News of the upgrade to the Dawn virus was soon widely reported on the Star Network, and far away on Wa Star, the deans of the Academy of Sciences and the Agricultural Research Institute began contacting Ji Xiaosong one after another.

Within a single day, Ji Xiaosong’s terminal was nearly flooded with messages and communication requests.

She had just finished a press conference about the successful upgrade of Dawn, and before she could even catch her breath, her terminal vibrated again.

She glanced down and saw a joint communication request from the deans of Wa Star’s Academy of Sciences and Agricultural Research Institute.

She pressed the accept button, and holographic images of the two deans immediately appeared before her.

“Miss Ji, you finally answered!”

The dean of the Academy of Sciences was visibly excited, his voice trembling slightly. “We saw the news—the Dawn upgrade was a success! This is absolutely fantastic news!”

The dean of the Agricultural Research Institute was also beaming, his tone tinged with pride. “Miss Ji, you’re the pride of our Wa Star! Now, Wa Star’s name will be known throughout the entire Federation!”

Ji Xiaosong smiled faintly, her tone humble. “You two are too kind. The successful upgrade of Dawn wouldn’t have been possible without the team’s hard work and everyone’s support.”

The dean of the Academy of Sciences waved his hand dismissively and said urgently, “Miss Ji, there’s no need to be so modest. We’re calling to ask when you’re returning to Wa Star. Both the Academy of Sciences and the Agricultural Research Institute are waiting for you to come back and take charge!”

The dean of the Agricultural Research Institute nodded repeatedly in agreement. “Yes, Miss Ji, you’re Wa Star’s Star Lord. You can’t stay on the Main Star forever, can you? The agricultural projects on Wa Star still need your personal oversight.”

A hint of apology flickered in Ji Xiaosong’s eyes upon hearing their words.

It was true; she hadn’t been back to Wa Star in a long time.

Ever since the Dawn project began, she had poured nearly all her time and energy into the research, even entrusting Wa Star’s daily affairs to the two deans to manage in her stead.

“Deans, I’m truly sorry. I have indeed neglected matters on Wa Star this past year.”

Ji Xiaosong said sincerely, “The clinical trials for Dawn will still take some time. Once the work here reaches a stopping point, I’ll return to Wa Star as soon as I can.”

The dean of the Academy of Sciences nodded, his tone understanding. “We know you’re busy, but Wa Star is your foundation, after all. We’ve done our best to maintain things while you’ve been away, but some major decisions still need to be made by you personally.”

The dean of the Agricultural Research Institute chimed in, “That’s right, Xiaosong. The agricultural projects on Wa Star have run into some bottlenecks recently. We’d like to hear your opinion.”

Ji Xiaosong mulled it over for a moment before saying, “Alright, I’ll arrange my schedule and make a trip back to Wa Star next week. The team can continue to follow up on Dawn’s clinical trials. I’ll come back after I’ve handled things on Wa Star.”

Upon hearing this, the two deans’ faces lit up with joy. “That’s wonderful! Miss Ji, we’ll be waiting for you!”

After disconnecting the call, Ji Xiaosong let out a long sigh.

She turned to Dai Lixing, who was standing to the side, her tone apologetic. “Li Xing, I may have to make a trip back to Wa Star to handle some matters.”

“I heard. Wa Star is your responsibility; you should go back. Do you need me to go with you?”

“No, it’s fine. You have plenty to take care of here as well. I’ll only be gone for a few days.”

“Then be careful. Even though Wa Star is your home base, you can’t let your guard down. Contact me anytime if you need anything.”

“Don’t worry, I will.”

「One week later, on Wa Star.」

Ji Xiaosong’s ship slowly descended, landing at the Wa Star spaceport.

She had just stepped out of the ship’s hatch when she saw the two deans waiting for her with a group of researchers from the Academy of Sciences and the Agricultural Research Institute.

“Miss Ji, welcome back!” the dean of the Agricultural Research Institute said enthusiastically, stepping forward.

Ji Xiaosong smiled and shook hands with them one by one. “Thank you for your hard work, everyone.”

