Chapter 1162: The Upper District
The process to obtain the visitation permit was actually pretty easy.
They just needed to check my status with [Analyze] to make sure I wasn’t a criminal and then had me understand that I was not allowed to wander off on my own and had to follow and obey the instructions of the guide at all times.
Then I just had to pay ten Decreas as a fee which I slid over the counter which they even issued a receipt for.
Once that was done, I received a wrist band that turned out to be the visitation permit.
I was told that I would need to return it at the office once the tour was done and was not allowed to bring it out with me.
They then assigned me to a ’tour group’ that was organised to head towards the outskirts of the castle that was scheduled to depart in ten minutes.
There were four of us including me with a female Yoblin and a futa and female Mahun couple.
I only knew they were even a couple and one of them was a futa simply because we had to wait for our guide and the female Mahun went ahead to go down on her lover without any prompting.
Honestly… Watching them also made me a little turned on and I almost went to a corner to get Eins to calm me down.
The Yoblin was completely ignoring them the entire time as she was busy fiddling with some kind of gadget in her hands so none of us bothered to introduce ourselves to each other.
As though it was planned ahead of time, the guide finally arrived after the Mahun couple had finished and were done dressing up.
She greeted us and introduced herself as Miyu before we set off for the front gates.
“Are you first time visitors?” Miyu asked, clearly just trying to get some small talk going.
“No,” The Yoblin answered simply without any other elaboration.
The two Mahuns nodded their heads, their arms wrapped around each other’s waists.
Damn normies…
“It’s my first time here as well,” I told her.
Miyu grinned, “I assume the three of you come from Lehcarouc Kingdom right? What do you think about our city so far?”
The futa Mahun hugged her lover tighter, “Oh, I’m already loving the culture here. It’s so much less restrictive than back at our home.”
Obviously she’s talking about the fact that the restrictions on public sex were non-existent here as compared to Lehcarouc where you can only do so in designated areas outside of your own private space.
These two are perverts in other words…
Miyu nodded her head in understanding, “I know what you mean~ We are not afraid to show the love we have for our partners as we believe that such a beautiful sight is not something that we should be ashamed of.”
I suppose that’s one way of seeing it… But I’ll have to disagree on that… Though I sometimes I do indulge in that act outside, I still believe making love to your partners is something intimate and private.
I will admit that the belief partly comes from the fact that I’m quite possessive and I don’t like other guys ogling my lovers.
Still, I decided to keep my mouth shut on that topic and merely commented on something else instead.
“It feels like your city has a lot of administrative processes for everything else though,” I pointed out before raising my arm that had the visitation permit strapped to it. “I’m surprised you even have an office for people to apply for something like this.”
“I’m so glad you noticed! All of these were new implementations made by our newly appointed city governor who started introducing all these ideas to improve our standard of living! It might seem troublesome at first but with these implementations, the city is much safer and more organised than before!”
Hmm… So I guess the Off-Worlder is occupying the city governor position then.
Well… Nothing to do with me~
We reached the front gate and the guards stopped us to check our visitation permits before letting us through without much problems.
Heck, even Miyu had to show some kind of license that showed she was an actual guide before they let her pass.
She turned to us with a bright smile, “Welcome to the upper district! The people who live here are usually the really rich or people involved with the royal court including ministers and generals. Right now we’re in the common area of the district so the buildings here are mostly businesses and private and public offices. If you see any stores you are interested in, we will come back later and you can pay them a visit too~”
I looked around and sure enough, the buildings around us were mostly shops and this part of the district seems accessible to the locals of the lower districts too.
The shops here reminded me of the high class shops in the noble district as well, so clearly these places were designed to serve the upper class clientele.
I guess that’s why they allow outsiders to visit since their homes were technically not here anyway. And these stores would definitely welcome the additional business that visitors would bring them so it’s no wonder that they allowed us in.
Miyu gestured down the road, “Now, since we have three first timers here, I assume all of you are interested in taking a look at the castle up close?”
Both the Mahuns and I nodded while the Yoblin was obviously not as interested, most likely having already seen it before or just genuinely disinterested in it.
We headed in the direction of the castle, passing by the shoppers that were busy making their purchases of the day.
Along the way, Miyu continued to act the part of our enthusiastic guide as she pointed out the various landmarks of the upper district.
I hadn’t thought about this but they had used each of the large trees growing within the city as a landmark itself, going so far as to name the streets after them.
So you could tell your friend to meet you at the Winding Wood tree and they would know which specific tree to find you at.
When I asked what the process was for a non-citizen to purchase a property here, Miyu basically told me that the properties within the upper district were reserved for people who work in the Kingdom’s government.
So even if you were filthy rich, you wouldn’t be able to live in the upper district unless you work here.
I guess it was the same with Lehcarouc Kingdom anyway so that was not a surprise.
We finally reached the castle and… Well… If you were expecting us to be allowed into the castle, you would be sorely disappointed.
Miyu had led us in front of another pair of trees that had more guards watching over it with the path leading directly to the castle itself.
“And that’s the castle everyone! Isn’t it a marvel?”
The futa Mahun looked confused and tilted her head at our guide, “Are we not going inside?”
Miyu scratched her cheek, “Ah… That’s a common misunderstanding. Outsiders are only allowed to see the castle from a distance, not head inside. The castle is still being used by the Royal Family after all and if we allowed anyone to head inside, it would be a potential security risk. But we are still allowed to be this close to it!”
The female Mahun raised her hand slightly, “Are there events that might allow the public to visit the castle’s interior?”
“Ah… I’m afraid not. Even during festivals, the castle itself is a restricted area…”
“Hmm… Even Crown Capital City sometimes opens the palace grounds to the public during major events… Do you not have that here?”
“Unfortunately not.”
“How disappointing…”
I don’t know about you… But now I’m a bit suspicious of what the motives of these two were since they seem to really want to go inside the castle.
Are they spies or maybe even assassins aiming for the Royal Family?
The futa Mahun then turned to her lover, “I suppose our wish of having sex inside the castle of this Kingdom would not be fulfilled, darling.”
…
Right… I forgot… These two were just perverts…
Miyu didn’t even look offended by that futa’s admission and simply giggled, “Ehehe~ I get what you mean. But unfortunately that isn’t allowed here. The castle itself is completely off limits. Although if you wish, you can have a quickie here if you want~ Right now it’s just free time for all of you to admire the surroundings~”
Without even a moment’s hesitation, the futa rolled up her skirt and her lover sank to her knees in front of her.
The Yoblin shot them an annoyed look but seemed to resign herself to needing to wait for them to finish and simply sat down to continue fiddling with the gadget I saw back at the office earlier.
As for me… I guess I’ll just do what Miyu said and admire the surroundings… Far away from those two perverts.
