White Dragon Lord

Chapter 226: Arriving in the Madilan World

The White Dragon Lord didn't have to wait long before a resounding dragon's roar echoed through the distant sky.

The gold dragon Leopold Chodmartin flew toward Glamorgan.

To be safe, the White Dragon Lord had hired this high-tier legendary gold dragon for the price of a chest of elemental crystals and a chest of mithril.

Originally, the White Dragon Lord had wanted to invite the two silver dragons he was more familiar with. For some unknown reason, however, Grand Duke Silver Dragon was nowhere to be found, and the Silver Dragon Scholar had pressing matters to attend to.

Left with no other choice, the White Dragon Lord contacted his newly acquainted colleague, the gold dragon Leopold Chodmartin.

As for the chromatic dragon Flame of the Molten Mountain and the Thunder Tyrant who hadn't joined the council? That had to be a joke.

Amos would bet anything that if those two discovered the vast quantities of elemental crystals in the Madilan World, they would immediately start hiking prices opportunistically, if not turn hostile entirely.

Bathed in the gentle morning light, the gold dragon Leopold Chodmartin landed before the White Dragon Lord.

"Councilor Amos, I'm not late, am I?"

The White Dragon Lord glanced at the sun that had just crested the horizon.

"Of course not. Your timing is perfect. We simply arrived a step early."

Leopold nodded to the dragon brother and dragon sister in greeting before turning his gaze to the fully equipped army of subordinates. He noted that all three thousand ogres were at least intermediate tier professionals. Factoring in their natural creature levels, every single one possessed high-tier combat prowess.

Lined up before the monster army were rows of three-meter-long crossbow cannons and large bundles of bolts. The ammunition gleamed with a cold light in the sun, prompting a sigh of admiration from the gold dragon.

"Councilor Amos, this force of yours would be considered an elite unit even on the Blood War Battlefield."

Leopold Chodmartin had fought tooth and nail on the Blood War Battlefield himself and had even slain a demon warlord. Such high praise from him made the White Dragon Lord feel a swell of pride.

When it came to highly prolific races like the murlocs and gnolls, the White Dragon Lord had always allowed them to develop naturally. The ogres, however, were entirely governed under strict militarized management.

Under the threat of Gurgalu's spiked club, all the small and medium-sized ogre tribes had been forcefully merged into a single massive clan to facilitate this militarized approach.

From birth, every ogre underwent specialized testing. The results dictated each infant's future professional development.

Under the rule of White Castle, every ogre spent their childhood engaged in relentless daily training and study, while the castle took care of their food, clothing, and shelter.

Once they reached adulthood, the ogres would join White Castle's army. After ten years of service, they could choose to either retire or continue their military careers.

However, the vast majority chose to remain in the army. Aside from the loyalty to White Castle instilled in them since childhood, dragon bloodline conversion was a major incentive; earning military merit was the fastest path to becoming a white dragon subordinate.

An elite force cultivated from childhood in this manner was utterly flawless in both strength and loyalty.

Hearing the gold dragon's praise, Gurgalu proudly puffed out his chest. The expansion of the ogre race couldn't have happened without his efforts as their grand chieftain.

"Master, the warriors can't wait to crush our enemies into dust!"

The White Dragon Lord gazed at the portal, which was currently nothing more than a bare frame, and issued his command.

"Mage Corps! Prepare the magic ritual! Activate the portal!"

A group of about a hundred spellcasters clad in uniform mage robes stepped toward the portal. They were a diverse mix of races, including ogres, murlocs, gnolls, and even a few kobolds and lizardmen.

These varied mages all shared one trait: they radiated intense magical fluctuations. Every single one was a genuine high-tier mage.

The Mage Corps took their positions, forming a large ring around the portal, and waited in silence for the White Dragon Lord's order.

"Begin the ritual!"

The mages waved their staves in a rhythmic pattern, chanting obscure incantations. Magical energy from the air was channeled into the portal. As the ritual progressed, the magical energy surging into the portal grew increasingly dense and rapid.

But the portal was like a bottomless pit, greedily swallowing all the magical energy directed its way.

Finally, ripples of magical energy resembling water appeared around the edges of the circular portal, slowly spreading toward the center.

The magic ritual continued for an hour.

The portal was finally fully activated. Magical energy rippled within it like quicksilver, resembling a vertically suspended lake surface.

The White Dragon Lord nodded to the gold dragon beside him and took the lead, stepping toward the portal with the gold dragon following close behind.

Bringing up the rear, Gurgalu waved the Combat Staff of Caucasus.

"Warriors of the ogres! Warriors of the trolls! Move out!"

...

The Madilan World.

In a hidden valley on the Great Orc Prairie.

A portal identical to the one in Glamorgan stood right in the center of the valley.

The ancient gold dragon, Adelaide Leslie, personally stood guard beside it.

At last, the portal stirred. Adelaide Leslie hastily stood up. Under the ancient gold dragon's expectant gaze, the magical energy on the portal's surface grew increasingly dense.

Eventually, it pooled into a shimmering, silvery liquid surface, and a moment later, the White Dragon Lord stepped through the portal.

The White Dragon Lord nodded in greeting to the ancient gold dragon before stepping aside.

The gold dragon Leopold Chodmartin emerged right after him. Taking his place beside the White Dragon Lord and the ancient gold dragon, he struck up a conversation with the older dragon, whom he was meeting for the first time.

The White Dragon Lord kept his eyes on the portal as the ogre army marched out in perfect formation.

It wasn't long before the ogre army had fully assembled in the valley.

The White Dragon Lord gave the ancient gold dragon another nod.

Understanding the signal, Adelaide Leslie let out a roar toward the young dragons sunbathing on the hillside.

The underage dragons scrambled to their feet, flapping their wings and flying toward the portal.

Tears welled in Adelaide Leslie's eyes as the young dragons flew toward the portal; these were the very first dragons to escape the cage that was the Madilan World!

The White Dragon Lord called out to instruct the younglings.

"Children! Once you reach Nordhill, two of our kin will look after you. Listen to their arrangements!"

On the other side of the portal, Felicia was overjoyed as she watched the young dragons fly out.

These were all followers of Her Majesty the Dragon Queen!

As for the metallic dragons, they were all just gold coins.

At least, that was how Felicia comforted herself.

Once the last of the young dragons had passed through, the White Dragon Lord stored the portal away.

He had no other choice. The Madilan World was entirely devoid of magical elements, meaning the portal could only be sustained by burning through elemental crystals. Otherwise, Amos wouldn't have needed to custom-order a portal in the first place—the council had plenty of standard ones in stock.
