Chapter 1232: We’re In The Tunnels Next
“Mistress! Are you alright?!”
“Boss!! Where have you been?!”
I raised my hand to stop them, “Hold on… Are you two who you say you are?”
Both girls stopped in the midst of running up to me to look at each other.
“Eh? Does this place have that kind of setting?” Emilia asked.
“Did you not mention the fact that you saw your parents or something in the previous location?” Katsuki pointed out.
“Oh right, I forgot about that. I remembered it as this place giving me the opportunity to vent out my frustrations on them instead. That was a really great opportunity too! I hope they let me do it again!”
“I don’t think that place was meant for that, Emilia…”
“It doesn’t matter, right? I got to take out my frustrations on those idiots regardless, that’s a plus!”
“Be that as it may, we still have to prove to Mistress that it is really us.”
’Hello, hello~ Testing, testing~ Is this thing working?’ I spoke through the ring’s telepathic connection.
Both of them paused for a moment before they answered through telepathy as well.
’Yes Mistress, I can hear you.’
’Me too, Boss!’
Ok, that’s good enough for me.
I grinned at them and stretched out my arms towards them.
Emilia reacted immediately and rushed towards my arms and hugged me tightly.
Katsuki was more reserved so she did not run up to me like Emilia but she still walked over to stand by my side.
Naturally, I wasn’t going to let her go with just that so I pulled her in for a hug as well.
Mmmm~ Fluff fluff~ I got a cat girl and dog girl in each arm~ I should do this more often~ Fluff fluff~
“So what happened with the both of you?” I asked.
Emilia clucked her tongue, “Tsk… I was in the middle of gathering everything that was valuable in the room when everything suddenly turned to dust. I had even done an estimate of their value too and that was an entire fifty seven thousand, eight hundred and twenty two Creas that was lost!”
I don’t even want to ask how she even knew down to the single digits of how much Creas the stuff she had was worth…
Katsuki then sighed while still in my embrace, “She wouldn’t leave the room despite the fact we had already found the key to unlock it… She insisted on taking all the treasures with us…”
Emilia pouted, “Can you blame me? Everything there was worth a lot of Creas! Was I just supposed to ignore free Creas? Would you ignore Aster’s clothes that were laying around?”
Katsuki chose not to respond to that, though I’m not sure how those two were related.
Oh, I think she meant that if Katsuki would just ignore the clothes I laid around instead of washing them of course. And being the perfect maid she was, Katsuki would naturally pick them up to washthem properly~
Emilia then continued, “Anyway, after the things turned to dust we thought about leaving the room until we heard all the commotion coming from the outside and decided to wait and see.”
Hmm? There was quite a long period of time between us picking up that key which changed the entire mansion and us making noise upstairs though…
I guess their room in particular wasn’t affected by our actions and they did something else which caused their room to change?
“Did you two find anything else?” I asked.
Emilia reached into the space between her boobs and pulled out a key that looked similar to the one that we found in that doll room.
“Yep~ Aside from the key to our door, we also found this other key inside one of the pots that I was appraising. The moment I picked it up though, the entire mansion changed and all the treasures disappeared.”
Hmm… I guess I was right about their room not being affected by us picking up our key.
I took out the key that we found and the moment I did so, my key flew out of my palm and so did Emilia’s, both of them smacking together like they were attracted by a really strong magnetic force.
The two keys merged together and it turned from a dull brown colour to a glistening silver colour.
It spun in the air for a moment before it landed back on my palm.
I was just about to wonder if this key would even serve any purpose considering the fact that I already broke down all the doors here when a trail of silver dust drifted out from the key.
It then floated towards the wall at the end of the corridor and a door that had not been there before shimmered into existence.
I guess we know what this key is for then…
I led the way as my girls gathered around me, watching as I inserted the key into the lock and turned it with a ’click’.
Instead of swinging or even sliding open, the door simply disappeared, revealing a long passageway behind it.
I turned back to look at my girls, intending to check if they were ready to step past the doorway when I noticed there was an additional member behind all of them.
That extra ’person’ was one of the dolls we had found in the first room that we had busted into except that it was way bigger in size.
It was so huge and bloated up that it literally filled up the entire corridor, leaving no room for anything to squeeze past it.
I had thought it was supposed to block us from moving back when it lifted up one of its hands to form a fist to bear down on us.
“Odeta!!” I cried out, still looking up at the puppet that was trying to punch us.
She seemed to know why I was calling her immediately as she quickly turned around with her fist pulled back, my Amrap punching at the giant puppet without hesitation.
Both of their fists collided and the puppet ended up getting sent sliding back down the hallway.
It wasn’t enough to destroy it but at least it created distance between us for now.
I then buffed Odeta with [Strength] and she rushed forward to deliver another punch, this time with enough force to send the puppet flying all the way to the other side of the hall and smashing against the wall, completely shattering it into pieces.
But before we could even relax, the pieces reassembled back together, the puppet completely restoring itself back to perfect shape before it started to trudge towards us again.
Hmm… If it isn’t going to stay down, let me try this…
I raised my hand at it and fired a [Fire Blast], engulfing the entire puppet with flames.
I was hoping that the fire would incinerate it or something but aside from being set on fire, it doesn’t seem like it even affected the puppet much.
It’s like the fire only coated its exterior and nothing more.
Tsk… I guess these guys are immune to being burned or something…
Well, it’s not like we have to defeat it anyway because I’m pretty sure we can… But it’ll just be a waste of time for us to do so since we wouldn’t get anything out of beating it.
“Come on girls, let’s just go,” I suggested, though not before I threw a [Earth Ball] at the puppet to send it skidding back down the corridor.
All of us stepped through the doorway which should be too small for the puppet to enter and I used [Spotlight] to create a source of illumination in the dark corridor.
We only managed to move a few metres before we came to an intersection where three paths led in different directions.
“So after a run down mansion, they put us in a dungeon maze?” Odeta huffed, looking at the paths.
Oh, I didn’t even notice but I guess that’s true. The walls do make it look like those Dungeons we would go diving in.
“Well… Which way should we go?” Lisa asked, casually slipping her arm around mine to hug in between her chest.
Katsuki sniffed the air for a moment and her ears twitched before she pointed to the path on our right, “I believe there’s something down that way… It might be a monster since the smell is… Rather bad.”
Odeta punched her fists together, “A monster?! Let’s go beat it then!!”
Katsuki ignored her and pointed at the path straight ahead, “There’s also some noises coming from the front. It sounds like there’s something metallic banging against something else that is also metallic which is interjected by some hissing sounds in between.”
Err… Metallic? Hissing sounds? Is it some kind of snake monster wearing armour or something?
She continued to point at the last path, “Down that way… I smell something sweet like–”
“Let’s gooooo!!” I cried out, already pulling along my girls to head towards the left path.
Yayyyy~ They probably intended this place to be a rest stop for us where we can take a break and give us some sweets and tea to enjoy!
Wait for me, my sweets! I’m coming~
