Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?

Chapter 1840: Decree Stone Tablet

  • Next Chapter

To be honest, Leon initially imagined the Decree Stone Tablet as merely a larger version of the Decree Stone, at most resembling an elongated stone monument.

But when it appeared before him, it felt like the Sain Dungeon was telling him that his imagination was simply too barren.

In front of him appeared a large puddle of some black gooey polymer, taller than three or four of him stacked together.

This black and disgusting-looking substance, which still looked gross even after hardening, was introduced in his Hunter’s Manual as the “Decree Stone Tablet.”

“What on earth is this?”

Leon was so shocked that he spoke in an inverted sentence.

Could he say that this thing looked like the kind of strawberry tart often seen in public toilets? And it’s the kind of strawberry tart that had withstood the test of time in Ring Seal City.

Once he linked this thing to that, Leon couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe toward it.

The older the stronger, that’s what they mean by this kind of situation, isn’t it?

But when he took a deep breath, held it, and cautiously approached, he discovered that the so-called Decree Stone Tablet was actually a slab revealed at the foot of this massive black unknown entity.

This looked much more normal, just like a stone tablet, nothing strange about it.

So why arrange a strawberry tart here?

Leon couldn’t figure it out, but he found it quite Sain-like.

“No translation this time?”

The Decree Stone Tablet had inscriptions he couldn’t understand, but when he touched it, no Magic Words appeared as a translation, which was somewhat unexpected.

However, another line of words quickly appeared on the tablet.

[You don’t need to break the curse]

“Of course, I’m not cursed.”

Leon stood up, looked around, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

He could finally repay his good buddy Lapu!

It’s no exaggeration to say that Lapu’s favorability in Leon’s mind could rank in the top three among all the residual shadow characters in Sain Dungeon, and with a bit more effort, it might even surpass Solar’s ranking.

It’s a pity others can’t come to Ring Seal City en masse, or else he’d really like to promote Lapu’s goodness.

Leon walked back along the path he came with light steps.

The last time he saw Lapu was inside the walls of Ring Seal City.

Lapu was leaning against the wall, sighing to himself, completely unaware of Leon’s approach.

“Why did I end up here searching all this way… damn, no, I am relentless, relentless, how can I give up here….”

“Ah… please, someone tell me what exactly I should do….”

Seeing such a scene, Leon knew that Lapu was suffering from the torment of memory loss.

If it was just ordinary amnesia, things might have been better, but Lapu was an Undead Man, and the consequences of amnesia for an Undead Man were severe. Memories carried a lot of things, including their life’s pursuits and goals.

If they lose their pursuit goals, an Undead Man’s humanity would rapidly diminish, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they turned into an Animated Corpse at any time.

However, when he encountered Lapu at the outskirts of Ring Seal City, Lapu wasn’t like this.

“It’s you, I didn’t expect to run into you here. We were both heading towards the same goal and made it here safely, really makes me happy.”

“I still have the last batch of wine in hand, let’s have a drink to my goal being achieved, to your mission being completed, and to the luck of meeting again!”

“Come on, let’s drink!”

When he met Lapu in the outer part, Lapu was still the enthusiastic person pulling him to drink.

But not long after, he transformed into this discouraged state.

This abrupt change in demeanor gave Leon a psychological shadow.

Because the last person who suddenly went from lively to gloomy was Solar, and then he went on to put that Sun Worm on his face.

If he couldn’t recover his memories next, Lapu wouldn’t go put a stone on his head and stubbornly claim it was the Decree Stone Tablet, right?

The thought of this situation, which was quite possible in the Sain Dungeon, made Leon shiver uncontrollably, and he quickly put aside all his exploration work to focus entirely on searching for the Decree Stone Tablet.

The search along the way was fraught with difficulties, filled with unexpected situations.

He crossed streets patrolled by a whole squad of Ring Seal Knights, swamps filled with humanity sediments, and ruins haunted by Giant Judges.

In the end, the thing that happened one step away from the discovery of the Decree Stone Tablet was the most unexpected for Leon.

What does it mean to use Mimicry to become humanity and pass through a dense crowd of monsters, without being hit or hitting back, to reach inside the walls and awaken a hidden door?

This short sentence baffled him for several days.

All along the way, Leon had been searching for the Decree Stone Tablet, to which the Sain Dungeon left admonitions as hints.

Although the admonitions weren’t very conspicuous, if a dedicated person could find them all, they would be on the correct path.

Leon had followed the admonitions step by step, and in the end, he was sure the Decree Stone Tablet was nearby, but he couldn’t find any other path, as if stuck in a dead end.

The only clue was a line of Magic Words that appeared on the wall inside the city wall.
