Chapter 585 The Tournament of Champions – First Round (11)
As the arena roared in esctasy. The eight match ended.
At the far corner of the arena, God Ra watched the scene with his golden eyes showing the flicker of flame. So far, he wasn’t impressed. The humans showed good ability. However, they lacked the great deal of passion that was required for the future.
”Hmph, Zeus thinks they will be the ones saving us?” God Ra snorted, and turned his body half-way, preparing to leave, ”Hundred years wasted. It should never have been humans. Instead, we should have just nurtured Inhumans.”
”You don’t seem to have any faith.” A deep voice resounded from the dark hallway, ”Isn’t that more important than passion?”
”Hmm?” God Ra frowned as a robed figure appeared. His giant figure loomed over him, like a skyscraper, ”Show your face.”
The hood slid off his face, revealing an angry-looking bearded man with a red tattoo flowing over the side of his face.
”Kratos…” God Ra’s figure stepped further into the hallway, suddenly feeling fear, ”Why are you here?”
”The next match… watch it.” Kratos said as he turned around, and left. God Ra looked stunned as the tall man walked away.
”Next match…” Curiously, God Ra turned towards the empty arena. The next match was ready to start as Heimdall rode to the center of the arena.
The screen shone names of two next fighters.
The audience turned loud as the next match-up was insane!
[9. King Arawn Vs. Lord Amour]
The whole arena shook with loud screams. This was easily the most anticipated match in this tournament, maybe even in White Online history!
King Arawn, famous hunter with an excellent fighting record. His only loss came from the fight against Lord Kalzer. However, their fight was one of the most watched fights in the history of the internet.
Now, he was fighting against Lord Amour, the Undefeated Lord. Since the dawn of time, he’d never been defeated. Not in real-life, and not in the game. His whole fanbase circled around his undefeated nature. Would today be the day when he finally lost?
Dun dun, dun dun!
The loud drums resounded across the heaven. Everyone walking in the streets, sitting on audience stands, and even watching the tournament from their homes, felt the ground shake as the result of the drums.
In the Four Seasons.
The servants of the Grayhound family watched with a nervous gaze at the TV screen. After the mention of Amour, their hearts started racing.
Amon, the Patriarch of the Grayhound family, sat in his office while the monitor showed the view of the arena. Even though his face looked calm, his heart thumped against his chest.
Somewhere in the world.
King Arawn’s large family gathered in a hall. There were nearly thirty relatives of his watching nervously at the screen. They cheered, and hoped for his victory.
”Go Arawn!”
”Go brother!”
In the arena.
”Whew…” King Arawn cleaned the blade of his axe. After doing that, he tossed the rag away, and looked at his reflection shown in the blade. His grin grew as he stormed out of the waiting room. His aura grew as he walked closer to the arena.
In other side of the arena, Lord Amour walked silently towards the large pair of doors. His face didn’t have emotions as he carried his crimson-bladed axe in one hand.
Heimdall raised his horn, and shouted, ”Ninth Match, King Arawn Vs. Lord Amour!”
”Yeeeeeeees!” The audience shouted, with fists raised. Their excited screams shook the foundations.
The cobblestone ground slowly disappeared, revealing the ninth arena. This time, it was a golden temple with tall statues of gods stretching towards the starry sky. There was a large golden throne, surrounded by knight statues. Everything was made of gold.
Creak…. The two doors opened, revealing the two fighters. They walked over to the large golden temple, and saw each other walking. There wasn’t anywhere to hide. There was nothing but empty space filled with golden decorations, statues, thrones, and columns.
”The ninth match… begin!”
Boom… The two axe-wielding men kicked the ground, and dashed across the temple. They raised their axes, and screamed loudly as they hacked them down. The sparks soared across the temple.
King Arawn, and Lord Amour exchanged glances before pulling their axes back. They immediately started trading blows. With each swing of the axe, one blocked, and counterattacked.
”RAH!” King Arawn’s scream shook the heavens. He slashed the axe horizontally, cutting through the air.
Lord Amour’s muscles bulged as he blocked the strike with the side of the blade. His feet slightly slid backward. However, he immediately counter-attacked, and flexed his muscles, causing a burst of strength.
King Arawn got pushed backward a single step. They immediately raised their axes, and smashed them down. Boom. The two axes collided, breaking the golden ground.
The audience screamed in excitement, and started cheering for their favorites. One side shouted Arawn’s name. One side shouted Amour’s name.
”Go Arawn!”
”Amour, win!!!”
”I have been waiting for this… for a long time!” King Arawn deflected Amour’s axe, raised his own axe, and hacked it down. The blade rippled through the air as it flew towards Amour’s shoulder.
”Whooo…” Lord Amour tilted his body to the right, dodged the axe, and smashed his fist on Arawn’s cheek. As he staggered a step back, he raised his axe, and sent a crescent-shaped slash across the air.
King Arawn spun the axe with crazed speed, and blocked the strike. He immediately kicked off the ground, and threw a punch. However, Amour dodged the punch before it even reached its mark.
Lord Amour’s crimson-colored blade radiated a bloody glow as he raised it high-up, ”Godly March!”
The first skill was unleashed. He marched towards Arawn while swinging his axe. The crimson-colored blade corrupted the air with a thick bloody scent.
”Hunter’s Resounding Glory!” Raising his axe high-up, Arawn screamed his skill’s name, and smashed it against the crimson-colored blade. Two colors mixed-up. Crimson, and brown. As the two attacks fused with each other, the columns holding the temple’s ceiling cracked.
