Chapter 67: Chapter 66: The Overbearing CEO’s Little Wildcat 7

At 4:30 in the morning, Ji Xiaosong was in a hazy sleep when the roar of a helicopter suddenly echoed nearby.

Her body was up before her mind had a chance to wake.

’Where on earth did I get this nosy streak from?’

It was the middle of winter in J Country, but the heating in Ji Xiaosong’s villa was more than sufficient. That, combined with the power of the Spirit Jade she’d brought from the Phoenix Clan in her past life, meant she was only wearing a slip dress, as if it were summer.

She threw a cashmere coat over her shoulders and ran outside in her slippers.

When she opened the gate to her yard, she saw that the helicopter had, unbelievably, landed on the large lawn right across from her villa.

Just as Ji Xiaosong was wondering which distant neighbor would be extravagant enough to come home this way, the helicopter’s cabin door slowly opened, and a tall, slender figure appeared before her.

’Lu... Lu Youheng?’

Ji Xiaosong thought she must be seeing things, but there he was, suitcase in hand and dressed in a long black trench coat—he had actually appeared!

He carried a sleek black suitcase in one hand, the other casually tucked into his trench coat pocket. He tilted his head up slightly, his handsome features somewhat hazy in the weak light of the winter dawn.

He descended the stairs step by step, and it was as if the entire world had frozen, everything around him fading into a mere backdrop for his presence.

’I’m so screwed!’

’He found me!’

Her hands moved before her brain could catch up. She scrambled to shut the door, but whether it was because her hands were shaking or her foot slipped, Lu Youheng had already reached it just as it was about to lock.

He held the door with one hand, his immense strength making it impossible for Ji Xiaosong to budge it even an inch.

Lu Youheng narrowed his eyes, his gaze holding a commanding authority that brooked no refusal. His deep, magnetic voice sounded out, "Don’t close the door. I need to talk to you."

With that, he pushed the door open with force and strode into the villa as if he owned the place.

Ji Xiaosong was stunned into place by his sudden, forceful action, momentarily unsure of what to do.

’Oh, what’s the use? I fled all the way here, and he still found me. I might as well hear him out.’

Ji Xiaosong glanced outside. Seeing no one else following, she realized Lu Youheng must have flown the helicopter himself.

She locked the main gate, no trembling hands or slipping feet this time.

She turned around, her lips unconsciously pursed into a pout, her brows knitted together, and her large eyes were filled with vexation.

She stomped her foot lightly and rubbed her belly. Ji Xiaosong now guessed that the earlier mishap was the work of the three little ones in her belly.

She was now over two months pregnant. The three little ones were just beginning to take human form and had most likely developed their own consciousness.

She habitually shielded her belly with her Spiritual Energy, paying special attention to wrapping the three babies securely within it to prevent any harm. Only then did she follow Lu Youheng inside.

Ji Xiaosong’s villa had wall-to-wall carpeting. As soon as Lu Youheng entered, he took off his shoes and coat, casually setting down his suitcase.

The very instant Ji Xiaosong shut the door, Lu Youheng yanked her into his arms. His hands clamped around her waist, and before she could say a word, his lips were on hers.

Ji Xiaosong’s eyes flew open in shock at his sudden move. She wanted to resist, but Lu Youheng’s strength was immense, giving her no chance to break free.

His other hand quickly unbuttoned her coat, yanking it off and tossing it aside.

Ji Xiaosong’s mind went blank, her breathing growing ragged. She tried to push Lu Youheng away, only to find her own strength was insignificant compared to his.

’This man... don’t tell me he got hooked on our one-night stand?’

Lu Youheng didn’t say a single word, his every action fierce and relentless.

Ji Xiaosong felt as if the scenes before her were flashing past, frame by frame.

The sun rarely made an appearance during winter in J Country, but today, it rose right on time.

Sunlight streamed in through the stained-glass window, and upon the colorful, dappled light, two shadows were superimposed.

One moment, the shadows were like intertwined vines, clinging tightly to each other.

The next, the shadows seemed to merge like ink wash, their passion inseparable.

And then, the overlapping figures resembled twin flowers on a single stalk, hopelessly entangled in their romance.

...

「The sun set.」

"Why are you hiding from me?"

Lu Youheng held Ji Xiaosong tightly, not letting her move an inch.

"Mmm..."

Ji Xiaosong’s throat was dry, her voice too hoarse to speak.

"I need water..."

Lu Youheng got up, walked to the sink, and got Ji Xiaosong a glass of warm water.

After drinking, Ji Xiaosong didn’t answer Lu Youheng’s question. Instead, she changed the subject. "You seem very familiar with the layout of my house."

"The company that developed this house is one of mine, and I was the one who arranged for the renovations."

Lu Youheng calmly took the glass from Ji Xiaosong’s hand, set it aside, and pulled her back into his arms.

Ji Xiaosong was held a little too tightly, and she tried to move her arms and legs.

"Don’t move."

Hearing the restrained tone in Lu Youheng’s voice, Ji Xiaosong obediently stopped struggling and nestled into his embrace.

And just like that, she fell asleep.

As for the question of why she was hiding from him, it no longer seemed important.

「When she opened her eyes again, it was the morning of the next day.」

Ji Xiaosong groggily looked around. Lu Youheng was no longer by her side.

She stretched, casually put on a dress, and went downstairs.

"You’re awake? I just finished making some breakfast. Come and eat."

Ji Xiaosong stared at the man bustling about the dining table, thinking she was seeing things.

"I never would’ve guessed. You actually know how to cook."

Although it was just simple Western fare, nothing difficult to make, it was beautifully presented.

"During my Ph.D. years, I was quite busy. Whenever I had some free time, I’d try making food to de-stress."

A corner of Lu Youheng’s mouth quirked up. He lifted his chin slightly, but his eyes unconsciously darted toward Ji Xiaosong.

Seeing her take a bite of the sandwich he’d made, her eyes lighting up slightly, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"The sandwich is good. I like it a lot."

"I have to return to the country first thing tomorrow morning. Are you coming with me, or are you staying here?"

As soon as he said this, Ji Xiaosong’s nerves tensed.

’If I remember correctly, doesn’t Lu Youheng have a fiancée?’

’If she finds out I’m pregnant, won’t she try to have me killed?’

’It’s not that I’m worried I’d actually lose my life—I have the ability to protect myself, after all. But people like Liu Wanru, and Lu Youheng’s rivals, will always have ways to kill you without spilling a drop of blood.’

’I really don’t plan on fighting with people every other day. This life, I just want to focus on my career and raise my children in peace.’

"If I go back with you, won’t your fiancée mind?"
