Chapter 386 - Gods Facing Demon
Chapter 386 - Gods Facing Demon.
After the visit to Snowflower Residence, Isaac returned to his home with an energetic look. The passionate kissing session with Luna caused all his worries to finally disappear, and his body instantly felt lighter.
His thoughts moved more smoothly, and during the car trip back, he thought about Oliver and his friends' threat, and Isaac thought about several ways of ending that threat once and for all.
After entering the house, Isaac slipped out of his winter boots and rushed toward his room.
However, after reaching the fourth floor, he heard the sound of wings flapping above him. Isaac frowned and turned to look at the brand-new-looking ceiling with slight dust particles dropping down.
The sound came from the attic, causing Isaac to change his destination slightly. Soon, he opened the wooden hatch and entered the dust-filled attic with boxes littering the ground and wooden crisps littering the ground.
The attic window was tightly shut, and outside, a Snowy Owl was trying to enter, but its long beak couldn't penetrate the tough glass.
''Ah, it's you again.'' Isaac opened the window, and the Snowy Owl landed on his shoulder.
The Snowy Owl looked around with its neck stretching at an uncomfortable-looking angle.
Isaac curiously checked whether the Snowy Owl had similar blue feathers to the one he met in Brightstar.
Soon, he saw the Snowy Owl's chest with a few strands of blue feathers. They were also placed perfectly in the same spots.
''Hmm, why are you following me, little one?'' Isaac took it from his shoulder and held it in his palm.
The Snowy Owl didn't react to the question and kept looking in the same direction. Isaac also looked in that direction and saw nothing except broken boxes and a thick layer of dust wrapped around them.
Then, the Snowy Owl turned around and flapped its wings before flying away. After the owl left, Isaac continued looking outside the window and wondered why the same owl continued coming to him.
He closed the window and took another look in the direction of the boxes before leaving.
…
Next day.
Isaac opened his eyes and was standing on his semi-tough bed with a shimmer of light escaping through the narrow openings of curtains. He checked his interface and then left his room.
After reaching the empty living room, he was about to step outside the house. Then, without warning, a bell rang throughout the World of White, and an announcement appeared in front of every player.
[Downtime - Ready!]
[Downtime: We, Legacy Company, decided to start the first-ever Downtime for White Online to fix the bugs and fix some way the classes are being handled]
[Downtime - 23:59.59…]
''Downtime… And it lasts 1 day.'' Isaac didn't think too deeply into it and was forcefully logged out from the game.
…
In Legacy Company's Headquarters.
Arthur stood alone in the room with thousands of screens. The hundreds of chairs were slid under the tables, and the usual workers were nowhere to be seen.
Then, the sliding doors opened, and Emilia came with a long-lasting frown on her face.
''Where is everyone?'' She asked with a confused look, ''I received news that Downtime appeared out of nowhere for bug fixing.''
Arthur chuckled, ''Bug fixing… That was the excuse they thought?''
''Who?''
''The Board of Directors, of course.'' Arthur chuckled and began revealing what this all was about.
''The Board of Directors met with a god, and they revealed what would happen. In the end, they wanted to please the gods and placed the Downtime.''
He shook his head and chuckled, ''Bug fixing… Such shitty excuse.''
''Then, what is this all about?'' Emilia gulped down her incoming fears. She thought that something serious was going to happen.
''Stand aside, and watch.'' Arthur straightened his back and saw the screens flickering until three figures appeared.
Emilia sneakily walked out of the line of sight and gasped after seeing the three figures.
''God Zeus, God Ares, and God Hermes.'' Arthur gave three bows.
God Zeus was a middle-aged-looking man with long gray hair. His eyes showed a lightning pattern with similar-looking tattoos carved into his skin.
His muscular, broad-chested, well-defined shoulders were draped over with a shiny golden robe.
God Ares was a powerful-looking man with war armor covering his figure. His handsome face was wrapped around by a war helmet, and a long-handled axe was strapped on his back.
His explosive-looking muscles couldn't be hidden under the tough fabric and carcass.
God Hermes was a short man, around 160cm, with similar golden robes. He looked the most modern out of the three, with his feet slipped inside sneakers. There were also ear piercings, making his look more unique than other Gods.
His hair was quite beautiful with light blond, and his overall handsome face. His stature wasn't the most muscular. Instead, they were lean and athletic. His legs were bulging with explosive-looking muscled, giving him a great increase in speed.
The three Gods looked serious, not in a joking mood.
''Arthur…'' God Zeus took the lead and opened his mouth, ''Sorry about this, but this was needed. The spawns of demons shouldn't be aware that the players have been invited to this world.''
Arthur nodded, ''I completely understand.''
Then, God Ares frowned and looked toward the raging sky. Dark clouds emerged out of nowhere, and lightning began wreaking havoc.
''He is here!''
''See you soon, we have something to discuss about later.'' God Zeus said and closed the screen. Then, he, God Ares, and Hermes turned around to look at the sky.
From there, a massive monstrous-looking head appeared with two horns poking through his forehead. His menacing-looking red eyes caused everything they looked at to become ash.
The head was mostly skeleton with few lashes of flesh nailed on the head, and hair was nonexistent.
Then, he opened his mouth wide open. The three Gods were assaulted by the disgusting stench of stomach fluid and the scene of the skeleton's insides.
The mouth had sharp teeth and a long-spiky tongue. Then, from the depths of the mouth, lava began pouring down.
He closed his mouth, trying to keep the lava inside his mouth. Then, he inhaled deeply and vomited the lava out of his mouth.
The deadly-looking lava vomit flew across the sky, coming straight toward the three Gods, who grabbed their weapons and prepared for battle.
