After staying at the Gathering Flower Sect for two days, Gu An brought Sin back to the Wushi Dao Field. They walked along the edge of the forest near the Dao Field, with Sin hopping and skipping beside Gu An.

“Master, when are we going back to the Gathering Flower Sect?” Sin asked cheerfully.

Compared to a hundred years ago, Sin had become even more lively. He had now reached the Nirvana Realm, officially stepping onto the path of cultivation. The power left to him by Yao Xuan Immortal Lord had been sealed by Gu An, to prevent the backlash of karmic consequences from harming him.

“What? Got a little junior sister you like?” Gu An asked with a smile.

Even without Jiang Qiong’s help, in just two days Sin had already made friends with several female disciples of the Gathering Flower Sect. It was mainly because he looked handsome and young. Wherever he went, he attracted the attention of female cultivators. And he wasn’t shy at all, he could chat easily with anyone.

Sin tilted his head and replied, “Those junior sisters are really cute. I do enjoy spending time with them, but more than that, I feel like there are many people and places in the Gathering Flower Sect that are worth getting to know.”

He wasn’t just being childish. He was used to this body, so he kept that youthful appearance. But his mind was constantly growing, and he understood matters between men and women—he just wasn’t interested in them at all.

Gu An could hear his thoughts clearly. This kid just wanted to have fun.

“Then you’d better cultivate well. If you behave, I’ll bring you along next time,” Gu An said with a grin.

“Master, you’re the best!”

Sin was instantly overjoyed, hugging Gu An’s arm and excitedly talking about everything he’d seen over the past two days.

After walking a while, Sin suddenly saw someone.

It was an injured young woman, leaning against a large tree, healing herself.

Hearing the sound of Gu An and Sin chatting and laughing, she opened her eyes, looking wary.

Gu An pretended not to see her and kept walking. As they got closer, the young woman grew more tense.

Sin also stopped talking, just curiously looking at her.

Only when Gu An passed right in front of her did she quietly let out a breath.

Sin saw that Gu An said nothing, so he didn’t ask either.

Once the two had disappeared at the end of the forest, the young woman finally felt completely relieved.

“Wait, this is a forbidden place. Could they be from Wushi?” she thought.

She suddenly felt an urge to go after them. She was on the run, being hunted. If she could get help from Wushi, she might just survive.

But as soon as this thought came up, an inexplicable fear rose in her heart, making her quickly give up on the idea.

On the other side, Gu An and Sin stepped into the Dao Field.

Sin wasn’t that strong yet, but he could feel the sudden surge in spiritual energy and knew they were home.

“Master, that person just now seemed hurt. Is something wrong with the Qiankun Sect?” Sin couldn’t help asking.

He had been to the Qiankun Sect before, but hadn’t noticed any major conflicts.

Gu An looked ahead and said slowly, “The Qiankun Sect is falling apart. Our Dao Field is going to get a lot bigger. Are you happy?”

“What’s so great about getting bigger? Master, there are still so many people on this land, are you going to drive them all away?” Sin asked, frowning.

“What do you want me to do?”

“I hope Master lets them stay. That way, Wushi will be even more lively. Of course, that’s just what I think. If you’re worried they’ll disturb your cultivation, then drive them away.”

Sin answered seriously. To him, Gu An was the most important person, and he always listened to him. He would never forget those long, lonely years in the Desolate Heaven Tomb.

“If that’s the case, then we’ll do as you say. Let them stay on the land.”

Gu An patted Sin’s head and smiled with satisfaction.

Compared to Sin’s cultivation, he cared more about his heart.

Without compassion, one would eventually take a dark path.

Hearing this, Sin was even happier. But Gu An added, “Letting them stay is fine, but from now on you can’t bully them. No matter their cultivation level, you must always respect others. Understand?”

“Don’t worry, Master. I’ll remember.”

The master and disciple talked as they walked into the mountain forest ahead. The forests of the Wushi Dao Field seemed vast and boundless, but when compared to the entire Nine Spirits Continent, it was just a small piece.

It was the same with matters of the world. The Qiankun Sect was going through a great disaster, and many felt like the sky was falling. But in the grand scale of the world, their sky was insignificant.

