White Dragon Lord

Chapter 387: Fall of the Titans

  • Next Chapter

The wailing horn blast carried a strange magic. Schools of fish darted through the sea in terror like headless flies, while seabirds on the island flapped their wings in panic, taking to the sky with a chaotic cacophony of chirps and squawks.

The horn blast rode the strong winds, reaching a crude murloc village in the shallows on the edge of a distant island. The murlocs stopped their work and looked toward the source of the sound. Their hearts pounded wildly, as if a great disaster were imminent.

A murloc climbed onto a roof to gaze into the distance, only to see a massive wall rising from the far horizon. It froze in sheer shock.

The colossal wall drew closer and closer until it filled the murlocs' vision. Finally, one of them snapped out of its daze.

"Tsunami! Run!"

As if a switch had been flipped, the murlocs hastily dropped their heavy loads and sprinted toward the azure sea.

Every adult murloc had received compulsory education from the Afiaiv Kingdom. They knew that when a tsunami struck, the ocean floor was actually the safest place to be. Diving into a submarine trench was even better.

A few minutes later, the tsunami reached the island, smashing into the crude murloc village built from wood and branches. The massive impact force reduced the simple structures back to their raw materials. The surging seawater then swept over the island, uprooting the coastal trees.

The raging waters surged straight up the island's slope until they washed over the highest peak, carrying mud, sand, and uprooted trees as they continued rushing into the distance.

The moment the King of the Tides blew the conch horn, the White Dragon Lord sensed the peculiar magic carried within its sound. He immediately stored away the Portal on the island and steered the White Tower into the sky.

The two Floating Towers faced each other across the distant sky, while down below, wave after wave of tsunamis scoured everything off the ocean's surface.

"Prepare yourselves!"

At almost the exact same moment, the White Dragon Lord and the Mother of Lightning drove their Floating Towers toward each other. Just as they were about to clash, the White Dragon Lord activated all of the White Tower's trump cards.

Moon's Protection!

A bubble-like energy barrier enveloped the White Tower.

Soul-Linking Chain!

Hundreds of energy chains connected the flock of dragons to the White Tower, though the chains attached to the High-Tier Legendary Dragons were noticeably thicker than those on the ordinary dragons.

Spatial Lockdown!

Ripples radiated outward in all directions from the White Tower, locking down the space they touched.

The Metamagic Railgun began charging!

Confident that his side held absolute superiority in strength, the White Dragon Lord chose not to activate the Ice Armor Cladding.

In just a short minute, the two Floating Towers crossed hundreds of thousands of meters. The Metamagic Railgun and roaring lightning intertwined in the air, the two immensely powerful energies annihilating each other. A fierce shockwave spread in all directions, pressing clear, crater-like indentations into the seawater below.

Seeing their lightning gradually suppressed, the Titans inside the Floating Tower could no longer sit still.

"Attack together!"

The Lord of Red Lotus and the King of the Tides led the Titans out of the Floating Tower. Condensing Spears of the Titans in their hands, they split left and right to bypass the frontal battlefield, charging toward the White Tower from the flanks.

The White Dragon Lord watched the charging Titans with excitement. This was exactly what he had been waiting for—the Titans leaving their tower.

"Stick to the plan!"

The White Dragon Lord calculated the distance and the Titans' speed. Once the time was right, he rapidly chanted an incantation. Beside him, Crimson Flame Streamer and the Matron of Venom cast their spells just as quickly.

Mass Slow — Empowered!

The Titans charging into the White Dragon Lord's casting range suddenly found their feet covered in a layer of earthy-yellow energy. Their legs felt as heavy as lead, and their speed plummeted.

"Hmph! Blessing of the Sea!"

A torrent of water surged from the King of the Tides' body, weaving back and forth among the Titans. It coated them in a watery film, sharply alleviating the pressure on them.

The slowing spell hardly affected the Lord of Red Lotus at all. He took the lead, thrusting his sharp Magma Spear straight at the Moon's Protection.

By this time, Crimson Flame Streamer and the Matron of Venom had also finished their incantations.

Legendary Magic — Fivefold Gravity!

Legendary Divine Spell — Curse of the Earth!

Two streaks of energy—one earthy-yellow, the other transparent—shot rapidly toward the Lord of Red Lotus and the King of the Tides, vanishing into their bodies in the blink of an eye.

His body weight abruptly increasing fivefold, the Lord of Red Lotus staggered, nearly unable to maintain his flight. The King of the Tides also felt as if a massive boulder was pressing down on his back, restricting his movements.

The Fivefold Gravity and the Curse of the Earth served as the planned attack signals. A chorus of roars echoed inside the White Tower, and under the leadership of the four High-Tier Legendary Dragons, the dragon horde charged out.

Flame of the Molten Mountain was followed by the fire-attribute dragons, their scorching light roasting the surrounding air until it shimmered and warped.

The King of the Thunder Prison led a flight of blue dragons. As they flapped their wings, arcs of lightning danced across their scales, filling the air with the pungent, ionized scent of ozone.

