Chapter 1359: Ardiolyta Fight
Chapter 1359: Ardiolyta Fight
Ardiolyta punched her fists together and I could feel an intense pressure rolling off of her, enough to make me feel like I was standing in front of a giant.
Unlike Odeta… Sister Ardi had no qualms about using her full strength in her spar with me so if I wanted to live through this… I’m going to need to be serious too.
I lowered myself into my combat stance, focusing my full attention on her.
I have to treat this fight seriously or else I might actually be in trouble.
Ardiolyta definitely intends to go all out here so I’ll have to face her with the same intent.
I sucked in a breath and focused as well, fully immersing myself into my combat mode.
As though sensing my intent to fight, Ardi intensified the pressure and the ground beneath her feet actually cracked in response.
Why is she taking this fight so seriously?!
There was no indicator to start the fight as she suddenly kicked off the ground and lunged towards me.
I knew her strength was almost twice of mine so I couldn’t fight her head on and instead, worked on using my faster reflexes and speed to my advantage.
She attempted a punch towards my head and I immediately shifted my face to the side, avoiding the blow as her fist sailed past the side of my temple.
But she wasn’t the instructor for Amraps for nothing as she quickly shifted her hand to sweep her arm over towards me to attempt a grab, forcing me to duck my head and hop backwards to get out of her range before I could try and deliver a counter.
She didn’t even allow me to compose myself as she immediately chased after me, thrusting out her other hand in a palm strike which I had to divert away by smacking at her wrist to the side since I couldn’t avoid it in time.
Even though she didn’t hit me, the palm strike was strong enough to cause a shockwave to explode out which knocked me stumbling to the side.
I then felt something kick at my feet and I found myself looking up at the sky as I was in the midst of falling over.
My instincts took over as I reached out my hand, slamming it on the ground and sending myself flying upwards.
Just in time as well since Ardi immediately attempted another kick but this time aimed at my midsection which would have sent me crashing towards the trees.
I flipped myself in midair and swung a midair kick at Ardi, only for her to block it with her arm before she immediately grabbed onto my ankle to throw me towards the trees.
I was just glad she didn’t choose to smash me into the ground, though I suppose if she did, I would have an opportunity to throw an attack at her at that range as well.
Tucking myself into a ball, I flipped myself again and extended my legs right before I crashed into the trees, using my feet to cushion myself before kicking off of it to fly back towards Ardi.
It looked like I was going to deliver a flying punch so she raised her arms in preparation to intercept it.
But right as I was about to reach her, I spun around in midair and smashed my tail against the ground, changing my flight path and flipping myself over her.
Ardi immediately tried to turn around to face me but I had kicked out my leg to smash my heel against her chest.
She let out a grunt as the blow caught her by surprise and she ended up stumbling back a step, giving me the space I needed to land on my feet.
I lowered myself into a half crouch, curling up my tail into a spring before I struck it against the ground behind me again.
This propelled me forward explosively and I threw another punch at Ardi.
She managed to cross her arms in time, catching my attack in the centre of her crossed arms but ended up getting blown skidding back.
I tried to press my advantage, leaping at her to try and tackle her to the ground.
That was when the pressure around her suddenly increased and the ground beneath her cracked before a shockwave exploded out from her with a thundering roar, sending me flying back.
What the heck was that?
I flared my wings, stopping myself in midair to stop myself from crashing into the trees and levitating in the air.
Ardi then jumped at me, her body encased in flames and using it to propel herself towards me.
What the heck?! Do you really need to use magic to fight me as well?!
Without much time to react, I threw up my arm to block the blow, her fist connecting with me right as my arm went up.
An incredible force struck against me and I was sent flying back down towards the ground, smashing into it without being able to do anything.
Pain erupted from around my body but it quickly disappeared as I immediately activated my healing magic on myself, patching up all the damages that were dealt to me from that blow.
I leapt back on my feet and to her, it should look like I took no damage from that.
A manic grin appeared on her lips as she dove down towards me, still using the flames to propel herself as she shot towards me like a flaming comet.
Looking up at the flaming Ardi crashing down towards me, I also decided to stop holding back as well.
I only had a few seconds before she came crashing down on me so I only buffed myself with two layers of [Strength], one layer of [Body Current] and one more layer of [Lightning Clad] centered around my arm.
As soon as she came within range, I punched my fist up, smashing it against Ardi’s punch.
An immense weight pushed down on me as lightning crashed against fire.
The ground beneath my feet cracked and I felt myself sink into the ground before it just cracked and cratered.
In fact, I could see several stones rising up into the air as the pressure between our strength contest caused the air around us to rise.
It didn’t help as lightning and fire were also shooting out from between us from time to time.
I felt my arm being pushed back slightly and I focused more strength into it, forcing Ardi back.
More flames seemed to shoot out of her as she pushed even harder down at me, the earth letting out another groan beneath my feet.
My arm was now lowered until it was almost down to the top of my head. Any further and her fist would be right on top of me.
I let out a roar and focused more of my strength into my arm, shoving Ardi back and managing to send up flying back up to the sky.
She flipped around and levitated in the air so I kicked off the ground and flared my wings to level out at the same height as her.
With both of us facing each other, we shot towards the other and attempted another punch.
This time, I layered even more buffs on myself, stacking five of them on top of myself and feeling my body start to reject itself from the multiple layers of buffs.
I swallowed the bile in my throat and focused on maintaining it for one more exchange with Ardi as the older Amrap shot herself towards me.
Our fists clashed again and I was expecting another stalemate before there was a loud crack and Ardi suddenly disappeared from in front of me as soon as my fist touched hers.
That was followed by a loud crash as the waterfall suddenly exploded and both rock, dirt and water flew in every direction, changing the landscape of the area.
I blinked as the buffs drained out of me and I realised that Ardi had been sent crashing down towards the waterfall and now lay there in a heap while she was still on fire, the water around her turning into steam.
I was worried that I broke something and flew down to her, only to see her laughing while still laying on her back.
“Ahahahaha!! I never thought I would be so thoroughly beaten!! You’ve already gotten so strong, Sister Aster!!”
I then saw her arm was quite literally bent in a pretty bad angle and obviously broken and couldn’t help but wince.
But even as I watched, the fire around her arm seemed to wrap around it like a bandage and straightened it on its own before returning it back to normal.
Wait… Did she just… Regenerate from her wounds without using Iatromancy? What kind of magic is that? I’ve never seen that before!!
That is so cool! How did you learn that? Teach me!