...

On the Path of the Grand Dao, atop a falling star.

The Blood Prison Saint, Fang Xuan, and five other cultivators sat together in silence, the atmosphere heavy.

A male cultivator looked at the Blood Prison Saint and couldn’t help but ask, “Second Brother, do you really have to go back? Aren’t our days together free and carefree? Aren’t they joyful?”

The others chimed in to persuade him too. The Blood Prison Saint was planning to leave the Path of the Grand Dao and return to his sect, which they couldn’t understand.

Being someone’s mount, was that really so great?

Now the seven of them roamed freely on the Path of the Grand Dao. Even if they ran into a Dao Monarch, the seven of them together could still escape. They had made quite a name for themselves, and their future looked bright.

Fang Xuan knew how powerful Gu An was. He understood that the Blood Prison Saint’s choice was right, but he still couldn’t bear to part with him. The only thing he could do was neither persuade nor agree.

The Blood Prison Saint’s eyes widened, and he shouted, “Enough! My Master is the strongest existence, you can’t disrespect him! Besides, me going back is the best choice, and it’s leaving you all a way out!”

“A way out? What do you mean?” another cultivator asked.

The Blood Prison Saint snorted, “The Path of the Grand Dao is endless. Sooner or later, you’ll run into huge trouble. When that happens, you can come beg me, and I’ll ask my Master to help.”

These words left everyone exchanging looks, not knowing how to respond.

“You can actually stay here.”

A voice suddenly rang out. The Blood Prison Saint was about to refute it, but then his eyes widened in shock. He suddenly stood up and turned around, only to see Gu An and Sin walking toward them.

“Master!”

The Blood Prison Saint was instantly thrilled and dropped to his knees with a thud, kowtowing to the ground.

The others also stood up, looking at Gu An and Sin with curiosity and nervousness. Fang Xuan was sweating from his forehead, his whole body stiff. He recalled the nightmare of following the War Court in the attack on the Heavenly Spirit World.

Sin followed behind Gu An, curiously looking at the seven of them.

Gu An walked straight to the Blood Prison Saint and looked down at him, smiling. “You can think it over. If you want to stay out here, I won’t force you to return. Our bond remains.”

The Blood Prison Saint called himself Gu An’s mount, but in truth, he was no different from a disciple. Gu An didn’t really need a mount anyway.

After spending so much time together, feelings had grown. Gu An was quite pleased with him, long since seeing him as family.

“No! I said I’d be your mount for life. Unless you drive me away, I’ll never leave you!” the Blood Prison Saint said in a panic.

Was it possible that during the years he was gone, his Master had gotten a new mount?

Was it Tianqing, Tianbai, or some other demon girl?

Damn it!

Gu An heard his thoughts and couldn’t help but sigh.

Why was it always about demon girls?

This dog, how dare he think of him that way!

Gu An scolded, “Alright, then get up. You’re coming back with me later.”

The Blood Prison Saint lit up with joy and stood up quickly.

Seeing him grinning like a fool in front of Gu An, Fang Xuan and the others felt it was all a bit absurd. They had never seen the Blood Prison Saint so flattering.

Fang Xuan understood, knowing Gu An’s identity. But the other five were full of curiosity, eager to learn more about Gu An.

“Master, why are you here? Did you come just to get me? With your power, couldn’t you have just waved your hand and brought me back?” the Blood Prison Saint asked, curious. His five sworn brothers were secretly shocked at those words.

Gu An answered, “Yes, I came to get you. And also to help you all with a little trouble.”

A little trouble?

The Blood Prison Saint and the others looked confused.

Fang Xuan carefully asked, “Sword… Senior, what trouble do we have?”

Gu An looked at him, and his gaze made Fang Xuan drop his eyes quickly, feeling extremely uneasy. The others were surprised too.

Why was their eldest brother so afraid of the Blood Prison Saint’s Master?

Gu An said, “You acted too recklessly and offended a Dao Monarch. That Dao Monarch is backed by Ascending Yellow Heaven. This void has already been sealed. You have nowhere to run.”