The dean of the Academy of Sciences spoke first. “Miss Ji, you are Wa Star’s Star Lord, and the development of the Academy of Sciences relies on your support. Didn’t you say before that you wanted to study interstellar technology with us? Now that you’re back, it’s the perfect opportunity to stay for a while and become more deeply involved in our projects.”

The dean of the Agricultural Research Institute quickly chimed in, “That’s right, Miss Ji. The plants you grow are a key research focus for our Agricultural Research Institute. We now have a Fourth-rank Spiritualist who can separate the toxins, but we still need your expertise for the genetic optimization of some crops.”

Ji Xiaosong could hear the urgency in the two deans’ voices and understood that they wanted her to stay on Wa Star.

“Yes, in another two months I can come live on Wa Star long-term. I came back this time to see if there was anything you needed from me.”

The dean of the Agricultural Research Institute bumped the dean of the Academy of Sciences out of the way.

“Our Agricultural Research Institute gets her first! Your Academy of Sciences will be spending plenty of time with Miss Ji in the future.”

With that, he led Ji Xiaosong to the Agricultural Research Institute.

The researchers at the Agricultural Research Institute were already waiting in the lab, and they immediately came forward to greet her.

“Miss Ji, this is a sample of the latest crop we’ve cultivated,”

a researcher said, handing her a lush green plant. “Although a Fourth-rank Spiritualist has separated the toxins, the crop’s growth rate still isn’t ideal.”

Ji Xiaosong took the plant and examined it carefully before saying, “You could try adjusting the ratio of light to nutrient solution. In addition, the crop’s genetic sequence needs further optimization. I’ll give you a specific plan for that in a little while.”

Over the past year, in order to thoroughly research Dawn, Ji Xiaosong had spent a great deal of time studying genetics.

The dean of the Agricultural Research Institute’s face lit up. “Wonderful! With your guidance, Miss Ji, our project is sure to have a breakthrough.”

After spending half a month on Wa Star, Ji Xiaosong returned to the Main Star.

This time, she only needed to wrap up the remaining matters concerning Dawn, and then she could take Ji Sui’an back to Wa Star.

She had originally been “tricked” by Dai Lixing into coming to the Main Star, and to her surprise, she had ended up staying for a whole year.

Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home. She still preferred her little nest on Wa Star—the wooden cabin she had built herself.

Upon learning that Ji Xiaosong planned to take their child back to Wa Star with her, Dai Lixing packed his own luggage without a second thought.

Wherever his wife and son were, he would be also.

Besides, he had just finished establishing a space-folding route between Wa Star and the Main Star. Traveling between the two planets would only take him a matter of minutes.

“Are you coming back with me too?”

Ji Xiaosong couldn’t help but chuckle when she saw Dai Lixing’s eager expression.

“Of course. Wherever you and Sui An are, that’s where I’ll be. Besides, now that I’ve established a space-folding route between Wa Star and the Main Star, getting there only takes a few minutes. It won’t interfere with my other work.”

Hearing him say that, Ji Xiaosong was stunned for a rare moment.

“That’s some advanced technology. Where did you learn it?”

“At the Academy of Sciences, of course. They have the most advanced technology there.”

Spurred on by Dai Lixing’s words, Ji Xiaosong spent the rest of her life on a continuous path of learning. She did her best to master everything she could, and for what she didn’t have time to learn, she stored the research data in her personal dimension.

Ji Sui’an loved Wa Star and remained there, dedicating himself to the study of farming. He eventually became a legendary, god-like figure across the interstellar community.

In this lifetime, Ji Xiaosong only had one child, Ji Sui’an.

When she and Dai Lixing passed away together, Ji Sui’an nearly cried himself unconscious.

His parents had given him the most fulfilling love of his life.

Before leaving this world, Ji Xiaosong didn’t forget to take a large number of robots with her.

She had eventually figured out how to research all kinds of synthetic skins and had even learned how to build robots herself.

This ensured that even if she went to other worlds in the future, she would have plenty of helpers.
