White Dragon Lord

Chapter 389: Wrath of the Ice and Snow Goddess

  • Next Chapter

The White Dragon Lord landed the White Tower in the Titan City Ruins. Numerous Legendary Dragons flew out of the White Tower, scattering across the ruins to overturn rubble and search for buried loot, while the High-Tier Legendary Dragons gathered before the collapsed Magic Tower.

The total value of the loot from a single Magic Tower was not considered massive to High-Tier Legendary powerhouses, but it was not a small amount either.

However, the dragons were not after the loot, but rather a map. The intelligence provided by the Storm Titan was limited, and they needed a more intuitive and specific map.

The Black King looked at the Magic Tower, which was now cemented to the ground by cooling magma.

"Everyone, according to that titan's memory, the map is hung in the Magic Tower's main hall," he said. "Let's dig around for it."

Knowing the exact location made everything much simpler. Before long, the dragons found the torn map among the rubble.

The White Dragon Lord picked up the map, which was full of holes and missing a corner. It was a simple map of the Sincaro Titan World, marking only the general layout of mountain ranges, rivers, and a few large settlements.

"Excellent. With this map, we won't have to wander around blindly."

The White Dragon Lord tucked the map away and returned to the White Tower with the other dragons.

"You have ten minutes to gather the loot."

The magically amplified voice echoed across the entire city. Hearing this, the dragons searching for loot quickened their pace, while the seven High-Tier Legendary Dragons gathered around the map indoors to discuss their next move.

"Everyone, the three continents have three separate Magic Tower Defense Systems. I suggest we first uproot the main towers of the Ice-Bound and the Lord of Red Lotus. This way, no matter what the titans plan, we will have enough breathing room to deal with it."

The White Dragon Lord's proposal received unanimous agreement from the dragons. The main tower was the core connecting the various Magic Towers; only by destroying this core would the power of the Magic Tower Defense System immediately be halved, drastically weakening the titans' home-ground advantage.

Ten minutes passed in the blink of an eye. When the gemstone atop the White Tower emitted a warning glow, the dragons returned to the tower.

The White Dragon Lord steered the White Tower toward the center of the Ice-Bound Territory. Their target was none other than the main tower of the Magic Tower Defense System.

As the White Dragon Lord piloted the tower, Willy walked into the control room.

"Brother, we found nine titan corpses inside the Tower of Flowing Wind," Willy said. "The bodies have been properly disposed of."

"Well done. Go get some rest. There might be a fierce battle ahead."

After Willy left, the White Dragon Lord deduced the state of the titans in this world based on the available information.

Based on the distribution of Magic Towers on the map, the White Dragon Lord roughly categorized the titan cities in the Sincaro Titan World into three Tiers.

Third-Tier cities lacked Magic Towers. Very few titans were willing to live in such backward places, yet these cities were the most numerous on the map.

Second-Tier cities possessed a Magic Tower, just like the Tower of Flowing Wind. There were two hundred and seventy such cities across the entire world. Assuming each Second-Tier city housed ten titans, then nearly half of the world's titans were concentrated in these locations.

First-Tier cities numbered only three in the entire Sincaro Titan World—the locations of the main towers on the three continents.

The main tower of a Magic Tower Defense System was like the capital city of a human kingdom; it went without saying that titans gathered there in droves. And the place the White Dragon Lord was about to attack was exactly this kind of city.

The invisible White Tower streaked swiftly across the sky, not pausing even when passing over titan settlements.

A mystical connection existed between the Magic Towers within the defense system. The titans must have already noticed the anomaly at the Tower of Flowing Wind and raised their guard. However, they absolutely could not know who was responsible, because even the titans inside the Tower of Flowing Wind had not known who killed them.

Faced with this situation, dispatching personnel to investigate on-site became their only option.

The White Dragon Lord's plan was to catch the continent's ruler off guard before the titans could investigate. The titan ruler could never have dreamed that after destroying the most peripheral tower, the enemy would bypass numerous other Magic Towers to launch a direct assault on the main tower.

...

The center of the continent—the main hall of the Tower of the Ice-Bound.

A burly titan knelt on the mirror-smooth ice floor, reporting to the female titan seated on the ice throne at the far end of the hall.

"Mistress, the Tower of Flowing Wind has suddenly disconnected."

The crowned female titan, Sivana Frost Dancer, frowned. She thought for a moment before recalling that the Tower of Flowing Wind was a peripheral Magic Tower located in the northeast of the continent.

"Has the garrisoned titan sent back any news?"

"There is no news at all. It's as if they suddenly vanished."

Sivana Frost Dancer's frown deepened. A sudden disconnection with no news returning meant only one of two things: either the Magic Tower had been suddenly destroyed before the garrisoned titan even had time to send a message, or the titan had defected and used a secret method to sever the connection with the other Magic Towers.

"Who is stationed at the Tower of Flowing Wind?"

