Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1773 - 1045: Infrastructure, Sain Style
I am an employee at the Resurrection House, on my way to work now.
Scameroon, Hepa Town.
A middle-aged man in a white robe walked down the street, heading to the Resurrection House one block away.
Besides working at the Resurrection House, he also ran a small clinic, so he could be considered a doctor. He liked being called doctor because it sounded very dignified.
The doctor walked down the street, glancing left and right, occasionally pausing as if the street’s scenery had endless allure for him.
"Step aside, don’t block the way."
The voice from behind made him quickly move a few steps to the side, and soon after, he saw workers carrying a white stone sculpture pass by, panting heavily, with a pungent odor of sweat wafting into his nostrils.
The doctor recognized the sculpture and couldn’t help but ask the workers, "When can it be installed at 36 Nite Street? I’ve been waiting at home in advance."
"It’s early; we’re only installing at Heath North Road right now. You’ll get a notice in advance when it’s your turn." The worker replied and left without turning his head, making grunting sounds, indicating that the statue was indeed heavy.
"The renovation efficiency is too low," the doctor shook his head helplessly and continued on his way.
He lived at 36 Nite Street, while Heath North Road was the name of a street in the neighboring area.
When the rebel army successfully obtained Scameroon’s legitimate claim, Hepa Town transformed from a small town into Scameroon’s new capital; it should now be called "Heipa City".
Just right, in the previous turmoil, Hepa Town became a mess, and now the reconstruction could begin. The person in charge of the city was a die-hard fan of the Sain Dungeon, so when planning the city, many characteristics of the Sain Dungeon were referenced.
For instance, the roads in the city were named Nite Street, Heath Street, Gwyn Main Road, and such.
Although the doctor desperately wanted to mock this, he ultimately decided to speak cautiously.
Earlier, the workers were carrying a sculpture of Smough carved out of white stone; the designer had scaled down Smough’s image onto a pillar, with Ornstein paired with it. What was the purpose of these pillars...?
To serve as guardians.
Specifically to be placed at doorways as guardian deities to ward off evil.
Seems nothing strange about it, right? Didn’t these two appear as guardian deities for the Sunshine Princess when they debuted?
The doctor himself had ordered Ornstein and Smough guardian deities, but due to the overwhelming demand, the workers installed them house by house according to the order time. When it was his turn, it would probably take another two weeks.
As he strolled along the street, he reminisced about the furniture he ordered.
"Ornstein and Smough pillars, Gwyn candelabra, Gwendolin night light, and the phased purchase of the cannon Demon lighter; why haven’t any of them been delivered? How long have I been waiting!"
Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but complain about the renovation company’s extremely low efficiency, which was intolerable.
However, at this moment, all the troubles that gathered in his mind vanished with a bite of the Happiness Egg pancake bought from a street vendor.
"Ah, I feel so happy now..."
Under the influence of the Happiness Egg, the doctor drifted into a state of elation, his strides becoming increasingly confident as he swaggered toward the Resurrection House.
Lately, whenever he approached the Resurrection House, he worried about losing this job because wherever the Sain Dungeon appeared, business for the Resurrection House typically faltered. Who knew what mentality led the owner’s decision to set up the house here.
But now it’s Happiness Egg time; let all troubles disappear!
He looked out onto the under-construction Heipa City, changing his gaze while muttering to himself:
"Yarn-style spires look really cool, I want them."
"Imitation Yilushier’s ice cone decor? I need to buy one and see."
"Oh oh oh! Sain bonfire fireplace!"
The reason the streets of Heipa City attracted him to pause was finally revealed.
Because he was renovating a house he was allocated, and the various styles of buildings on the street provided perfect references.
After spending unknown time, the doctor finally walked into the Resurrection House, almost an hour past the specified working time, making him late in every sense.
In the end, he realized that he had arrived quite early.
"Guys, is there any work to do?"
The effects of the Happiness Egg were about at their limit, and he put on the Resurrection House uniform and walked toward the morgue, where only a few corpses awaited resurrection.
Yet, he found his coworkers excitedly chatting around one particular bed, some even whipping out Image Stones for selfies.
"What are you up to?" the doctor curiously approached, and before he had gotten close, he caught a whiff of a pungent smell that stopped him in his tracks—a wild odor reminiscent of a savage who hadn’t bathed after extended strenuous activity.
Were his coworkers’ senses broken?
He forced back his nausea and stepped closer, finally clearly seeing the face of the person lying on the hospital bed.
