Chapter 1549: What She Does With Gods Like These

"Noooo!! Whyyyy!! I... I’m a God!!! Why must it be her?!!" That guy cried rather pathetically.

Hiandoca was completely ignoring him and focused on me instead.

"Aster~ Are you busy after this? Want to go back to my place and hang out for a bit?"

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... Umm... Maybe you should deal with him first?"

She waved her hand dismissively, "Oh who cares about some loser like him? I’m more interested in you~"

"No seriously... Umm... I came to this place because there’s a tear in space underneath the Academy to begin with... And I’m not sure how long I’ve spent inside here either..."

"Oh don’t worry, you’ve been here for less than a day outside~ I made sure that you didn’t lose out on anything~"

"Ok... But well... He’s starting to creep me out a little... So maybe we should--"

"Ah! I’ll take care of that right away!"

I honestly was just trying to say that as a way to subtly suggest that maybe she should tell that god to stop crying or get over this or just do something to solve this thing here...

But what I didn’t expect was for Hiandoca to go up to that god and plunge her arm through that guy’s chest before pulling out.

In her hands was a glowing, golden ball of light and the god that she just took it out from choked and sputtered, his two dimensional hand reaching out towards the ball and trying to get it back from her.

Hiandoca didn’t even hesitate to just kick him back into the crater like he was just some trash by the roadside, not even looking at him tumble into the hole as she turned back to me.

"Here you go, Aster!" She giggled cheerfully, presenting the ball to me.

I looked down at the ball, then back at her, "What is this?"

"Oh this? It’s that guy’s Godly essence of course~ Not that he needs it anymore since he’ll be dead soon~"

My eyes widened in alarm, "Wait... That’s his godly essence? That sounds really important, doesn’t it?"

"Mmhmm~ A God without this is nothing more than a mortal after all~"

"Isn’t that pretty important?!"

"Mmm~ As I said, he doesn’t need it anymore~ So there’s no problem with taking it out of him~"

"He doesn’t need it anymore? Wait, wait, wait... Doesn’t this... I don’t know... Kill him or something?"

"Oh it most certainly does~ Ah, not directly though, he’s still a mortal now so... He’s not dead yet. He’ll be dead eventually. Ah! Maybe you don’t want it while he’s still alive? I’ll fix that right away!"

She turned back to the hole and made a grabbing motion which caused the former god to fly out of it and land right in her grasp.

Hiandoca grabbed him by the neck and snapped it with a loud crack, the pictures that depicted him changing to dull colours before they disintegrated into nothingness.

She then dusted her hands before turning back to me and tried to offer me the golden ball again.

"There you go!"

I looked at the place where the god had been moments before and turned back to Hiandoca, "Did you just... Kill him?"

"Yeah!"

"Isn’t that... A big deal?"

"Why?"

"I mean... That’s a god isn’t it? You just killed a god!"

"Pfft~ It’s just some other God, not one of ours. And he’s useless. He won’t be missed at all."

I blinked at her answer, "Won’t be... Missed? You’re telling me a god’s death won’t be missed?"

"Mmm... More specifically, this one won’t be missed at least. He’s just a God who has nothing to govern over and made something up to lord over to try and court me, even though I already showed no interest in him at all."

I blinked again, needing another moment to register what she just said.

"So... You can just... Kill gods?"

"Mmm... I can~" She giggled before waving the golden orb in front of me again, "Here! Take it!"

I looked down at the orb, "What am I supposed to do with this?"

"Well, this is Godly essence! So if you absorb this, you can become a God too!"

"Why the heck do I want something like that?"

She blinked at me like I had just turned down cookies, "Eh? Why? I mean... Why won’t you want something like this? This is Godhood you know?"

"I never wanted to be a god to begin with? I want to live my life down here."

"Ehhhh?! Wait... Really?! No wait... Actually... Hmm... I guess that made sense... Yeah. I can’t see you taking up Godhood in any instance... Oh well, just keep it then. You can use it for whatever you want, it’s not like I have any use for it anyway."

She tossed the orb to me casually, forcing me to catch it out of reflex.

It felt surprisingly solid and I could already feel the divinity rolling off of it which made my hair stand on end.

I wasn’t sure what else to do with it so I just stored the thing inside my Bangle of Folding which I was partly surprised that it even worked, figuring that I would just ask my girls what to do with it after I got out of this place.

Hiandoca seemed to be satisfied with that before she looked around the place, "Hmm... This place is such a drag. So... Wanna go back to my place?"

I held up my hands, "Wait, I still have questions... So this entire place was created by that god to woo you, right?"

She nodded, "Yep~ Kind of a freak if you ask me. He thought I was into Dungeons and stuff and making something like this will attract me or something."

"Right... Umm... I remember you said something like there were other gods who were also chasing after you as well?"

"Oh? I did? That was embarrassing~ Ehehehe~ They’re nothing compared to you though!"

"But... Why me?"

"Ehehehe~ Didn’t I already tell you this before, Aster? Because it’s you~"

I gave her an odd look, wondering just what this goddess in front of me actually wanted from me.

She tilted her head before looking down at herself and let out a gasp.

"Oh!! I was wondering why you were looking at me differently! I forgot I had to cover myself since there were some undesirables around~"

The dress she wore suddenly melted away, leaving her completely naked which was... Honestly what I was more used to seeing at this point... Which said a lot more about her than me.

She stretched her arms above her head, giving me a full, unobstructed view of her boobs that bounced tantalisingly in front of me.

"Mmmm~ There we go! That feels much better!"

I cleared my throat, trying to bring the topic back on point, "Ahem... Umm... I wanted to ask as well, Hiandoca... The fact that this space opened up in our World... Does that mean something?"

Hiandoca paused and stared at me for a good few seconds before letting out a breath, "Sigh... I was hoping you wouldn’t think about that... Do you really want to know, Aster?"

"I mean... After you say it like that... It’s hard not to ask for more details at this point, you know?"

"Ehehe~ Fair enough. Let’s just put it this way... There has been some... Things... That are happening between the Gods outside of our World and they are now paying attention to this World."

"Paying attention to this World? What does that even mean?"

"That means there might be more rifts and stuff opening up that leads to dimensions controlled by other Gods appearing around the World."

"What the heck? Why would that even happen? Why are you guys even allowing this?"

She scoffed, "Oh believe me, we definitely aren’t allowing it at all. It’s really nothing new actually. Gods have been trying to undermine other Gods for as long as we have existed. It’s just that now, because we took in all these Off-Worlders into our World, some of the other Gods have become curious on how it has affected this place so they decided to invite themselves to our World just to see what has happened after we made that decision."

"Can’t you guys like... I dunno... Kick them out? Or complain?"

"Ehehehe~ This is why I love you, Aster~ You’re so cute~ Of course we would kick them out, but that is assuming we can find them to begin with~ It’s not like they will come here while announcing themselves. As for complaining about them... Who can we even complain to?"

"I dunno... I thought that there might be some higher up that manages all the gods or something..."

She giggled, "Ehehehe~ You really are cute, Aster. Mmm... Well, I would say you don’t really need to worry about it for now. If things change, I guess we’ll call you~ For now, just continue living and enjoying your life~ And press that button from time to time, ok? It’s been a while since you’ve shocked me and I’m feeling lonely~"

She then pressed her palm against my chest and gave me a light push and the world around me turned black.

Eh?! Wait! What about the other people still stuck in that dimension?!
