Chapter 402 - The Beginning of the Auction
Chapter 402 - The Beginning of the Auction.
After succeeding in his heist, Isaac ran into his rented room, his heart pounding with excitement and his body shaking uncontrollably.
He went to his bed and pulled all the pouches out of his inventory. His bed soon became a sea of white coins.
In a flash, Isaac's interface was full of White Coins.
[1,869,056 White Coins Acquired!]
"Wow!" Isaac covered his mouth and laughed quietly to himself. He now has a fortune of over two million dollars.
His auction preparation was complete.
The leather pouches were thrown into Isaac's inventory casually. Then, Isaac waited for the night to arrive.
…
The sky over Stronglord turned dark, and the whole city was bathed in beautiful blue and yellow lights.
As the front of the Auction House bustled with activity, several beautiful women welcomed the people inside and handed out the catalog of today's items.
"Wow, so many rare items!" One of the players and his girlfriend exclaimed after seeing the hundreds of valuable items.
"Honey, will you buy something for me?" She grabbed his arm tightly and tucked it between her breasts.
"Haahh..." The player could not help but sigh internally and wanted to refuse, but he would be dumped soon enough. Several items were on his wish list, but his girlfriend wanted anything that looked cute.
His White Coins are usually spent on her. Which made him wonder, why the fuck was she dating her in the first place?
It was evident that she was beautiful and just his kind of girl. However, at this rate, he would go broke!
Then, he felt his girlfriend's hold tightening after not receiving an answer, "Honey… Why aren't you answering?"
"Yes, babe... "The player answered with a defeated look and was dragged into a brightly decorated room by her now cheerful girlfriend.
Suddenly, a carriage sped through the road, almost hitting several players. It forced the crowd of players to move aside as it stopped in front of the auction house.
The players seemed quite disgruntled and felt very tempted to speak their minds to the carriage-carried person. Their path to a carriage was blocked by several level 200 Guards. The person inside the carriage seemed to be someone of considerable importance.
The carriage's doors opened, and a black-haired teen stepped down the stairs with a lofty expression. The way he looked at everyone was like looking at an ant colony waiting to get stepped on.
[Lynch]
There were many exclamations of shock from the nearby crowd when the player's name was announced. The Player Lynch had quite a unique relationship among the player base.
His father was the famous Guild Master of Monarch. This was a Guild for Master Classes and was arguably one of the wealthiest Guilds in all of the Stronglord.
Following his footsteps, Lynch also became Trap Master. Nevertheless, one could argue that his skill was mediocre. In contrast, his inventory was filled with poison potions, healing potions, and traps made by his father.
While his level was only 80, he was capable of killing a level 120 player.
Lynch was not someone anyone wanted to become the enemy of because that would make them the enemy of Guild Monarch, an influential guild.
Having pushed the players to the side, Lynch had no problem ascending the stairs. He ripped the auction catalog out of the woman's hand and arrogantly walked into the auction hall.
The Players resumed their swarming inside the building after he left.
A pair of elderly folks walked along the streets straight toward the Auction House. They were Malcolm and Madison. It was impossible to ignore the attractiveness hiding underneath their wrinkles.
They followed the crowd of people and soon received the catalog of items. While slowly trekking toward the auction hall, they skimmed through the items and soon saw the item they came for.
"Hmm… Do we have enough white coins?" Madison asked.
"I think we do." Malcolm nodded, "We already managed to repay Andrew the one million white coins, and our business is bustling. It is only a matter of time before we are lead suppliers for nobles."
Madison nodded, "What did Andrew say the other day?"
Malcolm shrugged, "He was pleased, but our sales need to be doubled this month."
"Doubled… That's doable." Madison grabbed Malcolm's large hand and stepped inside the auction hall with him.
There were close to two thousand seats available, but over half of them were already occupied.
At the end of the hall was a stage with a red carpet draped over it that concealed every item behind it.
The ceiling lights were already illuminated with yellow crystals, and a loud discussion was taking place among the players.
There were three sections available for seating. A wealthy NPC's occupied the right section. The center seating had the most seats, and everyone who entered the auction could sit there.
On the left, there was the wealthy Players' side. Madison and Malcolm also sat there. Only several rows in front of them, Lynch was seated among his bodyguards and butlers.
More players and NPCs flooded into the auction hall as its doors remained open. Finally, a familiar white-haired man entered the auction hall.
After seeing the three seating areas, Isaac was confident he had enough wealth to enter the left side but was seated in the last row of the center seating area.
The white mask covered his face, but his white hair remained visible, and his gray eyes could be seen through the eyeholes.
By the end of the next ten minutes, the auction hall was full, and the doors closed. NPCs and players who didn't make it in time had no choice but to leave the building.
A dim light engulfed the crystals on the ceiling, and the yellow crystals faded away. In contrast, the lighting above the stage became brighter while the seating area became darker.
An attractive woman was pushing a cart toward the center of the stage. A bow was shown on the cart, and everyone's attention was drawn to it.
The first item had been delivered for auction.
