After having his meal, Chu Li returned to the Sutra Library at a leisure pace.

He suddenly felt as if he had gone back to the time when he first entered the Public House. That was the most peaceful sensation he had ever felt, and it was the only time when he could truly focus on his studies. After all, ever since he left the Wisdom Tower, he had been constantly swamped with work, preventing him from attending to his studies.

Now that he was in Great Light Peak, his situation was the same as before. This would be the year in which he had to calm down and focus on studies. Furthermore, he could not receive any news regarding the Holy Church of Light. After all, seeing as the disciples on the mountain were all new, they had nothing to report.

However, seeing as the approximately two-hundred people within Wisdom Tower, Chu Li was left a little puzzled. Logically speaking, they only accepted disciples once every five years, and each enrolment had only consisted of fifteen disciples. How, then, was it possible for there to be that many people present?

Chu Li was still in the dark about the Holy Church of Light’s operations; he needed to figure things out little by little.

Chu Li sized up those who were studying within the Sutra Library, and he noticed that most of them were around his age. Some were much older, and some were around the age of forty. Considering how knowledgeable they looked, they were probably not new disciples.

Currently, Chu Li hypothesized that the new disciples were not allowed to change sects. They were not allowed to head to the other mountains, and they were forced to bide their time here until they turned old. The Sutra Library could very well be the only one within the nine peaks, as not all mountains would have a Sutra Library of their own.

Despite that, Chu Li continued to flip through the secret manuals unhurriedly, as his current objective was still to cultivate the Divine Light Technique.

He was constantly cultivating the Great Light Scripture, enhancing his Divine Light Body, which in turn had resulted in the exponential growth of his Divine Light Technique.

This was the fastest he had ever cultivated a technique. As such, he could not afford to practice other martial arts during this time. Moreover, judging from how simple and peaceful his surroundings appeared, Chu Li felt that the Light Blade was all he needed to protect himself.

In the evening, after the sun had set, the Sutra Library began to shut its doors. With that, Zhao Zhe and the others began to leave, leaving only three people left within the library. They were Chu Li, Mo Cuicui, and Sun Lihua.

After thoroughly sweeping the first floor, Chu Li headed to the second floor to greet Sun Lihua. As for Mo Cuicui who was on the third floor, well, she was still busy with work.

“Junior Brother Zhao, please hold on for a moment. We’ll have our dinner together.” Sun Lihua had donned green apparel, and while she looked imposing in it, the tone of her voice was the total opposite. There was warmness to her words, and it was both soft and gentle, making it hard for anyone to object.

Chu Li asked, “Senior Sister Sun, was everyone within the Sutra Library from the First Peak?”

Sun Lihua replied in a playful tone, “That’s absurd. Are you aware of how many disciples we have in the First Peak?”

Chu Li thought about it before responding, “So, they can visit us, but we can’t visit them?”

“Yup. They’re allowed to come over, but not the other way around.” Sun Lihua nodded.

“Hmm… So, how many disciples do we actually have within the Holy Light Church?” questioned Chu Li.

Sun Lihua shook her head. “I’m afraid that the only one who could answer this question would be the bishop. The nine peaks are split into the Upper Three Peaks, the Middle Three Peaks, and the Lower Three Peaks. Almost nobody knows how many people reside within the Upper Three Peaks, but I have heard that they have the best environment there. The spiritual energy there far exceeds that of the Lower Three and Middle Three Peaks. Because of that, those who reside there do not even need to practice martial arts to live over the age of three hundred. As for those who were exceptionally well-versed in martial arts, well, living past four hundred years poses no trouble to them.”

Chu Li heaved a sigh, “There’s so much to learn.”

“Take it easy, there’s no need to rush. We’re confined to the Sutra Library anyways, so there isn’t really a need to know too much,” Sun Lihua answered with a vibrant smile.

“Ugh… I don’t even know whether I’ll be able to make it to the Upper Three Peaks.” Chu Li shook his head as he sighed. “I don’t know whether I’ll even live that long. After angering Altar Leader Mo, I fear that my life is forfeit.”

“That won’t happen.” Sun Lihua’s expression took on an ominous shade.

She knew that Altar Leader Mo would never let him off, and Mo Cuicui herself would also never forgive the killer of her cousin. As such, the path ahead of Chu Li was looking bleak.

The only thing Lihua could hope to achieve was to soothe the relations between Mo Cuicui and Chu Li. After all, once the two reconciled, Altar Leader Mo would no longer be able to harm him.

“I wonder, do we have a Senior Sister called Xia Xue here?” Chu Li asked.