The Black King was followed by a host of green and black dragons. Sickly green toxic flames brewed in their maws, while acid capable of instantly corroding steel rolled in their throats.

Golden Bulwark—the Ancient Gold Dragon—led the white dragons and a handful of Metallic Dragons. Whether in numbers or sheer imposing might, their formation did not lose out to the others.

Taking on human forms, the Matron of Venom and Crimson Flame Streamer stepped out of the White Tower. Their roles in this battle were support and reinforcement. The Emerald Necklace on the Matron of Venom's fair neck flashed with light.

Legendary Divine Spell — Tiamat's Gaze!

Tiamat's Gaze was a Legendary Rank Level support divine spell. The priestess channeled divine power bearing Tiamat's aura to summon a phantom of the Five-Headed Dragon Queen. Under the gaze of this phantom, the Chromatic Dragons gained an all-around boost, while the enemy suffered a wave of mental suppression.

The Chromatic Dragons immediately felt completely invigorated. Their heartbeats accelerated, and their bodies brimmed with power. The Metallic Dragons, on the other hand, remained entirely unaffected. When the Titans saw the phantom of the Five-Headed Dragon Queen behind the dragon horde, a chilling dread rose from the depths of their hearts, and their bodies stiffened.

Crimson flames, dazzling lightning, sickly green toxic fire, viscous acid, and freezing frost breath cascaded down on the Titans from all directions. The Titans who failed to break free from Tiamat's Gaze in time were directly felled in the first volley. The number of Titans dropped by a third in an instant.

The surviving Titans were scared out of their wits. They struggled desperately against the Dragon Breath, but they wouldn't be able to hold out for much longer.

"What is happening?!"

Although he didn't know which part of their plan had gone wrong, the Lord of Red Lotus knew they were in grave danger. Shielding himself with a magma barrier, he attempted to break out toward the Mother of Lightning Floating Tower, but Flame of the Molten Mountain and the King of the Thunder Prison had already locked their sights on him.

The King of the Tides was handled by the mighty Black King and the Ancient Gold Dragon. Because the battlefield was over the ocean, Crimson Flame Streamer—acting as emergency support and a deterrent force—also focused his guard primarily on the King of the Tides. Meanwhile, the White Dragon Lord's opponent was the Mother of Lightning.

With a clear advantage in strength and a well-prepared ambush catching the enemy off guard, the Titans instantly routed before the sharply organized dragon army. Due to the Spatial Lockdown and the slowing magic, the Titans couldn't even teleport or flee.

The White Dragon Lord kept a close eye on his opponent. Just as he expected, upon seeing the dragon horde strike and her army collapse, the Mother of Lightning decisively abandoned her encircled forces, steered her Floating Tower around, and fled.

"Hmph! Smart move!"

Since he needed the White Tower to maintain the Spatial Lockdown and seal off the Titans' retreat, the White Dragon Lord did not pursue the Mother of Lightning.

Without the Mother of Lightning to contest the White Tower, the White Dragon Lord freed up his hands and joined the siege against the Titans. Round after round of the Metamagic Railgun blasted into the Titans, turning an already one-sided battle into an absolute slaughter.

Soon enough, every last legendary Titan was wiped out. The Lord of Red Lotus held on for ten minutes before being swallowed by overwhelming Dragon Breath. Afterward, the King of the Tides also fell under the combined assault of the Black King, Crimson Flame Streamer, and the Ancient Gold Dragon.

"Everyone, collect the spoils! There are still Titans waiting for us on the continent!"

The dragons immediately moved into action, fishing out the Titan corpses that had fallen into the sea.

Having only just enough time to store all the Titan corpses inside the White Tower, the White Dragon Lord steered it forward, leading the dragons toward the continent of the Muxinge Plane. After all, there were still many Magic Towers left on the mainland.

But when the White Dragon Lord arrived, all he found were the self-destructed ruins of the Magic Towers.

"This Mother of Lightning is ruthless enough!"

It wasn't hard to guess that once the Mother of Lightning escaped the Spatial Lockdown, she immediately ordered the Titans garrisoning the Magic Towers to self-destruct the structures before evacuating the Muxinge Plane.

With the enemy defeated, it was time for the universally beloved phase of dividing the spoils. The dragons pooled all the loot together and appraised its value.

The seven High-Tier Legends earned the right to pick their spoils first. The White Dragon Lord chose the King of the Tides' conch horn; the tsunamis it summoned had left a deep impression on him. Flame of the Molten Mountain got its wish and claimed the head of the Lord of Red Lotus, while the other dragons each received their own rewards.

For the Legendary Rank Level dragons, the White Dragon Lord offered two choices: they could either take their allocated loot, or trade it to the White Tower in exchange for an equivalent value in gold coins, gems, and other treasures. This decision was widely welcomed by the dragons.

"Are you all planning to just leave like this?"

The Black King called out, stopping the dragons as they turned to leave.

"Don't forget! We still have the Sincaro Titan World waiting for us!"

