When I Achieved Sainthood, the Immortal Official Actually Called Me to Raise Horses!
Chapter 707: Divine Sovereign Guangfa Taiguang
Inside the cave heaven, Gu An and Xiao Lan sat on the edge of a cliff, chatting while enjoying the scenery.
“The Court Master really thinks big, already planning to disband the Dao Court. But the other higher-ups surely won’t agree to it,” Xiao Lan said with emotion on her face, speaking of Yuan Songzi’s decision.
She didn’t feel any regret about the Dao Court disbanding. In her opinion, Yuan Songzi had a point. The current problems faced by the Dao Court weren’t something that could be solved with just one or two wars.
Xiao Lan looked over at Gu An and curiously asked, “Gu gege, with your cultivation, how do you view the world? Which sect do you think will unify the world next?”
Gu An tilted the wine gourd in his hand, smiled, and said, “How would I know? Even if I did, that’s a secret of the heavens—can’t just say it.”
Xiao Lan pouted. Over the years, the two of them had sparred many times. No matter how much stronger she became, she was never a match for Gu An. She always felt that Gu An was even stronger than Yuan Songzi.
Gu An’s existence made her feel like all the conflict between the major sects was a joke.
The truly powerful figures were hidden among mortals, watching as the tides of the world rose and fell. If someone like Gu An ever made a move, it would probably shake the whole world’s balance.
As this thought crossed her mind, she looked at Gu An with admiration glowing in her eyes.
Gu An didn’t care much about Yuan Songzi’s decision. To him, that situation had long been within his expectations. He could even see the state of the mortal world after the Dao Court disbanded.
“Have you gained any deeper insight into the path of the Hunyuan Dao Emperor lately?” Gu An asked, changing the topic.
An Xin was already very close to becoming a Hunyuan Dao Emperor. She would be the first to walk that path beyond the Grand Dao. Once she succeeded, the Hunyuan Crystals would spread across the three thousand great worlds, ushering in a new era for the path of the Hunyuan Emperor.
Xiao Lan had great talent. With the accumulated gains from the Innate Reincarnation Technique, her understanding of the Dao of Reincarnation was profound.
She nodded. “I have, but I still feel like I need to project more.”
Just thinking about the reincarnation projection left her amazed.
The cultivation method of the Hunyuan Dao Emperor was unbelievably mysterious. She hadn’t actually experienced reincarnation herself, yet she had reincarnation memories—and they weren’t false or illusory.
Now, she was truly curious about how powerful the real Hunyuan Dao Emperor must be.
She even suspected that Gu An was the Hunyuan Dao Emperor. After all, he was the one who guided her onto this path. But even now, she had no idea just how strong Gu An really was—the gap between them was just too vast.
She started discussing her cultivation troubles with Gu An.
Gu An stayed with her for three days before leaving.
After departing from the Dao Court, he first traveled around collecting herbs.
Since Li Xuanmiao left, the Mountain God Temple had been left abandoned. Gu An had moved all the herbs to the Wushi Dao Field. To commemorate the place, he left behind a legacy within the Mountain God Temple.
After harvesting the mature herbs outside the Dao Field, Gu An returned to the Wushi Dao Field and leisurely walked toward the mountain peak where he lived.
Everything was moving in a good direction. What he looked forward to now was his own progress.
Once he reached a lifespan of one hundred quadrillion years, he would begin attempting a breakthrough.
What kind of realm lay beyond the Dao Extreme Grand Luo Immortal?
He could’ve invested part of his lifespan to probe the name of the higher realm ahead. But he didn’t do it.
Just knowing the name meant nothing. Better to keep the mystery intact—it made him all the more eager.
As the setting sun dipped westward, its golden rays cast long, slanted shadows behind Gu An.
On top of a grand and dazzling golden palace hall, Long Mie—also known as the Heavenly Destruction God—walked forward with a mighty and commanding presence. He wore golden armor, exuding power, with the shadows of dragons circling around him.
The palace was vast, with immortal mist covering the floor. Enormous stone pillars stood upright, each coiled by a different type of jiao dragon. These dragons were alive—some dozing, some gazing at the Heavenly Destruction God.
