Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?

Chapter 1777 1047: An Unforeseen Storyline

An exchange?

When he heard this, Tami was taken aback for a moment, then immediately realized that their captain's clever mind was at work again.

Everyone around showed an expression of intense interest. Everyone knew that once Luluwo starts working on something incomprehensible.

It would either be a miraculous success or a disastrous failure.

"Woo..."

The Young Wolf Shif crouched down, ready to attack at any moment, but surprisingly, it didn't attack Luluwo right away.

"I tried to communicate back then too, but it just bit me," Chaos muttered to himself, puzzled: "Is this guy sexist?"

"You want a wolf to understand what sexism is?" Ais looked at him strangely, and sure enough, the Wolfman beside her glanced over, the look in its eyes wasn't too friendly.

Okay, this is a fantasy world full of sword and magic, so a wolf actually can understand the concept of sexism.

Ais shrank her neck in surrender.

Luluwo twirled the Silver Necklace with her finger, saying sincerely:

"You know the effect of the Silver Necklace, it's very useful in the fight against the Abyss. Do you know how many more Abyss Monsters it can help kill?"

She didn't explicitly state that leaving the Silver Necklace with the Ulashiro survivors as a Protective Shield that could shatter at any time was a waste.

"Awoo woo..."

Then Shif suddenly made a hostile sound, and its body turned into a gray shadow rushing forward.

"Captain!" The others were about to make a move, but Luluwo motioned for them to stop.

She slightly sidestepped to avoid Shif's pounce. When it turned around to use its huge jaws on her, she swung her arm and used a chain hidden in her cloak to hook onto a nearby pillar, pulling herself away from Shif.

Shif's attempts to hit her with Sword Qi all missed, as Luluwo slipped away in the air like an eel, causing it to growl in frustration.

"Don't be so hasty."

Luluwo flashed what she considered a mature woman's smile, although it looked more like a mischievous girl's demeanor.

Outwardly she was smiling brightly, but inside she was already calculating her next argument.

Since Shif didn't charge at her immediately like it did with Chaos and the others, it meant her previous words had an effect, and it was waiting for the right answer.

If persuading with the ability to kill more Abyss Monsters didn't work, then...

"You wouldn't want Artorias to be attacked by the Abyss either, right? The Master of the Abyss is terrifying, and without the Silver Necklace, he might get severely wounded. Let us borrow it for a bit, and we'll chase you to return it."

This time, Luluwo chose to bring up Shif's master, hoping Artorias's weight would be heavy enough.

But it seemed the situation didn't improve with her words.

Shif ran a short distance and leapt high towards her, forcing her to twist and swing herself in the air, dodging its attacks relentlessly.

"The captain looks like a cat toy stick..." Tami commented.

Shif's attention was entirely focused on Luluwo, proving her choice to carry the Curse of Chapelli talisman wasn't in vain.

[Curse of Chapelli]

[Mad Portrait with Crushed Eyes]

[The portrait's barely detectable smile carries a flattery that makes the wearer more susceptible to enemy attacks]

[A man named Chapelli suffered a punishment where his eyes were crushed due to slander. Legend says his sockets later housed Mad Fire]

This was a unique item found in the adventurer market. Even the seller didn't know how they got it, only mentioning they became incredibly unlucky and constantly besieged by Monsters after getting it, so they hurried to rid themselves of the unlucky talisman.

Who would willingly choose to make themselves more susceptible to Monster attacks?

Of course, it would be MT and Luluwo.

The item's effect is even better than the Enemy Attraction Skull!

"Looks like persuasion didn't work either." Chaos patted the Wolfman next to him and said, "We'd better prepare for a fight with Artorias."

"Are we going to fight the Abyss Wanderer?" Dal got inexplicably excited, fearing his excitement might ruin his calm and handsome persona.

"I choose to believe in the captain." Tami said resolutely.

Elsewhere, Luluwo, while dodging like a dog toy, was still thinking.

She had already wielded two seemingly flawless reasons that stood for justice and personal sentiment, but Shif ignored them all. What else could she say?

She noticed that even in the midst of its urgent attacks, Shif never forgot to protect the huddled survivors of Ulashiro.

It seemed this little wolf really cares about the survivors.

Suddenly, Luluwo had an idea, one she had thought of long ago, and now seemed the perfect time to use it.

"How about we exchange for this!"

She suddenly pulled something off her finger, and everyone looked over to see it was a ring.

It was a specialty of the Wolf Knight of the Painting World, a Wolf Ring that can temporarily fend off the Abyss.

If Shif's reason for reclaiming the Silver Necklace was to protect the survivors, then the Wolf Ring could achieve the same effect, albeit with a shorter duration than the Silver Necklace.