"It is Tim Windguard."

Sivana Frost Dancer's gaze flickered with uncertainty. After the disappearance of the Frost Titan, Prudhomme the Ice-Bound, she had lied, claiming her husband needed to cultivate and had no heart to manage mundane affairs, thereby seizing the ruling power for herself.

But there was no such thing as a completely airtight secret in this world. Sivana Frost Dancer's lie deceived the populace, but it could not fool the Mother of Lightning and the Lord of Red Lotus. Through certain channels, the two High-Tier Legendary titans had learned that the Ice-Bound had vanished during a sub-plane plundering expedition.

However, unsure whether the Ice-Bound was dead or merely temporarily trapped, the Lord of Red Lotus and the Mother of Lightning did not dare to openly attack the Tower of the Ice-Bound. Yet, while they refrained from direct conflict on the surface, their covert actions were relentless. They steadily encroached upon the Tower of the Ice-Bound through various means, including poaching its subordinates.

So they couldn't hold back any longer!

Sivana Frost Dancer's immediate thought was that Tim Windguard had been incited to defect by the other two continents.

"Adonis, my loyal guard, take thirty frost guards to investigate the Tower of Flowing Wind. If Tim Windguard has indeed betrayed us, act accordingly. If necessary, you may execute him on the spot."

"Yes!"

Sivana Frost Dancer watched the retreating back of the frost guard captain, calculating the time. Teleporting from the Tower of the Ice-Bound to the Magic Tower closest to the Tower of Flowing Wind, traveling the rest of the way, and then teleporting back—it would take roughly two hours to figure out the situation.

But if the enemy was dead set on dealing with the Tower of the Ice-Bound, without High-Tier Legendary combat power, the tower would not last long.

Sivana Frost Dancer looked at the personal handmaiden standing beside her.

"Ayla, take Prince Abra to the Gloomy Sanctuary." (Note: The Gloomy Sanctuary is the sacred domain of Astraeus, the God of the Dark Titans.)

"Your Majesty...?!"

"Don't panic. I am merely taking precautions. The situation has not collapsed to that extent yet. Even if an all-out war breaks out, with the Magic Tower Defense System in place, we might not be entirely without the power to fight back."

Rather than comforting her trusted handmaiden, it was more accurate to say that Sivana Frost Dancer was comforting herself.

The handmaiden left as well. Left alone in the spacious hall, Sivana Frost Dancer leaned back against the throne and waited.

Time slipped away without her noticing, and two hours passed in the blink of an eye.

"Your Majesty!"

Suddenly, a titan guard rushed in, so panicked that he even forgot the etiquette of kneeling before the queen.

"Lord Adonis has sent back news! A massive number of dragon footprints were found in the ruins of the Tower of Flowing Wind! The enemies are dragons!!!"

"What?!"

Sivana Frost Dancer stood up in sheer astonishment.

"Dragons?! Are you sure there is no mistake?!"

"We have repeatedly confirmed it through magical messages. Lord Adonis even sent back a magical recording via the Magic Tower."

With that, the titan guard pulled up the recording. A glowing screen made of magical energy materialized in the air.

It was an image looking down at the ground from a bird's-eye view. In the picture, the city had been practically leveled to the ground. The Tower of Flowing Wind had collapsed, houses were shattered, and the blanket of frost had not yet completely melted. Cooled magma submerged the building foundations, and dense clusters of dragon footprints dotted the hardened rock.

Sivana Frost Dancer stared at this scene, speechless for a long time.

"Lord Adonis is currently rallying troops to search for the dragons' tracks. He requests Your Majesty's instructions."

The titan guard's voice pulled the titan queen out of her daze. Thoughts raced through her mind like lightning.

This dragon army had been able to destroy the Tower of Flowing Wind in an instant, leaving the garrisoned titan with no time even to send a message. This clearly demonstrated their immense power. There was absolutely no way the Tower of the Ice-Bound could stand against them alone.

"Notify all major Magic Towers to enter a state of war! Prepare for a surprise attack by the dragons!"

"Notify Adonis! All regional resources are at his disposal! Find those dragons as quickly as possible!"

"Send a message to the Mother of Lightning and the Lord of Red Lotus! Tell them that the dragons have invaded! The Sincaro Titan World must stand united!"

...

Order after order was issued, and the entire Tower of the Ice-Bound rapidly whirred into motion.

Sivana Frost Dancer donned her battle armor, pacing anxiously on the platform before the throne. She recalled the records of dragon invasions in their inherited memories. The outcome of such events was always the same without exception: the titans suffered catastrophic casualties.

"Damn it! It isn't the ancient era anymore! Why would these cursed dragons suddenly invade?!"

Dragons invading titan planes and titans invading dragon planes were common occurrences in the ancient era. However, with the drastic decline in both races' populations today, such an event was incredibly rare.

"Warning! Unknown high-energy flying object detected! Unknown high-energy flying object detected! Unknown high-energy flying object detected!"

