Chapter 520 Where Are They?
Chapter 520 Where Are They?
In Snowstar.
Knock, knock.
Luna gave the door made of oak a light flick of her wrist and rapped on it twice. She was over at the Whitelock Residence, or to be more specific; she came to see Isaac.
The moonlight shone upon her as the moon hung high in the sky.
It was getting late; the clock was getting closer to 8 o’clock. Despite the fact that Luna slept here with Isaac quite frequently, there were still times when she slept in the comfort of her own home.
Tap, tap, tap.
Luna could hear a quiet pair of footsteps coming from the direction of the door, and shortly thereafter, it squeaked open, revealing Isabella dressed in her usual attire.
“Oh, hey, sweetheart.” Isabella smiled softly as she extender her hand, and patted on Luna’s soft silky hair.
“Hey, mother-in-law, Isaac didn’t answer my phone calls, so I came here instead. I am wondering if he is in his room? He didn’t seem to be inside the game either.” Luna asked as Isabella removed her hand from her head.
“He must be in his room because he didn’t come for dinner,” Isabella said and let Luna in. She turned her head toward the second floor, wondering where her son was, but this wasn’t the first time he had skipped dinner.
“Alright!” Isabella watched as Luna skipped up the stairs and was soon out of her sight.
After returning to the kitchen, Isabella prepared to wash the dishes as the lighting in the room became dimmer.
Upstairs, when Luna opened the door to Isaac’s room, she flashed a smile that showed off her pearly white teeth. She was about to say something, but then she noticed the empty bed.
There was no one in the room.
“Hmm, I wonder if he’s taking a shower right now.” As Luna entered the room, she couldn’t help but wonder about something. She moved in the direction of the restroom door and opened it without first knocking.
Their relationship had progressed to the point where they were not embarrassed to show each other their bodies anymore. They had both experienced some initial embarrassment about it, but over time they overcame it.
After she threw open all the doors to the bathroom, she met with yet another vacant scene. It was obvious from the lack of moisture on the tiled floor that no one had showered today.
She rubbed her cheek with her finger and then walked to the wardrobe. She moved the clothing out of the way and then opened the black box to take a look inside. There was the VR Helmet.
“Where is he?” She made a frowning face and reached into her back pocket to retrieve her phone. At first, she tried to reach Isaac by phone, but the call went straight to his voice mail. New novel chapters are published on AllNovelFull.cᴏm.
Her frown became even more pronounced, and she reached for her phone to dial Lionel’s number, speculating that he may have gone to dojo despite the fact that he never goes there at this particular time of the day.
Ring…
The phone began to ring and vibrate simultaneously. As soon as the call connected, Luna could hear gentle breathing coming from the other side of the line.
“Who is this?” She could hear the reverberation of Lionel’s voice coming from the phone, followed by the sound of soft panting.
“It’s Luna.”
“Ah, Isaac’s girlfriend! What’s going on?’ Lionel ceased his workout in the dojo and sat down on the floor. He reached into his bag, pulled out a water bottle, and devoured it with a ravenous appetite.
“Excuse me, but could you tell me if Isaac is present?”
“Hmm, no?” Lionel peered out of the door of his training room and saw that the dojo was mostly empty. If Isaac was around, he would be aware of it.
In the past year, this dojo has seen a significant increase in attendance. Even when it is completely dark outside, there is still a trace amount of traffic.
“Are you in the dojo?”
“Yes, but Isaac didn’t come to dojo today,” Lionel responded while putting the water bottle back in the bag. Then, he became aware of Luna’s slightly erratic breathing, which gave the impression that she was becoming anxious about something.
“Alright, thanks a lot…” Luna ended the phone call abruptly after that.
“Hmm, strange.” Lionel gave a shrug of the shoulders, jumped to his feet, and then pocketed the phone.
Inside Isaac’s room.
“Isaac,” Luna murmured as she slipped the phone into her pocket with caution. “Where are you?”
After carefully placing the phone in her pocket, she made her way over to the bed in a leisurely manner. She was about to sit down when she caught a glimpse of the pillow and something on top of it. This stopped her in her tracks.
As she made a mad dash for the pillow, her eyes revealed a ripple in the water. She reached over and snatched a sheet of the paper pillow before repositioning herself so that she was lying on her back.
She started reading the letter from the beginning:
“Hello, this letter may come as a complete surprise, but I am currently visiting a friend with whom I have a meeting scheduled. My departure may come across as unexpected, and you are probably wondering why I didn’t tell anyone about it. The reason is that I simply forgot to do so. Please note that I will not be returning in a few weeks.”
Luna threw the paper down while making an angry face. Her innocent and beautiful face fell apart like a sand castle in the wind.
“He is making things up…” Her eyes, which were completely frozen, reflected a menacing glint and asked, “Why? Since this writing is in his handwriting, we can conclude that he didn’t get kidnapped.
“You happened to forget? Have you given it any thought to come up with an explanation?” Her irises contracted, and she tore the paper into pieces.
“My love… you are treading on dangerous waters…”
…
“Son?” A stunning woman of middle age entered the room as the door slowly opened to reveal her presence. Her name was Karen, and she was Kalzer’s mother.
“…The breakfast is ready,” She spoke softly as she peered over the bedframe towards the mattress, which was typically where she saw her son sleeping or playing.
However, there was not a single person in the room. The blanket draped over the mattress in an orderly fashion. The blanket festooned over the pillows, and the rest of the space in the room appeared to be tidy.
On the other hand, it did not look like there was anyone else there. Even the door to the restroom was vacant, revealing that there was no-one there.
Karen entered the room and immediately started walking toward the desk. She noticed the helmet that his son wore, and then she saw the mysterious letter next to it.
“What on earth is this?” She turned it open and started reading it very slowly. The handwriting belonged to his son, and in it, he discussed taking a short trip so that he could improve his skill with a spear. It would appear that there was a spear instructor in the nearby city who offered free lessons to those who were interested.
After she had finished reading, she felt relieved that her son was putting in a lot of effort and that he was finally able to take deep breaths of fresh air outside without his father’s constant scrutiny. On the other hand, she couldn’t predict how her husband would behave in the situation.
She mustered up her strength and made her way back downstairs. Her husband, who was also Kalzer’s father, was sitting at the table drinking coffee and reading the newspaper.
“Kai…” She came to a stop close to the table, and she positioned the letter so that it was facing the newspaper.
“What on earth is this?” Kai showed his irritation while making an aggravated remark. He glanced at the letter in a casual manner, but the further he read, the more enraged he became.
“What a worthless piece of trash!” He smashed the table with the side of his fist, and then shouted, “Spear instructor? Does he take me for a complete idiot?! He must have gone off to some place to lounge around!”
“I-I don’t believe that this is the situation at all. You should know that our son would never tell a lie!” Karen made an effort to calm the situation.
“Shut up!” In a furious rage, Kai smacked her hand away and stood up, saying, “Once that cretin is back, I will show what happens when he disobeys me. Whether he is a Chain Breaker or not, he cannot get away without paying the price!”