He walked ahead step by step, arriving before a staircase of white jade. The staircase had one hundred steps in total, rising to a height of one hundred zhang, and atop it sat a massive cyan lotus seat. Upon the lotus was seated a colossal immortal.
Even seated, this giant immortal stood over one thousand zhang tall. He wore wide and dark-colored Dao robes, had long white hair, yet his face looked young and vibrant, with a ruddy complexion. A single jade hairpin was fixed atop his head, its end wreathed in flames.
This immortal was one of the highest-ranking in the Heavenly Court, titled Divine Sovereign Guangfa Taiguang.
“Heavenly Destruction God greets the Divine Sovereign!”
The Heavenly Destruction God bowed and raised a hand in salute, his tone deeply respectful.
Divine Sovereign Guangfa Taiguang opened his eyes, and the entire palace grew even brighter. He looked down at the Heavenly Destruction God and slowly said, “I’ve already learned of your past. You’ve rendered great service to the Heavenly Court. I will now help you advance to the rank of Star Lord. But before that, remain and cultivate here in my Dao Field. Strive to achieve the Supreme Purity Golden Immortal Realm as soon as possible.”
“Many thanks, Divine Sovereign!”
The Heavenly Destruction God responded without surprise or excitement, his voice calm.
“Xuanmiao.”
As Guangfa Taiguang spoke, a figure appeared out of thin air within the hall, standing less than one hundred zhang from the Heavenly Destruction God.
The Heavenly Destruction God glanced at the person and narrowed his eyes.
He could sense that this person possessed Heavenly Dao fortune, and their rank in the immortal hierarchy was above his, even though their cultivation was only at the Profound Origin Free Immortal Realm.
How could someone of such cultivation already become a Star Lord?
The Heavenly Destruction God didn’t look down on him. He knew that achievements like this couldn’t come from connections alone—this person likely ascended through a superior path to immortality.
That person was none other than Li Xuanmiao, who had passed the trial of the Heavenly Dao Immortal Stone.
Li Xuanmiao wore a white robe lined with golden threads, a silver crown with peacock feathers upon his head. His aura was elegant and transcendent, like an immortal out of a painting.
He lacked the overpowering presence of the Heavenly Destruction God, but his innate immortal and divine temperament stood out.
Li Xuanmiao bowed toward Guangfa Taiguang and said, “Master.”
“He is a newly accepted disciple of mine, from a great world within the mortal realm. He passed the Heavenly Dao Immortal Stone’s test and was commended by the heavens, earning the rank of Star Lord. His cultivation is too low now. Until his realm catches up, I won’t assign him any official celestial duties. Heavenly Destruction God, from now on, you’ll be responsible for guiding him. Think of it as your first task. If you want to descend to the lower world, you may do so, but each trip may not exceed one hundred immortal years.”
Divine Sovereign Guangfa Taiguang’s voice echoed through the hall. Upon hearing this, the Heavenly Destruction God immediately accepted the order. He didn’t refuse or ask questions.
Then Guangfa Taiguang closed his eyes once more.
Li Xuanmiao raised his hand to gesture to the Heavenly Destruction God to leave the hall together. The Heavenly Destruction God gave a small nod, and the two turned to depart.
As they exited the golden hall, they arrived atop a sea of clouds. Looking into the distance, towering palaces radiating golden light stretched endlessly, with massive rainbows hanging across the skies.
“Master already told me of your arrival and had me prepare a Dao Field for you in advance. Come with me,” said Li Xuanmiao as he turned to the Heavenly Destruction God.
Since his ascension, Li Xuanmiao had encountered many immortals and gods. He had accepted the reality of rank differences. As a Star Lord, he could give orders to a Heavenly God. Even if the Heavenly Destruction God had higher cultivation, there was no need for him to be overly polite, much less to bow.
“Many thanks, Star Lord!”
The Heavenly Destruction God cupped his fists in gratitude, showing no sign of dissatisfaction.
Li Xuanmiao led the way. As they walked, he glanced back and asked, “Heavenly Destruction God, I heard you’ve carried out world-destroying missions before. Could you tell me more about the duties of Heavenly Gods? I’ve just joined the Heavenly Court, and I want to understand it better.”