Before the Tower Spirit's warning finished, Sivana Frost Dancer immediately teleported to the control room of the Tower of the Ice-Bound. She discovered the White Tower flying rapidly toward them from the distance. Around the White Tower, the densely concentrated magical energy had coalesced into something almost tangible, as if all the magical elements in heaven and earth had been drawn into one place.

The more magical energy gathered, the greater the power of the spell.

Horrified, Sivana Frost Dancer immediately activated all of the defensive mechanisms in the Tower of the Ice-Bound.

A translucent ice-blue shield enveloped the tower, and an Ice Shield materialized in front of the towering structure, protecting the Magic Tower behind it. Even with this dual protection, Sivana Frost Dancer still felt unsafe. Her mouth rapidly chanted a spell.

Before her incantation could finish, overwhelming waves of magic descended from the sky.

Meteorites trailing long tails of blazing flame tore through the atmosphere. Pitch-black clouds formed instantly, pouring down lightning as thick as barrels. Energy surging from deep underground frantically scoured the protective energy barrier at the city's base. The earth trembled, and dazzling yet deadly magical arrays spewed high-energy elemental particles...

In the blink of an eye, the magic struck the shield of the Tower of the Ice-Bound. Violent shockwaves from the explosions propagated in all directions, slamming into the surrounding buildings. The massive structures built of magic and stone shattered as if made of paper. The deafening roar of the blasts left the ears of the titans who hadn't managed to hide inside the tower ringing loudly.

The Tower of the Ice-Bound was protected by magic, but for everything outside the magical shield, there was nothing left to do but pray for the Goddess of Fortune's favor.

Inside the White Tower, the White Dragon Lord chanted a spell with the tower's assistance while observing the magical collision in the distance.

Under the combined bombardment of the six High-Tier Legendary Dragons and the multitude of other dragons, the energy shield outside the Tower of the Ice-Bound couldn't hold on for even a single second. It dissolved into pure elemental energy and dissipated into the air, and the massive Ice Shield shattered right after it.

Just as the magic was about to strike the body of the Tower of the Ice-Bound, an Ice Shield suddenly appeared, blocking the spells that were already at the end of their momentum.

At that moment, the White Dragon Lord's incantation ended.

Forbidden Spell—Wrath of the Ice and Snow Goddess!

The light between heaven and earth suddenly dimmed, as if night had fallen prematurely. Snowflakes the size of palms fluttered down, enveloping a thousand meters around the Tower of the Ice-Bound.

The first snowflake landed atop a straight coniferous tree. The instant it made contact, ice began to spread rapidly down the tree from where the snowflake had landed.

Even more terrifying than the ice spreading over the surface was what happened inside the tree. If one were to slice open the frozen branches of the conifer at that moment, they would see that the internal tissues had been frozen into icy debris by the frost energy.

As the snowflakes fell onto the Tower of the Ice-Bound, a layer of white frost veiled its surface, growing thicker and thicker. The terrifying cold seeped straight into the interior of the Magic Tower, destroying the energy crystals and other structures within.

The Tower Spirit no longer responded to Sivana Frost Dancer's calls. Her body frozen stiff and unable to move, despair filled Sivana Frost Dancer's heart as her consciousness was gradually swallowed by the endless cold.

Seeing the crystal atop the Tower of the Ice-Bound go dark, the White Dragon Lord breathed a sigh of relief.

The Legendary Rank Level magic unleashed by the six High-Tier Legends, combined with the various spells cast by three hundred dragons, and topped off by the Forbidden Spell the White Dragon Lord cast using the terrifying amplification of the White Tower, had finally destroyed the main tower of the Northern Continent's Magic Tower Defense System—the Tower of the Ice-Bound—in a single wave.

From this moment on, there was no longer any force in the Northern Continent of the Sincaro Titan World that could pose a threat to the White Tower.

The coverage of the Wrath of the Ice and Snow Goddess was a two-thousand-meter diameter circle. Ironically, many of the low-level giants living in the outskirts of the city survived. The giants stared in horror at the completely frozen inner city.

A moment later, the giants snapped back to reality and fled for their lives away from the White Tower suspended in the sky.

Roar!

Accompanied by the excited roars of the dragons, numerous dragons flew out from inside the White Tower, chasing after the giants fleeing in all directions. Dragon Breath of various colors swept across the land.

The High-Tier Legendary Dragons had no interest in hunting down the titans' vassals. They waited quietly for the lingering effects of the Wrath of the Ice and Snow Goddess to dissipate.

Once the external interference ceased, the magical energy within the ice gradually dissipated back into nature, and the freezing temperatures caused by the Forbidden Spell began to rise.

After waiting for about half an hour, the temperature around the Tower of the Ice-Bound finally rose to negative eighty degrees Celsius, a level that no longer hindered the movements of the seven High-Tier Legendary Dragons.