A flash of shock crossed the White Dragon Lord's eyes. He hadn't expected the Black King's appetite to be so immense, but thinking it over carefully, there really was a chance of success. Right now, the Mother of Lightning was the only high-tier combatant left in the Sincaro Titan World.

The Black King continued, "From what I know, the Sincaro Titan World has three continents, each controlled by one of three High-Tier Legendary Titans. The Lord of Red Lotus has already died here, and the Frost Titan—Prudhomme the Ice-Bound—hasn't been seen in decades. It is highly likely he is already dead. With only the Mother of Lightning left, are there so many of us dragons that we should fear her?"

The dragons discussed it amongst themselves. The majority felt it was worth a try, while a small minority thought it was far too dangerous to invade a medium-sized plane that the Titans had cultivated for an unknown stretch of time.

"Black King, we need more intelligence before we can determine whether we can break into the Sincaro Titan World."

"The three continents of the Sincaro Titan World are arranged in a triangle. The bitterly cold lands to the north are the territory of the Frost Titan, Prudhomme the Ice-Bound. The western continent, filled with volcanoes, is the territory of the Lord of Red Lotus, and the eastern continent, thick with towering mountains, is the territory of the Mother of Lightning..."

As the Black King explained the layout, some of the dragons fell into deep thought, while others looked toward the Matron of Venom.

Whenever they didn't know what to choose, even dragons looked forward to the guidance of the gods.

"I need to pray to Her Majesty the Dragon Queen."

With that, the Matron of Venom pulled out a pocket-sized idol of Tiamat. She knelt before it, clasping her hands with fingers interlocked, and began to pray in a low whisper.

Receiving a prayer from a legendary priestess, the Dragon Queen responded quickly. It wasn't long before the Matron of Venom opened her eyes, a sharp light gleaming in her gaze.

The White Dragon Lord sensed that the aura radiating from the Matron of Venom had grown noticeably stronger. It seemed she had gained quite a bit from this.

"Her Majesty the Dragon Queen protects us."

The Matron of Venom stood up in sheer excitement and faced the horde of dragons.

"Everyone! Her Majesty the Dragon Queen supports our invasion of the Sincaro Titan World! And she has promised to provide us with assistance when necessary!"

The dragons immediately exploded into an uproar. Seeing this, the White Dragon Lord knew the invasion of the Sincaro Titan World was now like an arrow already notched on the bowstring—there was no turning back.

Having locked in their decision to attack, the seven High-Tier Legendary Dragons discussed where they would descend, but a dispute broke out among them regarding the landing zone.

"It's best to descend on the Lord of Red Lotus's continent. He just died, so his subordinates are bound to be in complete chaos. We can seize the opportunity to wipe out all those Titans."

"I think we should directly assault the Mother of Lightning! We'll crush her in one fell swoop and bring the entire world under our control."

"The Mother of Lightning isn't useless trash. By the time we manage to kill her, the Titans on the other continents will have long since fled!"

"..."

The White Dragon Lord analyzed the situation in his mind. This invasion of the Sincaro Titan World could broadly branch into two scenarios.

The first was to directly attack the Mother of Lightning. However, once she fell, the Titans of the entire world would inevitably scatter like birds and beasts. The result would be the dragons occupying the whole world, but the Titans of the other two continents managing to escape cleanly.

The second was to descend on another continent and start their sweep from there. Under the pressure of survival, all the Titans in the world would definitely rally around the Mother of Lightning. When that time came, it would be another massive battle. Under such circumstances, the tides of war would be hard to predict, because the Mother of Lightning would very likely call on other Titan worlds for backup. But one thing was certain: the number of Titan casualties would sharply increase.

"Lady Gelina, Her Majesty the Dragon Queen mentioned providing support when necessary. Just how far does this support extend?"

The Matron of Venom gave the White Dragon Lord a deeply meaningful look.

"Her Majesty the Dragon Queen left a mark within my body. If necessary, I can contact her at any time."

The dragons were inwardly surprised. They hadn't expected Tiamat to go to such lengths. Since the Five-Headed Dragon Queen was anchoring the rear, the horde of dragons no longer had anything to worry about and leaned much more toward killing as many Titans as possible.

The Black King said, "I suggest we descend on the Ice-Bound's territory. The master of that land has been missing for a long time, so his domain has certainly been deeply infiltrated by the Lord of Red Lotus and the Mother of Lightning. Its internal factions are a complicated mess, meaning the Titans there have the lowest level of cohesion."

The King of the Thunder Prison asked, "Black King, what if the Ice-Bound isn't dead, and is merely hibernating?"

The White Dragon Lord spoke up, "I can confirm that the Frost Titan, Prudhomme the Ice-Bound, is already dead, because he died by my own hands."

The dragons couldn't help but turn to the White Dragon Lord, their gazes carrying scrutiny and suspicion. In response, the White Dragon Lord retrieved the Ice-Bound's relic from the White Tower's collection room—a Magic Wondrous Item Ring. Inside the ring was recorded the image of a female Titan.

"That's right! This is the Frost Titan Prudhomme the Ice-Bound's wife—Shyvana Frost-Dancer!"
