Chapter 1589 -1588: Be Good, Don’t Make Trouble

He was dressed in a formal suit, exhibiting a gentlemanly seriousness.

Eva Nightingale was still wearing a burgundy evening gown from the banquet, wrapped in a black coat from her neckline to her feet, completely covering her high heels.

Eva said, “No, I’m not hungry or hot, but why are you holding me?” She wanted to tell him to let her go, but the words got stuck when she faced the man’s deep and mysterious eyes.

Eva’s first instinct was that he didn’t mean any harm.

Instead, he seemed rather protective?

In fact, you can tell how someone feels about you from their eyes and the vibe you get.

“Sorry,” Victor Gale said, yet he didn’t release her.

Initially, Victor planned to take her back to the hotel from the hospital, but something came up on the way. The agreed meeting location was at the KTV for contract discussions.

Despite this, Victor still took her back to the hotel, and as he let her go, he remarked, “Don’t leave.”

He was puzzled, suspecting her lack of security might be related to the accident, and given the rush, he had no choice but to bring her along.

This KTV was located in the bustling city center.

Eva hadn’t been to a KTV in a long time, and without even looking up, she confirmed she hadn’t visited this establishment before.

Meanwhile, the banquet at Clan Grant’s manor was still ongoing.

“Has Eva returned?” Amelia Grant asked from her wheelchair, pushed by a maid behind her.

“Yes, Miss. Tonight she came to the manor for the banquet, but it’s been a long while since she’s been seen in the banquet hall. It’s uncertain if she truly left.”

Because the manor is quite large, not seeing Eva doesn’t confirm she actually went home!

“Hmph, she probably went off with some man to a hotel—how could a seductive woman like her go back so early!” Amelia felt quite upset and her words grew increasingly harsh. “How could the President have chosen to marry such a woman!”

“Miss, there are many people here, please lower your voice.”

“Hah, what’s there to worry about? Am I not speaking the truth? These days, outstanding men never lack women; but the women by their side might not all be good.” Amelia was bitter, “I’ve been so kind to the President, why is this happening to me?”

“During my years of study in Colombia, I’ve worked very hard, and many men pursued me, but I never accepted any of them. For what? Just to ensure I’m fit for an exceptional man upon returning home. But what does Eva count for?” Amelia grew increasingly angry, “She doesn’t even have a proper degree!”

“She’s merely the fallen daughter of the Nightingale Family, has nothing to her name, and yet dares to compete with me!”

Amelia cursed without noticing the person who entered behind her.

“Miss Amelia Grant, if you have the courage, speak your mind in front of people. What’s the point of gossiping behind others’ backs? Does that prove you’re impressive?”

Amelia turned her head in surprise, seeing a woman in a blue dress—Carla Carr.

“Oh, it’s the Admiral’s wife!”

Carla said, “It’s me.” She paused, stepped forward, and looked at Amelia, saying, “Regarding this accident, I heard it was Miss Amelia’s driver who drove into Eva Nightingale. She’s my confidante, my best friend. Shouldn’t Miss Amelia apologize to her face-to-face?”

Carla carried herself with swagger—it might really be because Admiral spoiled her too much!
