Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1746 - 1031: Who Did You Say Invaded Us?_2
The young wolf slid under the adventurer’s shield, squeezing its body through the gap between the shield and the ground. Its tail incidentally swept across the adventurer’s ankle with just enough force to trip him up as he was about to turn, causing the adventurer to stumble a step and almost hit his companion with the shield.
Another team member swung a sword to drive it away, but before the blade even fell, the young wolf had already darted behind him, biting the strap of his pouch and pulling hard, snapping the pouch and making the adventurer stumble back a bit as well.
Carrying the broken pouch in its mouth, the young wolf swiftly leapt onto the wall, and with a slight adjustment of its limbs, it gracefully flipped up. Standing high, it looked down at the adventurers, its tail gently waving behind it, with the broken strap hanging from its lips, looking somewhat smug.
If its goal was to create chaos, it seemed to have succeeded, because—
"So amazing, so human-like; I really want to raise one."
The magician in the team looked at the young wolf with stars in their eyes.
"Does anyone have an elf ball? I’ll try to catch it."
Someone was already rummaging through their pouch.
"Should we call Roger’s trainers to take a look? It could be a new type of monster. Of course, we must charge him a referral fee."
Someone thought of Roger and a small way to make some money.
A feeling of relaxation spread around the adventurers.
The young wolf indeed stirred up chaos, but at most, it only dissolved everyone’s fighting spirit.
None of the adventurers in the team took it seriously.
"Hard to attack it, it’s rare to see such a cute little life in the Sain Dungeon."
Maru revealed everyone’s shared sentiment.
Tami shook his head helplessly, "What’s it trying to do exactly?"
He glanced again at the Ulashiro residents behind him, raised his hand, and swung a shield at the young wolf. The spinning round shield was dodged by the wolf and returned to his hand.
However, despite such an obvious attempt to drive it away, the young wolf showed no sign of retreat, staring intently at the group, unwilling to leave.
"Anyway, stop wasting time, don’t let the beast harm these people."
Tami, staying rational, wasn’t distracted by the wolf’s cuteness and signaled everyone to engage seriously.
The young wolf launched the attack first, leaping from the wall, its body stretching out in mid-air, the longsword in its mouth positioned across its side, sweeping toward Tami’s neck with its momentum. The angle of this slash was extremely tricky, closing off Tami’s escape path to either side.
But unfortunately, starting a fight with a jumping slash is admittedly a rather unsuccessful choice.
Tami raised his shield to block, and at the moment the sword clashed with the shield, his wrist sunk heavily.
The force behind this slash felt unlike anything a young wolf should be able to produce—not because of its strength, but because it was applying its entire body weight to the attack.
Similar techniques were seen in the battle images of the Giant Wolf Shif, but Tami had no knowledge of them.
After landing, the young wolf didn’t pause, adjusting its direction the moment its four feet touched the ground, its entire body swirling past Tami like a gust of grey wind, but Tami had already turned before it got past him, positioning his shield ahead of its inevitable path.
With a dull thud, the young wolf’s nose hit the shield, involuntarily letting out a muffled whimper.
It had never encountered an opponent who could predict its moves, momentarily showing a trace of confusion in its eyes.
Yet, the young wolf didn’t retreat; it changed its steps, no longer traversing large areas but maintaining just enough distance that Tami’s sword couldn’t reach it, intently watching every move Tami made. Every time Tami shifted his weight, it adjusted ahead of time in the opposite direction.
It was reading his footwork; it seemed this young wolf was about to showcase its skills!
"Sorry."
Just then, it suddenly saw Tami shaking his head and saying:
"Not playing along anymore."
The King’s Soul activated, and with both fighting qi and magic power released simultaneously, Tami swept the Great Calia at the young wolf ahead.
This move was supposed to unleash a lengthy magic sword, but Tami had poured so much magic into it that the Great Calia morphed into the Light Cannon Calia, turning the scene into something resembling the Knight King wielding an unsealed Noble Phantasm beam sword.
"Awooo!"
The young wolf, like a character from a comedy strip, howled as it was caught up in the beam cannon.
The entire building was lit by the Great Calia’s light, forcing everyone around to close their eyes. When the light started to fade, they reopened their eyes to see a young wolf lying on the ground, heavily panting.
Being directly hit by a Great Calia and still surviving with only severe injuries? This definitely isn’t just any ordinary wolf; we might need to go full force!
"You didn’t hold back with such a cute wolf," someone in the group joked.
"No choice, had to do it, but I did hold back, all right?"
Tami shook his head, walked over to the young wolf, squatted in front of it, and ruffled its head, saying:
"Have you calmed down now? We’re not your enemies; there must be some misunderstanding."
"Whimper...."
The young wolf let out a whine, and even in this situation, opened its mouth to bite Tami, although it didn’t hurt.
"Sigh."
Tami raised the shield, ready to knock it unconscious with one strong hit.
Killing the young wolf seemed unreasonable; while reconciliation seemed impossible at the moment, directly killing it felt like it would lead to something untoward.
"Thump!"
The shield fell to the ground, making a muffled sound.
Before it was hit, the young wolf burst forth with surprising speed, escaping into an alley.
"Indeed, facing a life-or-death crisis can unleash potential, huh?"
Tami shook his head, letting the escape slide.
"At least now we have the silver necklace; without it, how could we continue adventuring here?"
"Alright, now we can discuss how to settle these survivors—"
[Invasion from "Abyss Wanderer" Artorias!]
Tami choked midway through his sentence and immediately started coughing uncontrollably from the surprise, unable to straighten up.
What, what kind of invasion is this!?
"Tami! What have we been invaded by!?" Even Chaos couldn’t help exclaiming, let alone everyone else; the entire Skyrim Strategy Group was suddenly in panic.
After the invasion alert disappeared, a red silhouette suddenly materialized in front of everyone.
That Divine Race height, the powerful body, the intact sword and shield, and that high-stylish outfit...
Who else could it be but Artorias!
And now, what appeared before everyone was the unprecedented, full-powered Artorias in his Red Spirit form!
Moreover, he seemed a bit angry, like his precious Hakimi had been messed around by a passing big dog.
He drew the great sword named after himself, and just the gust from drawing it sliced through the ground, the rising killing intent blowing away the blowing headband.
Seeing this sight, Maru couldn’t help but twitch at the corners of her mouth, saying:
"Looks like we’re doomed, meow."
