White Dragon Lord
Chapter 449: The Floating City Strikes!
Inside the Floating City's control room, the White Dragon Lord commanded the main tower's Tower Spirit—Tower Spirit One—to activate the Floating City.
Beneath the White Tower, deep within the Floating City's core, its heart roared to life. The Elemental Furnace ignited. Magical Energy catalyzed in complex reactions within the furnace, surging outward through crystal conduits to every corner of the city, ultimately providing the immense power needed to drive it.
The Floating City slowly ascended, casting a massive shadow across the land.
It continued to rise until it breached the sea of white clouds.
Watching this unfold through the main tower's omniscient perspective, the White Dragon Lord swelled with pride.
Now, he was about to initiate the final combat trials before the Floating City was officially deployed.
Because this weapon of war was too powerful, it could not be tested on the Nordhill Continent.
"Tower Spirit One. Initiate a spatial jump to the Star Realm. Coordinates: 15532478, 594651511, 67861322."
"Tower Spirit One acknowledges. Initiating spatial jump."
Vast quantities of elemental energy flooded out of the Floating City. In the blink of an eye, a bubble-like protective barrier materialized around it, shielding the city to ensure safe passage through the spatial jump to its destination. The moment the bubble-like barrier formed, the Floating City vanished from the sky.
On the other side, within the endless darkness of the Star Realm, the Floating City suddenly emerged.
At first, it looked like a phantom projection. A bizarre magical force field instantly pushed aside all matter within the projection's radius, clearing the space of any obstacles. With the area clear, the Floating City rapidly solidified. The entire process took less than a second.
Such was the might of the Floating City's spatial jump!
Compared to the vortex-style teleportation used by Floating Towers, this spatial jump offered massive improvements in both safety and speed. Its performance was vastly superior, and its stability practically guaranteed.
Having arrived at the ideal testing ground, the White Dragon Lord immediately began the trials.
"All personnel, assume your positions."
Within the twelve Floating Towers ringing the main tower of the Floating City, various Legendary Mages tightened their grips on their Control Cores, quietly awaiting the White Dragon Lord's command.
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"Begin!"
At his order, the twelve Floating Towers detached from the city's base. They instantly fanned out, forming a tight defensive perimeter around the Floating City.
Inside the main tower, the White Dragon Lord activated the Floating City's second ability.
The Soul-Linking Chain!
The crystal at the peak of the White Tower fired several rays of milky-white energy, linking with the surrounding Floating Towers. In turn, those adjacent towers fired their own Soul-Linking Chains, webbing themselves to the surrounding structures.
As the numerous Floating Towers connected, every cluster of four formed a perfect tetrahedron. The sprawling formation was incredibly orderly, brimming with a mysterious aesthetic beauty.
"Link complete. Information channels are stable."
Upon receiving Tower Spirit One's report, the White Dragon Lord initiated the next function.
Magic Barriers surged around the Floating City and the twelve Floating Towers. Naturally, these barriers did far more than protect their individual stations. If an attack exceeded a barrier's tolerance, it could instantly transfer a portion of the kinetic force and magic to adjacent barriers, distributing the damage evenly across the network.
For an enemy to break this unified barrier, they would either have to wait until the Floating City's energy reserves ran dry, or do what The Gods did to the Arcane Empire in ancient times: launch a massive, coordinated barrage to instantly overwhelm the barrier's maximum threshold.
But without the coordinated effort of more than ten Abomination Rank powerhouses, piercing the Floating City's Magic Barrier in a single instant was utterly impossible.
Satisfied that the defensive system was flawless, the White Dragon Lord moved on to test the Floating City's fangs—the Dimensional Annihilation Cannon.
This weapon earned its name during the trials of the Arcane Empire's first Sky City. Back then, a single shot from it pierced right through the dimensional wall, erasing all matter in its path. Hence, it was dubbed the Dimensional Annihilation Cannon.
The Elemental Furnace cranked out a colossal torrent of energy. It surged through the White Tower's fully upgraded crystal conduits, rushing toward the apex. The White Dragon Lord felt a terrifying rush of power washing past him as it pooled into the Magic Crystal at the top of the tower.
The crystal flared with a brilliance that outshone the sun. A terrifying beam of energy blasted forth. The scorching white light bathed the Star Realm, shattering space along its trajectory. Rocks, elemental energy, and everything else in its path evaporated instantly.
Inside the White Tower's control room, the White Dragon Lord stared at the massive cylindrical scar carved into the void, which stubbornly refused to heal. A profound sense of awe gripped him.
As a mighty Abomination Rank powerhouse himself, he could clearly gauge the Dimensional Annihilation Cannon's destructive yield. He suspected only powerhouses wielding Greater Divine Power or higher would dare try to block an attack of this magnitude.
"Dimensional Annihilation Cannon systems are operating normally."
"Next item. Elemental Storm."
