Dragon Extreme Intent Style: Top Dragon Horn.
The two completely disproportionate fists, one large and one small, collided head-on in mid-air.
BOOM!
A deafening, muffled boom spread throughout the entire Jade Star Lake.
A visible white shockwave erupted outwards from the point of impact where their fists met.
The Ethereal Burn effect from the Dragon Scales took hold instantly. The Giant’s thick, dark green skin immediately let out a sizzling, scorching sound as foul-smelling white smoke billowed from it.
Despite the terrifying collision of Power.
Not only did Lance not retreat a single step, but his leather boots also sank deep into the wet sand.
The natural Armor bonus granted by his Dragon Form, stacked with his two powerful Specialties, raised the Hardness of his arm to an incredible degree for someone of his level.
Despite the immense shock of the recoil, the bones in Lance’s arm were completely unharmed.
But the Giant was a completely different story.
The crisp sound of the monster’s huge hand bones cracking and splintering could be heard clearly in the air.
Lance’s intuition had been right.
While in his fully unleashed Dragon Form, his overall physical abilities were already a notch stronger than an average Professional Level Adventurer’s.
This Giant fledgling, which had only barely crossed the threshold into the Professional Level by relying on a lucky mutation, was no match for him in this inhuman state during a head-on clash.
The spectral image of the Witch, who had been floating in the sky, was now so surprised her mouth formed a perfect ’O’.
’She had just tried so hard to raise her assessment of Lance’s combat power.’
’But this genius Witch never would have imagined...’
’...that he, an Ordinary person who hadn’t even officially taken a Profession, could engage in a furious, head-on battle with a genuine Professional Level Demon—and even come out ahead in a contest of Power.’
In that brief instant after he established his advantage in the clash.
Lance’s follow-up attacks came one after another like a violent storm.
’His sharp combat instincts quickly determined the optimal solution.’
’Since blunt-force attacks were ineffective against its rubbery skin, he would switch to more lethal tearing strikes.’
Lance instantly curled the five fingers of his left hand, gathering dense Ether Energy at his fingertips.
Azure Dragon Extreme Intent Style - Flame-Splitting Claw!
With a gut-wrenching RIIIP.
Lance’s left hand, like a red-hot blade through butter, sliced open the Giant’s broad chest without any resistance.
Foul-smelling blood gushed out.
But Lance immediately felt the Giant’s terrifying, unnatural regenerative power.
Almost the very instant the flesh was torn open by his claws, the edges of the wound began to writhe madly, countless tendrils of flesh weaving together in an attempt to forcibly heal.
This terrifying combination of defense and self-healing would be despair-inducing for any ordinary Adventurer.
Unfortunately for this Mutated Giant, it had run into Lance today.
In almost the same second he tore open its chest.
Lance’s fingers plunged into the wound, his steel-like digits latching onto the Giant’s thick ribs.
He put his back into it and yanked his arm outwards.