After pondering on it for a moment, Sun Lihua answered, “Xia Xue… Senior Sister Xia, huh? I think we have someone called Senior Sister Xia in the torture chamber.”

“In the torture chamber? We have a torture chamber here?” Chu Li exclaimed.

“Why, of course!” Sun Lihua chuckled, “Who do you think will punish us for our misdemeanors if we don’t establish a torture chamber? Please don’t tell me that you thought we’re unsupervised.”

“Well, I don’t see anyone watching over us.” Chu Li shook his head.

Sun Lihua giggled, “You won’t see them usually, but they’ll appear the moment you do something wrong.”

Chu Li nodded. “So, where’s this torture chamber at?”

“It’s not somewhere we can go,” Sun Lihua answered as she shook her head.

With that, Chu Li nodded his head and stayed silent.

Soon after, Mo Cuicui had come down, and the moment she spotted Chu Li, her expression immediately sank.

Chu Li smiled as he offered his salutations. “Greetings, Senior Sister Mo!”

However, Mo Cuicui coldly snorted, “Hmph! I don’t need YOU to wait for me!”

Sun Lihua interjected, “Alright alright, we’re all in this together, so let’s head to the cafeteria.”

“All I feel is rage whenever I see this guy. Senior Sister Sun, let’s ignore him and go on our own,” Mo Cuicui hastily suggested.

Sun Lihua replied, “Everyone else is going in a group of three, so we’ll stick out like a sore thumb if we do as you suggest. C’mon, let’s just go.”

“What’s wrong with my suggestion? He’s an outer mountain disciple anyways!” Mo Cuicui pouted her cheeks. In a discriminatory tone, she continued, “Besides, he’s going to kick the bucket next year, so, why do we need to entertain him?!”

“Well, we’re still a team for the entire year, so…” Sun Lihua comforted Mo Cuicui with a gentle tone, and as she tugged at Cuicui’s sleeves, she urged, “Let’s go.”

Mo Cuicui reluctantly followed Sun Lihua. However, before that, she turned her head around and glared at Chu Li. “You really are thick-skinned, you know that? As a grown man, what are you following us girls around for?”

Chu Li grinned, “Well, as I’m totally clueless about the things here, it’s only natural for me to follow my Senior Sister. We could leave you behind, you know?”

“You…” Mo Cuicui had blown her top. Through her gritted teeth, she chastised, “You really are a piece of trash, you know that? To think that a grown man would choose to follow two ladies!”

Chu Li only responded with a smile.

“Alright, settle down.” Sun Lihua tugged at Mo Cuicui. “I heard what happened with your cousin as well, but Junior Brother Zhao has already been punished.”

“He deserves death!” Mo Cuicui snorted.

Sun Lihua questioned, “Well, if he truly deserves to die, then why did the Saint spare him?”

Chu Li revealed his clenched fists, and said, “Senior Sister Sun speaks the truth. I’m actually the one being bullied here. I didn’t even offend anyone, but your cousin suddenly appeared trying to kill me. Not just once, but time and time again. Had I quietly endured it; I wouldn’t even be alive now!”

As the three continued their conversation, they slowly left the Sutra Library and headed down towards the Flavorful Tower.

Glowing candle flames dotted the Flavorful Tower, and it was crowded with people as well. It was quite a lively scene.

Sun Lihua whipped her head around and shot her eyes at Chu Li. In a low voice, she said, “Junior Brother Zhao, be extra careful here.”

Chu Li nodded his head.

It was then that he realized that Senior Sister Sun had a gentle and kind personality.

Mo Cuicui clicked her tongue and donned a mocking expression.

The three then entered the first floor of the Flavorful Tower, and after choosing the dishes they wanted, they found an empty table and sat down.

The first floor of the Flavorful Tower was something similar to the all-you-can-eat meals in the hotels from Chu Li’s past life. The disciples could take whatever they wanted, with the condition that nothing would go to waste. More interestingly, they did not need to pay a single dime; everything was free of charge.

Not long after the trio had settled down, Song Donglin carried his platter and sat at the same table as the trio. He had situated himself directly in front of Sun Lihua, and as he did so, he smirked, “I hope I’m not bothering anyone by sitting here.”

Mo Cuicui smiled vibrantly as she brought up her plate. “Well, I’ll leave you two to your own devices. Junior Brother Zhao, let’s leave!”

Chu Li lifted up his plate and turned around to leave. As he did so, he made sure to exchange a nod with Song Donglin.

Sun Lihua howled, “What do you guys think you’re doing?!”

She extended her hands and grabbed onto Mo Cuicui and Chu Li, preventing them from leaving.
