Chapter 346 - God Zephyros (5)
"Ahhh!" The Players touched by leaves screamed in horror before getting enveloped by hundreds of leaves. Their bodies became thousands of tiny pixels before disappearing wholly.
King Jonathan weaved through the falling leaves. His subordinates weren't as skilled, and they started dying like flies.
"Haahhh…" He was trying desperately to dodge the leaves, but even he had his limits. His body froze after a single leaf landed on his shoulder.
King Jonathan's mind ran in overdrive, and he did the first thing that popped up in his mind. He placed the blade of his sword under his armpit and cut his arm off!
His arm dropped to the ground. Soon, the whole arm was cocooned by hundreds of leaves. However, King Jonathan was still fine even though he had a wound gushing out with blood.
On the other side of the hall, Isaac weaved through the leaves with masterful accuracy. His eyes scanned every leaf that was about to fall down on him, and then he figured out the best possible way to dodge and did that with perfect accuracy.
The White Death's ability allowed him to stay hyper-focused, which was a great help for him. However, the Avatar aimed a large portion of the leaves at him. He couldn't keep dodging forever and had to think of a way to retreat.
He took a step back, dodging another dozen or so leaves. Then, he turned around. In the distance, he could see several broken pillars filled with crevices. They seemed to be large enough for him to take shelter.
Then, out of nowhere, he felt a sharp and pointy thing touching his abdomen. When he turned his head, his body shook as he saw Kizone grinning at him while the blade of his sword rested on his hip.
"What are you doing?!" Isaac, of course, questioned Kizone's intentions. He could feel the looming threat of the leaves, and he had to move, or he would get hit by the leaves!
Kizone circled around him until Isaac perfectly blocked the leaves from hitting him. He grinned and snickered, "You are immortal. You won't die."
Isaac bit his lip and wanted to cram the barrel of his weapon into Kizone's throat and fill it with lead. However, he had to shake those thoughts away and decide on a plan to survive this ordeal.
Then, several leaves landed on his back and began seeping through his clothes and skin. His face paled, and he hoped that the White Death was still working. Soon, the leaves started moving around his skin before disappearing into pixels.
Kizone gritted his teeth after seeing the scene, "That's so unfair… How come you got such powerful skill? You are indeed Arthur's son or nephew!"
Isaac's eyebrow twitched after hearing such a crazy claim.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
They both heard loud running steps coming straight toward them. Isaac glanced behind and saw the Avatar of God Zephyros swinging his sword.
Because of the shock, Kizone forgot to keep his sword's blade in Isaac's hip, which gave him more space to move. Isaac saw this as a chance and jumped to the side.
Kizone woke up from his stupor and realized his blunder. He raised his sword and tried to cut Isaac. Then, the Avatar's sword began descending, and Kizone had to abort the attack, or he would die.
He quickly placed his shield in front of him and had to watch as the sword slowly got nearer. His face paled, and his legs became jelly. His breath became rapid and vision hazy.
Then, the Avatar's sword was chopped into the shield.
Crack!
The shield broke from a single scratch, and Kizone was sent flying away. However, he still survived. He landed on the ground and let out a grunt of pain.
He tried to breathe but felt like a lump was stuck in his throat, which stopped the air coming from the lungs.
Again, another shadow loomed over him. Kizone shakily turned toward the shadow and saw the Avatar's red eyes gazing down on him. Their eyes locked for a second before the sword struck him down.
Kizone's body became limp, and the light dimmed down in his eyes. His body began turning into pixels slowly. Starting from toes. His legs were the first to disappear, then his torso, and finally his arms and the head.
After seeing the scene, every Player had one thought, but none of them could voice it out. Except one. Isaac stood up and shouted, "Let's leave. We can't win!"
King Jonathan looked at his trembling hand and nodded, "Y-Yeah, let's leave!"
His voice was the one that unleashed the chaos. The Players dropped their weapons and fled toward the open door.
However, when they were about to take a step out, their bodies collided with an invisible wall. They started screaming and began pounding the solid air.
King Jonathan sheathed his sword and ran toward the invisible wall. Then, he saw the scene of the Players unable to leave.
His face paled, and he thought they were destined to die.
"Get out of the way!" Out of nowhere, Darkside appeared with his group of tattered players. He looked around and snorted after not seeing members of the League of Assassins anywhere.
They either died or never reached this far.
King Jonathan frowned and wondered what he was planning to do.
Darkside pulled out a weapon from his inventory. It was a dagger but seemed rather odd. The blade was somewhat illusionary and transparent.
They thought that it was a fake weapon. But then, he used it to cut the invisible wall, and something spectacular happened!
The dagger managed to slice through the invisible wall like it was nothing. Slowly, the blade began to tear the wall apart, however, he needed time, and Darkside knew it.
Darkside whipped his head around and saw Isaac looking at the Avatar. They were standing a hundred meter away from them, and for some reason, neither of them were attacking.
"You bastard!" Darkside's shout attracted Isaac's attention. He slightly angled his head to see Darkside and the group of players.
"Keep him busy!" Darkside's "order" was relatively simple. He needed time, and Isaac's immortality seemed to be the best way of doing it.
Queen Diana and Darth wanted to retort. However, Isaac's answer came soon.
"Sure." He answered and tightened his grasp on the gun. The Avatar raised his sword slowly. He couldn't care less about the others players, but the white-haired human must die!