While the Dimensional Annihilation Cannon was the Floating City's ultimate point-to-line strike, the Elemental Storm was an omnidirectional attack radiating from the city itself. That violent tempest of energy could eradicate all life in the vicinity, quite literally leaving nothing but scorched earth in its wake.
"Next item..."
Over the course of the trials, the White Dragon Lord discovered a few minor flaws in the Floating City. He activated the spatial jump once more and returned to the Nordhill Continent.
After ironing out the kinks, the White Dragon Lord tested the Floating City's various functions several more times.
After over a dozen test runs, he was absolutely certain that this newly built Floating City was ready for war.
With the Floating City in position, the Yafeiawei Empire's war machine roared to life. Every day, Warriors rallied on the empire's third-largest island—Glamorgan.
Across Glamorgan Island, countless Ogres and gnolls packed into military camps. The stationed army of Dragons could even be seen resting on the mountain peaks.
Over in the Monkenado Titan World, the Nether Panther received the evacuation order and immediately fled the danger zone.
............................
In the Overseas Archipelago, the White Dragon Lord gazed up at the starry sky from the palace gardens. Tonight, he would launch his invasion of the Monkenado Titan World. Once that happened, the ancient feud between the Dragons and the Titans would likely explode into all-out war.
The Platinum Dragon God! The Five-Headed Dragon Queen! The Gem Dragon King!
The Luminous Titan! The Black Iron Titan! The Star Titan!
The apex powerhouses of both factions would be drawn into this conflict, and there was a very real risk that they could fall in battle. Though the chances of such beings dying were slim, the possibility was undeniably real.
"Are you afraid?"
"Afraid? Why would we be afraid!" Felicia clenched her fists as if to pump herself up. "Dragons are invincible!"
"Our opponents this time are the Titans," Willy said, analyzing the situation calmly. "But with you here, brother, I believe we will emerge victorious."
Elena's eyes flickered with uncertainty. Life energy trickled from her fingertips and seeped into the plants in the garden, coaxing out beautiful, blooming flowers.
"Umm, Amos, that Sky City's Elemental Storm is too terrifying. It will kill every living thing. Promise me you'll try not to use it, okay?"
"Don't worry. Unless absolutely necessary, I won't unleash the Elemental Storm," Amos replied. "Destroying the Monkenado Titan World wouldn't do us any good anyway. After all, we need a living plane."
The White Dragon Lord planned to conquer the Monkenado Titan World and sell it off once the dust settled. The profits from auctioning off a Large Material Plane would just about cover his staggering debts.
But he was genuinely worried that the impending battle might tear the entire plane apart. The Star Titan of Rootless City—Sinzela—was the biggest wild card.
The White Dragon Lord recalled the intelligence provided by the Gem Dragon King.
The Star Titan—Sinzela!
Progeny of the Ancestral Titan, Child of the Stars, King of the Starry Sky, the Dawn of Titans...
Since ancient times, Sinzela had weathered countless battles, proving his overwhelming might time and time again. Even the Gem Dragon King couldn't gain the upper hand against him.
Like the Gem Dragon King, Sinzela had never ascended to godhood. Both entities resided in the Star Realm, both guarded their ancestral legacies, and they were natural sworn enemies.
Having crossed paths many times, the Gem Dragon King was intimately familiar with the Star Titan's arsenal.
Just as the Dragon Kings were completely unique entities within the multiverse, Sinzela was the only Star Titan in existence. He wielded the power of starlight—an energy that was bone-piercingly cold and wildly unpredictable. In combat, his power spawned countless illusions, making it nearly impossible to tell what was real and what was fake.
"Don't worry," Felicia comforted, seeing her brother lost in deep thought. "If the sky falls, the Dragon Kings will be there to hold it up..."
The moon reached its zenith.
The White Dragon Lord stood up. "Let's go! The war begins now!"
The four Dragons teleported to the Sky City together.
Under the White Dragon Lord's control, the Floating City ascended under the moonlight and vanished from the Nordhill Plane.
Within the endless chaotic spatial currents, a Floating City shielded by an energy barrier suddenly appeared. These turbulent tides were ferocious enough to leave legendary powerhouses hopelessly lost and cause severe headaches even for High-Tier Legends, yet they failed to stir a single ripple across the Floating City's barrier.
From the control room, the White Dragon Lord stared out at the distant dimensional wall. It looked like a colossal, translucent eggshell protecting the material plane inside—that was the Monkenado Titan World.
Exactly as planned! The White Dragon Lord had chosen not to teleport directly into the plane's interior. Instead, he used a spatial jump to position the Floating City right outside the dimensional wall.
Monkenado Frostwhisper had fortified the Monkenado Titan World for countless years. The White Dragon Lord had no idea what traps lay waiting inside, so he didn't dare barge directly into the plane. Instead, he intended to blast right through the dimensional wall with the Dimensional Annihilation Cannon and obliterate the Frostwhisper Tower at the center of the plane.
