Chapter 1468: Chapter 1467: Coming to Pick Her Up with a Squadron of Planes
That Black Card was given to her by Alexander Kingsley on the day they left the Summer Palace, and Carla Carr didn’t act polite at all—once she had it, she just swiped it like crazy.
If she didn’t spend enough, Alexander would definitely be unhappy!
"Miss, your husband must be really handsome and from a great family, right? You’re so beautiful, you two are totally a perfect match!"
"Once I finish your updo and put a diamond tiara on you, you’ll be the most gorgeous bride ever..."
Carla bit her lip. "My husband is handsome, and he spoils me a lot. I’m the one who’s a bit willful usually. Today I’m just saying yes to his proposal, it’s not the actual engagement ceremony yet, so it doesn’t need to be that grand. We can skip the tiara..."
The makeup artist smiled and followed Carla’s wishes—customer first.
...
The full-length mirror inlaid with golden totems reflected the beauty’s tall, slender figure.
Her face was exquisite, her features sculpted.
The bright lights made her wedding dress sparkle, her skin glowing fair and smooth.
Carla thought that today might be the best decision she had ever made.
This was one decision she would never regret for the rest of her life.
Back when she didn’t know Alexander and was still openly dating Albert Kingsley, she had never imagined being this bold with Albert—but Alexander was different.
Carla slowly came to understand...
Back then, what she felt for Albert was just the first stirrings of puppy love, a momentary crush; but Alexander was the man who ran through her entire youth, who’d seeped into her bones and blood, the one who truly left an indelible mark on her. That was love.
It had already been almost two hours since she’d made the phone call.
All her styling was finally done, and now there was only joy and nervousness left.
She took out her phone and typed a text to Eva Nightingale: "Eva, this time, I’m really getting married."
At the same time, she had no idea that a certain someone had kept his promise, rushing to City A through wind and dust.
Alexander was still in uniform, bringing his personal guard and arriving with a squad of aircraft.
Special forces soldiers in tight black combat gear surrounded the tall, broad-shouldered man as they walked into the hotel.
Whoa—
Everyone was dumbstruck!
They were so dazzled by this crowd of insanely handsome soldiers that they were completely out of it, even forgetting to scream!
Holy shit!
There was just no better word for it than holy shit!
Too fucking handsome!
Everyone stared, utterly stunned, the whole place erupting—
Carla had her head lowered, eyes locked on the screen as she messaged Eva, totally oblivious to the man behind her slowly drawing near, until he finally reached out and pulled her into his arms.
The movement was smooth and fluid as he bent down, slipping his hands in behind her waist and under her knees.
Carla was caught off guard, suddenly falling into his embrace, her face bumping into his solid chest. Only then did she snap out of it. "Alex—"
"Don’t talk." He spoke, watching her for two seconds. "Baby, you’re stunning..."
With that, he leaned in and gently kissed her lips. This surprise was beyond anything he’d expected...
Maybe neither of them had thought they’d end up surprising each other.
In the distance, the women on-site were so weak in the knees they could barely stand. "Oh my god, turns out some big officer came to pick up his little wifey. I’m dying of envy..."
"So jealous..."
Everyone watched as the man carried the woman out of the hotel in a princess carry and boarded a small helicopter.
The helicopter headed for the military airport.
Carla didn’t know that there, someone had painstakingly prepared for her a grand, romantic, and extravagant proposal ceremony.
It was the kind of proposal she’d never even dare to dream of in her entire life...
Very soon, the small helicopter landed at the military airport in City A, touching down in the middle of a sea of fiery red roses.
