Chapter 594 The Tournament of Champions – First Round (20)
Everyone turned towards the loud sound. They saw a single bullet flying across the air. As it closed in on the barrier, they thought it would be blocked, like the previous ones. However, a shocked exclamation echoed as the bullet drilled through the barrier like it was nothing.
The bullet reached its mark. It went straight through Underlord’s sleeves, and drilled through his forearm.
”Ah?” Underlord suddenly lost the feeling in his right arm. As he turned to look down, there was a bullet hole in his forearm. However, he didn’t feel any pain, as expected.
”Hmm?” Underlord arched his eyebrow, and turned to the person who fired at him. A white mask, a short body, and a small presence. Basically, nobody.
‘Lucky shot?” Snorting, Underlord shook his right arm, and the bullet hole disappeared.
”White Death, how dare you interrupt the tournament?” Hades leaned against his bident, and asked angrily, ”The fight is still ongoing.”
”No, it’s not.” Simo said.
”According to who?”
”According to me!” Simo turned the sight’s to Luna, and pulled the trigger. The bullet drilled through her head, killing her swiftly. Her avatar slowly disappeared.
”Shit!” Underlord screamed, and tried to punch at the vanishing avatar. However, he only managed to hit a few pixels.
Hades gritted his teeth, and swung his bident. However, Simo placed the sniper rifle on a block before the blade could reach him.
”Enough!” Then, Zeus’ shout echoed from the distance, ”The fight is over!”
”Tsk.” Hades pulled his bident back, and leaped back to his viewing room. In there, Persephone snored quietly in the chair.
Underlord spat on the ground, and looked at the white-masked man with annoyance, ”You think you can hide there?”
Simo coldly looked at him. There was a distance of several hundred meters between them. However, to many, it felt like they were standing meters away.
The screen showed Underlord’s name, shining in a golden hue. Name ‘Night’ turned dark.
Underlord smirked, and slipped his hands into his pockets. He carefreely left the arena, showing no respect to anyone.
Simo turned around, and left the arena. As he entered the hallway, a dark-haired beauty was leaning against the wall, seemingly waiting for him.
”Thanks.” Hecate said, with her gentle voice.
”…” Simo softly nodded at her, and walked by her.
Then, Hecate’s voice came from behind him, ”Where are you going?”
”To calm down my angry disciple.” Simo said, and continued walking down the hallway. After he left, Hecate sighed, and loosened her bloodied palm. She was seconds away from entering the arena to rip Underlord’s head off.
After stepping out of the arena, Simo saw a destroyed statue with a crater on the ground. Walking beside the pit, he saw bloodied Isaac barely keeping his unconsciousness. Without the White Death, he would be already dead.
”L-Luna…”
”Calm down,” Simo jumped down the hole, placed Isaac’s motionless figure on top of his right shoulder, and leaped out of the hole. They didn’t return to the arena, instead, Simo started carrying him away.
”P-Please…” Isaac tried to reach towards the arena. His vision was misty. However, he could see the arena’s light growing dimmer.
”She is safe. But, you aren’t.”
As Simo’s voice traveled, and bounced across his mind, Isaac’s vision turned dark. He lost his consciousness. However, his avatar didn’t disappear…
…
In the Four Seasons.
”Ah!” Luna woke up with shock. Her face, and torso were in terrible pain. Then, the door opened with a slam, and she could barely describe her parents’ shouting.
With last seconds of being awake, she could see the faces of her worried parents, and grandpa. Then, the consciousness slipped, and everything turned dark.
Mariah, Sin, and Marshall screamed, and started mending her wounds. There wasn’t any permanent damage. However, some of her ribs might be broken along with her nose.
In the arena.
Cecilia paced back and forth in her waiting room. She screamed every now and then, and kicked a chair over.
That same scene was found in Alice’s waiting room. First Queen Eliza lost, then Luna.
It made her angry.
At the far end of the hallway, Underlord hummed merily as his eyes crescented into a smile.
”Are you having fun?” His feet came to a stop as he noticed Kalzer standing on the sidelines, looking at him coldly.
”Of course, I won.” Underlord said with a smirk.
”You call that as winning?” Kalzer untied his crossed arms, and walked toward Underlord. Once next to him, he was head-taller than him, ”You weren’t fighting. You were torturing your opponent. That is not the same.”
”The outcome was the same.” Underlord said, his grin still there. His eyes scanned Kalzer while he said, ”I used to be a big fan of you, like many others. We all thought you were so cool, and mysterious. People like that stuff.
”But now… I am not sure what I was seeing in you. You are weak, like an ant… I am sure I could stomp you like one.”
”Anyway.” Underlord playfully tapped his shoulder, ”Stay out of my way. Just wait till the finals, where I will destroy you in front of everyone.”
”Why wait?” Kalzer snapped his fingers, and the black-shafted spear appeared in his right hand. With a flick of his wrist, the blade neared Underlord’s throat.
”Easy there.” Underlord grabbed the blade with his index finger, and thumb and said, ”I want to defeat you in front of everyone, not here, where no one will see.”
”?!” Kalzer’s eyes widened. He tried to pull the spear back. However, couldn’t.
Swoosh. Out of nowhere, a crimson-bladed axe sliced through Underlord’s left arm, separating it from his body!
Underlord saw his health bar blinking red. With a panicked expression, he quickly healed his arm. However, then the spear drove through his body, and impaled him on the wall.
”ARGH!” Underlord’s scream echoed in the hallway. However, there were only two who heard it.
”Whew.” Kalzer cracked his neck, ”I am so tired of your bullshit.”
”Heh.” Amour rested the crimson-blade on his shoulder, and looked at Underlord mockingly, ”This bastard sure has a lot of nerve.”
”You dare?!” Underlord tried to snap his fingers. However, then the crimson-bladed axe sliced through his hands, separating them from his forearms.
The shower of blue blood painted the floor, and walls.
Kalzer grabbed Underlord by the face, and whispered coldly, ”Imagine if this happened to your real self… That will happen to you if you keep up your bullshit. Don’t repeat what you just did. This is the final warning.”
Grabbing his spear, he removed it from Underlord’s body, and walked away with Amour while they spoke about mundane things. It was as if they were dealing with some insignificant being.
”Argh, Kalzer, Amour!” Underlord screamed in hate. All the wounds healed. However, the mental wound was still there. He could only imagine the pain if this happened in real-life.
‘How dare they… I am great Underlord. I will kill you all!’