The Frostwhisper Tower was the primary node of the plane's Magic Tower Defense System. The moment it was destroyed, over half of Frostwhisper's defenses would instantly fail.
"Ready the Dimensional Annihilation Cannon!"
The Elemental Furnace roared into overdrive, compressing an ocean of energy into the crystal atop the White Tower.
The White Dragon Lord locked onto the target and ordered the Tower Spirit to fire.
A searing white light illuminated the endless void, completely outshining the elemental glow of the spatial currents.
Space shattered along its path. The hyper-compressed energy beam slammed into the dimensional wall, tearing a gaping hole through it as easily as paper, before piercing into the plane and striking the Frostwhisper Tower dead center.
Deep inside his tower, Monkenado Frostwhisper was poring over magical grimoires, desperately searching for a way to restore his spellcasting abilities.
Suddenly, a violent palpitation seized his chest, as if a hand were physically crushing his heart. He felt the suffocating aura of death.
"What's going on?!"
The Magic Tower Defense System hadn't issued a single warning. That meant the attack wasn't coming from inside the plane.
Could it be!
He hurriedly linked with his main tower's Tower Spirit, shifting to an omniscient view of the outside world.
In the dark night sky where the stars were fading, a blinding speck of light suddenly materialized. It expanded instantly, transforming into a devastating pillar of energy.
Frostwhisper felt as if the Reaper's scythe was already swinging down on his neck. Every hair on his body stood on end. With no time to think, he instantly teleported away.
Where he had just been standing, the Frostwhisper Tower was instantly vaporized by the descending beam. A gargantuan crater was gouged into the earth, and every speck of matter within it simply ceased to exist.
If someone had been standing beside the crater, they would have been horrified to realize that the blast had punched a hole clear through the entire plane.
Though Frostwhisper had reacted at blinding speed, his severely diminished spellcasting abilities meant his teleportation range was pitifully short. He was still caught in the shockwave of the Dimensional Annihilation Cannon.
The infamous Abomination Rank powerhouse, known throughout the multiverse, was now bleeding profusely from every pore, looking like a ghastly man of blood. He scrambled to pull out a healing potion.
Before he could even pop the cork, the sky above him violently distorted. Then, like a curtain being ripped apart, a Sky City ringed by numerous Floating Towers burst into view.
Twelve Metamagic Railgun beams shot toward him. Forced to abandon his potion, Frostwhisper had no choice but to teleport away once more.
Simultaneously, up in the Sky City, the White Dragon Lord activated the Floating City's spatial lockdown function. This severely jammed all spatial energy within the plane, ensuring none of the Titans below could escape.
Across the Monkenado Titan World, the Titans witnessed the searing white flash in the sky and heard the deafening explosion. They tried to teleport to the center of the plane to investigate, only to discover that the spatial energies were completely scrambled. They couldn't even form a Portal.
Having disrupted the space, the White Dragon Lord began rapidly chanting a spell.
Spatial Lockdown Magic Array!
Invisible chains shot out from the Sky City in every direction, completely sealing off a massive chunk of the sky. Frostwhisper instantly detected the shift in space, and his expression drastically changed.
"You..."
He tried to speak and stall for time, but his only response was a volley of blasts from the Metamagic Railguns.
Helpless, he could only fly out of the way to dodge.
In desperation, Frostwhisper sent out a distress signal to the Titan Gods.
The Luminous Titan and the Dark Titan immediately mobilized to help, but word quickly came back that they had been intercepted by the two great dragon gods.
Frostwhisper immediately realized he had walked right into a dragon scheme. But try as he might, he couldn't figure out when the Dragons had acquired a Sky City.
Just as the White Dragon Lord had never interacted with the Gem Dragon King before the Platinum Dragon God's introduction, the Star Titan of Rootless City was practically a ghost within the Titan Race.
But caught in a life-or-death crisis, Frostwhisper was forced to beg for help from Rootless City, despite rarely interacting with them.
The powerhouse's will pierced through the endless expanse of space, precisely delivering his message to the ears of the Star Titan—Sinzela.
The Titan Race powerhouse snapped his eyes open, burning with rage.
"War has begun! At the Monkenado Titan World!"
Leaving behind those words, the Star Titan vanished from his spot.
On the other side, having sealed off space and cut off Frostwhisper's escape routes, the White Dragon Lord focused his full attention on finishing off his enemy.
It was better to completely sever one finger than to merely wound all ten.
And right now, Frostwhisper was the most vulnerable finger of the Titan Race. This was the perfect opportunity to eliminate him permanently.
Wrath of Winter!
The sky ripped open like a gaping maw, spewing forth a ferocious blizzard of howling winds and snow. The massive area-of-effect magical strike was impossible to dodge. Bone-piercing cold burrowed right into Frostwhisper's body, making him feel as though his very marrow was freezing solid.
A Frost Titan was actually feeling cold!
Frostwhisper grit his teeth, a profound sense of humiliation welling up in his chest.
"White Dragon! I know it's you! Come out!"
