Who Needs a CEO? I Choose Stardom
Chapter 383 - 316: Starting a New Trend
"Sigh. What I’m about to say might sound a bit ungrateful, but I have to say it."
At nine in the morning, the group left the small town where the Lu Family lived and arrived in Jingjiang City.
Ni Bingyan leaned back in her seat and sighed at the camera.
"When I’m busy with work, I look forward to traveling. But after traveling so much, even when no one’s telling me where I have to go and I can do whatever I want... honestly, I’m starting to lose my enthusiasm."
But she was a professional. With a shift in mindset, she treated it like a job and immediately found her energy again.
"I don’t feel like dealing with the hassle of going abroad right now, that would waste a day or two just on travel. Today, I want to try something new and exciting. I wonder if you guys would be interested?"
"Go on, what’s your plan for today?"
Many fans had grown to love the conversations between her and the director, so for the sake of the show, Pei Jin no longer stuck to the original "solo travel" rule.
After all, everyone knew her so-called "solo travel" involved a camera crew. Pretending there was no one else around would just be insulting the audience’s intelligence.
"Look, our country, with its 9.6 million square kilometers, is just massive! Even though my job requires me to travel all over, there’s no way I could visit every single place in my lifetime. So then I thought, what if I tried a ’special forces-style’ trip in a very short amount of time?"
Unable to think of any other good ideas, Ni Bingyan, a transmigrator, recalled a popular trend from her past life.
This kind of trend didn’t exist in this world yet, so why not start one?
Fearing backlash after the show aired, she offered a preemptive justification.
The motherland is just too big! If you want to see more places, you have to get creative, right?
"Special forces-style travel? How does that work, exactly?"
"Here, I’ve made a detailed list."
Ni Bingyan was already prepared, cheerfully pulling a few sheets of A4 paper from her bag.
Pei Jin hadn’t known about her plan in advance, only that she said she was going to Jingjiang City after leaving the Lu Family. Seeing her pull out a plan, she quickly took it.
"Two cities in one day? Three provinces in three days? Holy crap! This schedule is timed down to the minute! Are you even treating yourself like a human?"
"It’s a challenge! It’s not about anything deep. The main goal is just to say I’ve been there. I’m not looking for in-depth tourism, just want to check in and commemorate it. In a limited time, visit the most attractions and eat the most food!"
The more Ni Bingyan looked at her plan, the more excited she got!
"Okay, we’re at the first attraction. You can just drop me off by the side of the road!"
Ni Bingyan checked her belongings—ID, water bottle, snacks, phone, power bank—and got out of the car with her backpack.
After getting out, she decisively scanned a shared bike and rode straight for Xiang Bi Shan.
Once there, she didn’t buy a ticket to go inside. She just found a spot where she could see the mountain from a distance, furiously snapped a bunch of photos, and then, without delay, got back on the bike and kept going.
A short while later, she arrived at Chuanshan Park.
Mingyue Peak, Guilin Little Erhai, Chuan Rock...
She checked them off her list one by one.
No matter where she went, there was no aimless wandering. Her goal was clear: check in and move on.
She was like a human radar. In places where she could ride, she quickly scanned for a bike; in places she couldn’t, she power-walked the whole way.
The cameraman following her was exhausted and couldn’t keep going after just two hours.
They had no choice but to swap him out.
Luckily, since they were filming domestically this time, the travel budget was smaller, and they had brought more staff.
After leaving Chuanshan Park, she saw it was almost noon and turned onto a street in Shi Garden for lunch.
First, a bowl of Jingjiang Rice Noodles was a must. Whoa, so many toppings! A little bit of this, a little bit of that... an old man nearby took one look at her combination and knew she must be from out of town.
He struck up a conversation and chatted with her warmly. After finishing her noodles, she left and ducked into a shop selling pickled snacks, weighing out a small bowl of sweet and sour fruits and vegetables to eat as she walked.
Once she was full, she didn’t linger. She left Shi Garden and headed straight for Qixing Rock.
Qixing Rock, Luotuo Mountain, Crescent Rock...
Another round of methodical snapping. CLICK CLICK CLICK.
The whole process seemed busy but not chaotic.
This cameraman was probably not as sturdy; he was calling for a replacement after just an hour and a half.
Another cameraman was swapped in. They arrived at Diecai Mountain. Same old routine.
After all that running around, she checked her watch. Well, it was time for dinner.
After a tiring day, she had to have a good dinner.
She ordered a few Jingjiang dishes at East and West Alley, drank a bowl of oil tea until she was burping, and then went to check out the nearby snack stalls.
And then, Liang Jiang Si Hu was still waiting.
The Sun and Moon Twin Towers at night, set against the Jingjiang city nightscape, were absolutely stunning!
When she had seen enough, she rushed to the high-speed rail station, picked up her ticket, and boarded the train. After sleeping for a little over three hours on a sleeper bunk, she arrived at Juzizhou, rubbing her eyes.
What happened next was even more insane.
Because Ni Bingyan had hit eighteen attractions in one day and successfully boarded a high-speed train to Jiangcheng at 11:30 PM.
An hour and a half later, Ni Bingyan arrived at the Jiangcheng high-speed rail station, took a taxi to a hotel, checked in, and slept comfortably from 1:30 AM to 7:00 AM.
After waking up, she devoured a free breakfast at the hotel and set off again.
Today wasn’t as exaggerated; she only checked in at 13 attractions.
At ten o’clock that night, she successfully boarded a flight back to Beijing.
Her three-day, two-night trip was packed to the brim.
After following her the entire way, the whole film crew was on the verge of collapse!
Especially the eight cameramen who had followed her in shifts—all of them were too exhausted to speak.
"These past three days, I feel like I’ve been living in a dream!"
The next morning, the group arrived at Beijing Airport. Wei Shuojie came to pick them up and saw Ni Bingyan collapse into her seat the moment she got in the car. Thinking she was sick, Wei Shuojie got very anxious, which is when Duanmu Li said the previous line.
"What on earth did you all do?"
Before every trip, to ensure things went smoothly, Ni Bingyan would report her itinerary to Wang Xi in advance so she could handle logistics. However, for the sake of the show’s effect, no one else besides Wang Xi and the logistics team was in the loop.
This episode’s idea had been spontaneously thought up while at her uncle’s house, so Ni Bingyan hadn’t had time to tell Wei Shuojie, which is why she didn’t know about it.
"Nothing too special. In just three days, she single-handedly wore out eight cameramen."
"What?"
’What kind of savage remark is that?’
Duanmu Li then proceeded to describe the experiences of the past three days and two nights.
"No wonder I see her power-walking tens of thousands of steps every day. This is insane!"
"Insane? This is a whole new level of insane, okay?!"
Wei Shuojie once again felt the urge to clutch her head in her hands.
Once this episode aired, the public reaction would surely be extremely polarized.
Supporters would think it was awesome! Detractors would definitely think she was just looking for trouble and hadn’t truly experienced the beauty of travel.
"Oh well, what’s filmed is filmed. Controversy creates buzz, so it’s not a bad thing. We’ll just consider it a contribution to the national tourism industry."
Wei Shuojie sighed and had the car driven directly to a women’s beauty and wellness spa they frequented.
"Get her a good massage, especially her feet!"
OUCH!
The moment she took off her shoes, they saw blisters on the soles of her feet!
Wei Shuojie’s heart ached seeing that!
It felt like her own personal money tree was suffering from an iron deficiency, its leaves turning yellow.
