Chapter 614 The Second Round’s Insanity.

The raven-haired man slowly straightened his back, and inhaled. The whole room trembled under his aura. Then, the black-shafted spear appeared in his hand, and the man’s long fingers wrapped around it.

Odin gulped, and his hand, which held the cane, trembled, ”Kalzer…?”

”Whoo…” The man exhaled, and turned to Odin with a smile, ”It’s me. I don’t feel anything different, so I think it was successful, right?”

Odin wiped his sweat, still hadn’t dropped his wariness. He walked around the desk, and with the cane, he swung it at the raven-haired man’s glabella.

The cane’s golden tip touched the raven-haired man’s glabella, the spot between the eyebrows, and leaked a golden energy into the man’s head.

Odin closed his eyes, and re-lived the man’s memories. He saw a hundred years of memories, but in the outside world, it only took a second. After he opened his eyes, a smile appeared, ”Kalzer, you were successful.”

”Whew…” Kalzer looked at his arms. They were flowing with power. It also felt like the gungnir was his new limb, ‘Was this how Isaac felt during his fight against Hades? This feels powerful, and amazing.’

”You should go rest.” Odin circled past the desk, and sat down. As he placed the cane on his lap, he closed his eyes, ”Tomorrow is going to be a long day.”

”Yes, sir, and… thank you.” Kalzer bowed with gratitude. He knew how much power it took from Odin to send him to the test, and also to make sure that his personality remained intact.

Odin softly nodded, and fell asleep.

Kalzer left the room, and exhaled with a refreshed expression.

”What is it with you all?” Then, a voice came next to him. Kalzer whipped his head to the side, and saw a blue-skinned man leaning against a wall, ”W-Who?”

”I kinda feel bad for giving Wraith the handicap now.” Shiva chuckled, ”Kalzer, that was your name, right?”

”Yes, and you are…?”

”Shiva.” After revealing his name, Kalzer’s expression changed to shock.

”What should I do now…” Shiva sat on the ground, and snapped with his thumb, and middle finger. A glowing ball, resembling a planet, appeared on his palm. As he joggled with it, he thought about the tournament, and what to change.

Currently, three players were at level way above anyone else. It was completely unfair competition.

Kalzer looked around the hallway, kind of embarrassed to just keep standing while the god continued thinking about something. He didn’t know whether he should leave, or stay. It sounded like Shiva had something to talk about.

‘I can’t just handicap everyone.’ Shiva clicked his tongue, and made the ball vanish, ‘In some sense, the three players deserved their power, so it isn’t exactly fair to handicap them…’

After thinking about it, his third eye appeared, and all of his eyes widened in realization. He knew what he should do.

‘The next round was supposed to be a team match. However, what if, we are changing things a little bit… Instead of a team match, what if it’s a boss fight. Those three players, will guard one path each. The 47 remaining players will become three different teams, and the two fastest teams will qualify, while the third doesn’t.’

Shiva’s face had a large grin, ”Bingoooooo!”

”Eh?” Kalzer flinched, then Shiva stood up, and patted him on the shoulder as he walked by, ”Good luck for tomorrow, hehehehe.”

‘What is with that creepy laughter?’ Kalzer thought while shuddering. After seeing Shiva’s grin, he felt like something terrible would happen tomorrow.

At that same night, Shiva told his plan tp the tournament creator, Heimdall. At first, he was shocked, and thought it was utterly ludicrous. Instead of three players being boss, they could pick three dangerous beasts from Spawn Dimensions.

However, Shiva’s logic was that the three players would do 90% of the fighting in each group. It wouldn’t be fun to watch.

After hearing about all that, he started thinking about the possibility sincerely.

In that office, with a warm light shrouding the walls, Shiva, and Heimdall sat at opposite sides of a wooden desk. They stayed silent before Heimdall opened his mouth.

”The problem is that there will be two extra players. It’s either we give two players a free pass, or two teams have one extra fighter.”

”Hmm…” Shiva tapped his feet against the floor, and said, ”Shall we decide the teams already? That way, we can make somewhat equal teams of equal strength.”

”That slightly goes against our principle, but I guess we don’t have any other choice.” Heimdall said, and waved his hand, ”Any ideas about the teams?”

”Yeah… a few.” Shiva grinned, and told about the teams. Then, Heimdall quipped, and fixed some of the teams.

After midnight went by, they had finished the teams. The next round was going to be insane.

The screens in both Moon City, and Four Seasons showed the shocking news. The next round’s name was called Boss Fight. It was a team-based round, with three teams trying to defeat a boss, and the two fastest teams would qualify for the third, and final round.

At that moment, they thought the bosses would be monsters. However, the next piece of announcement took the world by storm. The bosses were three players, Underlord, Wraith, and Kalzer.

After hearing about it, shock filled the entire Internet. They were excited, but, also confused. What happens if one of them loses? Would they get kicked out of the tournament, or what.

Then, several minutes later, the explanation arrived from the Moon City. None of the bosses would be eliminated. However, the one who lasted the longest, would get an amazing reward.

Thus, there was a big backlash. Everyone knew that these three players were most likely the strongest, but didn’t know by how much. There was still Amour, Xerxus, Sorcerer, etc, who were incredibly strong.

They expected the round to end swiftly in the bosses’ losses.

Then, the long night ended with the teams, which were revealed to everyone.
