When a Blade of Grass Wants to Become Immortal
Chapter 221: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Woman 28
Chapter 221 -217: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Woman 28
The moment Xiao Li’s voice reached Dai Lixing’s ears, he impatiently opened Ji Xiaosong’s live stream.
At that moment, Ji Xiaosong was in the middle of celebrating Ji Sui’an’s one-month-old ceremony.
When he saw the chubby little baby, Dai Lixing’s heart gave a sudden, sharp pang.
He was puzzled. ‘Why am I having such a strong reaction to seeing these two?’
Since he couldn’t figure it out, he decided to get to the bottom of it.
Without a second thought, Dai Lixing decided to send Ji Xiaosong the biggest possible donation.
Ji Xiaosong had previously disabled donations, but she had turned them on today for Ji Sui’an’s one-month celebration.
In the worlds she had traveled through before, it was common for various people to offer blessings to the child during such an important ceremony.
She was willing to accept these blessings, and in turn, she would give back to others.

Only when this donation notification lit up Ji Xiaosong’s live stream did Dai Lixing realize he was using Xiao Li’s account.
“Thank you, Attendant Officer Xiao Li, for the donation and your blessings. Today is my son’s one-month celebration, so I’ll also be sending you some gifts as a thank you.”
Ji Xiaosong looked at her vegetable garden, thought for a moment, and said, “How about this? I’ll send you a hundred pounds of every fruit and vegetable from my garden.”
Dai Lixing replied with a simple “Mm.”
He clearly wanted to talk to her but had no idea what to say.
A few minutes later, every variety of fruit and vegetable from Ji Xiaosong’s garden appeared before Dai Lixing.
He picked up a strawberry and bit into it. The instant the juice exploded on his tongue, Dai Lixing’s knuckles spasmed, crashing into the glass coffee table.
Amidst the crisp CLINK of a toppling crystal glass, he saw his trembling right hand stained by the crimson juice. The bright red liquid trickled down the lines of his palm, reminding him of a sealed memory from deep in his past—a sunset, someone cupping his face, giving him a kiss, and saying something with a smile.
“This is impossible…”
He chewed the fruit mechanically, the sweet and sour taste transforming into countless fine needles piercing his temples.
On the holographic screen, Ji Sui’an was giggling as he clutched a jade longevity lock. In the candlelight, the child’s gray-green pupils shimmered with an amber glow.
It was the same color gradient he had seen just last night in the bathroom mirror, as the morning light stripped the camouflage from his own irises.
Xiao Li was also watching Ji Xiaosong’s stream at that moment and commented casually, “Marshal, that baby looks a lot like you.”
Xiao Li’s voice trailed off, abruptly cut short by the hum of the air purifier.
Cold sweat instantly beaded on the back of his neck. He stared at the small dimples that appeared when Ji Sui’an smiled on the holographic screen—they were the very same indentations that only appeared on the Marshal’s left cheek when he was drunk.
“I mean…”
The Attendant Officer cleared his throat tactically, his fingertips swiping rapidly across his smart device to pull up the interstellar genetic map.
“The Alliance’s gene-optimization technology is really something these days. Look, this child’s facial proportions are a perfect match for the golden ratio…”
The sole of Dai Lixing’s military boot scraped harshly against the floor. The strip of simulated starlight on the command room’s ceiling suddenly shifted to a cool-toned hue.
“He does.”
The two words startled Xiao Li so much that he nearly dropped his Quantum Communicator.
He hurriedly wiped the fingerprints off the screen with his sleeve. As he glimpsed the Marshal’s irises fading to the exact same gray-green as Ji Sui’an’s under the anti-blue light mode, a flash of inspiration hit him.
“Actually, people used to say I looked like you when I was a kid, too!”
“Pull up last month’s genetic matching report.”
Dai Lixing suddenly reached out and pressed his hand on the floating screen, his fingertip landing right on Ji Sui’an’s chubby little hand, which was still clutching the longevity lock.
The holographic projection refracted off the silver buttons of his uniform, creating tiny specks of light, much like the stars he was now dredging up from the abyss of his memory.
“Yes, sir!”
Xiao Li quickly searched the genetic database for Ji Sui’an’s information, only to find that Ji Xiaosong had never registered him at all.
She hadn’t even registered his identity information.
‘This…’
‘This is making things really difficult for me.’
‘But the Marshal is so interested in this streamer… Could they have had some connection before?’
‘Knowing how generous the Marshal is, could he have given this streamer something in the past?’
‘Or transferred funds?’
He wasn’t authorized to check the Marshal’s Star Coin savings account, but he could have the Marshal check it himself.
“Marshal, the streamer hasn’t registered any identity information for the child. So, perhaps you should check your financial transactions?”
“Why would I check that?”
“Well, I was just thinking… you’re always very generous, Marshal, always giving us subsidies and bonuses. If you had some past connection with this woman, you probably would have transferred funds to her, and it wouldn’t have been a small amount.”
Xiao Li’s reminder was a moment of clarity for Dai Lixing. “I’ll check it right now.”
Dai Lixing checked all his transfers from the past few years and discovered that he had not only helped Ji Xiaosong register on the Star Network but had also transferred a large amount of Star Coins to her.
“It’s her. On Wa Star.”
Dai Lixing’s fingers blurred across the holographic projection. The instant the interstellar coordinates were locked, his military boots had already burst through the command cabin’s blast-proof door.
The wires of the hallway alarm he’d ripped out swayed in the air. Before the electronic voice could finish its announcement—”Please fill out the interstellar travel application form”—the Marshal’s personal Silver Wing Starship had already broken through the atmosphere.
The flight from the Main Star to Wa Star takes a very long time.
However, desperate to see Ji Xiaosong as quickly as possible, Dai Lixing initiated a system jump.
In just half a day, before Ji Xiaosong had even ended her stream, Dai Lixing had already arrived in the space above Wa Star.
The strange thing was, this was clearly Wa Star’s location, so why was it just a void, completely undetectable?
The Silver Wing Starship hovered at the coordinates, the panoramic viewports showing nothing but a suffocating void.
Dai Lixing pressed his palm against the quantum radar screen, the silver hawk insignia on his uniform cuff gleaming coldly.
“Initiate antimatter scan. Set power to 300%.”
“Warning!”
The Starship’s robot raised an energy monitor. “Radiation at this level will penetrate the ship’s hull plating. Please reconsider, Marshal.”
“Execute the order.”
Dai Lixing tore open his collar, the movement of his throat revealing a gruesome old scar on his collarbone.
It was from a spatial collapse he had encountered three years ago in the X-23 Star Domain. Right now, the scar was emitting an eerie blue glow.
A violet beam pierced the void, and the radar screen suddenly erupted with static.
Dai Lixing’s pupils contracted. In the quantum entanglement imaging, the location where Wa Star should have been appeared as a ring of folded space, as if someone had stuffed the entire star system into a Klein bottle.
“What in the world is this?”
The robot scanned the entire spatial fold. “Reporting to the Marshal, this is an unknown protective substance. Do you wish to attempt a forced breach?”
“No.”
Since it was a form of protection, it meant Ji Xiaosong didn’t want anyone interfering with this planet.
Therefore, if he still hoped to have a proper conversation with Ji Xiaosong, he couldn’t destroy the very possibility of their reunion.
