Chapter 1451 -1360: Titan Attack

“Our forces reported from the front that there are two thousand isolated clan troops at Marsh Slope.” Under the tent made of steel pipes and oil cloth, the phosphorescent lamp swayed with shadows.

Unlike past battlefields, Horn previously commanded on the front lines, but now it’s not possible.

In this battlefield, there are approximately 170,000 troops engaged in combat on both sides, and Horn does not have the ability to be in multiple places at once.

At this moment, he can only rely on the various levels of Battle Commanders and Corps Commanders.

Just like when he first raised our flag, Horn knows it’s time to let go.

He himself is responsible for a larger battlefield and the command and coordination at the military level.

In a certain sense, the coordination at the military level has ended, and now it depends on how the chiefs of the various armies perform.

Officers and staff come in and out of the command center, bringing highly concentrated exchanges and dissemination of information.

A large wooden board is pinned with a complete battlefield map.

Standing in front of the map, Horn addressed the rushed Divine Punishment Battle Commander Selomis: “The two thousand soldiers at Marsh Slope are close to the Divine Punishment Battle Group; you might as well go and eliminate them. It won’t affect the deployments too much. What do you think?”

The adjacent staff officer immediately handed a report to Selomis, who glanced at it and nodded: “Feasible, no objections.”

“Good, then execute.” Horn nodded with neither joy nor sorrow.

As he turned and saw no one queued behind Selomis, he knew his work was temporarily done and simply sat down for coffee.

Just after sitting down, he noticed Grand Duke Saranto waiting with a face full of confusion.

“Does Your Excellency have anything to say?”

“Your Majesty, the report from the southern line has come out, at least five thousand of the Royal Court’s vanguards have been repelled.”

Horn gently sipped his coffee: “I’ve read the battle reports. They’re all brave lads.”

“But the problem is,” Saranto stared at the map before him, “according to the plan, heavy troops should have been placed on the south side, so why are there two corps stationed in a place like Tibot Village?”

“I deployed some troops to the north today.”

“Then how did you know they would attack from the Bone Swamp?”

“I heard artillery this morning, but I felt something was off; it wasn’t the sound of reconnaissance artillery but more like a probing attack.

So I sent Novia over to scout, and sure enough, they had shifted their main attack north, prompting a temporary troop deployment to move north.”

Grand Duke Saranto became even more puzzled. That’s several kilometers away!

Also, on the battlefield, reconnaissance artillery sounds are almost constant, heard periodically.

How did Horn manage to quickly identify the probing artillery sounds amid such a jumble?

“Though you’ve been on the battlefield for a long time, clearly you haven’t experienced the fiercest of battles,” Jia Li, dressed in a corset hunting outfit, came over, first handing new reports to Horn, “For us, worrying over each round of artillery and discerning it is instinct.”

……

The night wind was cold, blowing across the tense face of Angel Envoy of the seventh delegation, Grigori.

With clenched jaws, his cheeks had a noticeable protrusion.

“Not taken down? What does this mean?”

“There are at least four companies stationed in Tibot Village… we…”

“If I hear such words again, I’ll deafen my ears!” Grigori erupted in anger, “A small village, stationed with two thousand men! Mad!”

But Yakunaru lightly patted Grigori’s shoulder: “Konyaz demands we seize the riverbank villages by nine o’clock; it’s already eight at night. Instead of being angry and laying blame, perhaps think of how to complete the task.”

Grigori suppressed his anger, asking Yakunaru: “How are things on your end?”

“Just arrived, although we have over ten thousand soldiers; not sure if it’s enough.”

Now the seventh delegation’s probing attacks in the villages near Bone Swamp have not succeeded, encountering massive enemy counterattacks.

This definitely signals a flaw in the plan, with Horn amassing large forces at Bone Swamp.

“Deep Sea!” Grigori cursed.

Undeniably, Deep Sea’s role is significant in the Holy Alliance and even more so in the Royal Court.

Now, no matter the issue, there’s a unanimously blamed party—Deep Sea.

But placing the blame on Deep Sea’s head doesn’t stop the war from continuing.

“Is it still possible to attack from Lake Kulchin?”

“Too late, also the Holy Alliance moves faster than us, we can only force an attack.” Yakunaru sighed, “You and I sign jointly, apply for reinforcements from Konyaz.”

Lying on the saddle, the two quickly drafted a request for assistance.

However, no sooner had the messenger taken the letter a few steps, did Konyaz’s messenger come galloping by.

“Has Konyaz any instructions?” Grigori immediately went forth to greet.

“Konyaz heard the artillery sounds, noticed enemy troop movement, and urgently dispatched reinforcements to be used without delay.”

Use?

What kind of term is this?

Initially, the two vampires didn’t understand, only seeing the heavy carriage in the darkness rolling slowly.

When the carriage platform fell and iron feet hit the ground, they realized.

“Use it now? Isn’t it too early?” Yakunaru turned to Grigori to ask.

“This battle is decisive; use it if necessary, haven’t you heard the orders?”

……

Bone Swamp, beside a rural dirt path.

A whirlwind composed of flames and lightning rose into the air, wrapped with the venomous green Dragon’s Breath, igniting a sight-blocking dust haze.

The night wind howled ominously, dispersing the dust haze, rendering the visible vampires equally as blind as humans.

Only lead and cannonballs penetrated the smokescreen, leaving holes large and small.

Both sides could only see each other’s crimson eyes and ferocious faces through the holes.

On one side of the smokescreen, vampires lined up in rows firing continuously at unseen foes.

They couldn’t ascertain the enemy’s numbers, only continuously shooting to maintain suppression.

“Sun Shell!” a vampire suddenly screamed.

The intensely glowing Sun Shell ascended to the sky, causing even protected vampires to feel their skin sting.

Most importantly, the Sun Shell easily severs the undead magic link between vampires and zombies, making it easier to deploy Holy Water bombs and plasma bombs.

The exploding brightness surged continuously, and amidst the fiery vortex and smokescreen, intense footsteps emerged.

The vampires shooting felt their blood-pumping hearts tighten fervently.

After battling against the Holy Alliance multiple times, they knew what that meant.

“Watch out, switch to spears, switch to spears!”

In moments, vampires swapped from their backs one-meter-high spears, but instead of meeting bayonet charges, they faced six coordinated volleys.

Dense lead bullets, like razors, swept through, instantly splashing a thick blood mist among the vampire ranks.

Then in the next moment, countless Holy Alliance soldiers broke through the smokescreen, bayonets raised, charging into the broken vampire lines.

Even if spears were switched quickly, following the volleys, the formations were already chaotic, not to mention Holy Alliance soldiers smoothly transitioned from volley to charge, giving no chance to the vampires.

For a moment, the clan troops showed signs of being scattered.

Vampire soldiers retreated in succession, continuously heading toward the bushes behind them.

The Holy Alliance soldiers immediately pursued, but not long before the furthest soldiers abruptly halted.

“What’s going on?” the Corps Commander quickly noticed something had happened.

He shouted, moving forward, only to hear intense tremors and the sound of shattering nearby.

Shrapnel strafed, and within the fan-shaped area, Holy Alliance soldiers fell backward, Corps Commander avoided being swept through because he was knocked over.

Just as he raised his head to shout, he was stricken into silence.

Raising his right hand, pointing forward, but shouting “Retreat!”

In the darkness towards his pointed finger…at least twenty or thirty flesh Titans emerged from the forest!
