Chapter 1121: Just Rounding Up Some Thugs
Those thugs approached Emilia who wasn’t looking worried at all and was just watching them like they were new customers coming to purchase something from her.
The leader of the thug was some skinny and tall male Mahun with a thick wooden plank in his hand that he was propping up on his shoulder threateningly.
He stopped just a short distance away from Emilia and jerked his chin at her, “You… Heard that you’re selling some stuff around here are you? Do you even know who this territory belongs to?”
Emilia acted surprised, “Huh? This place had been claimed? There’s no way!”
“Yes way, and you have been getting quite a lot of business, haven’t you? We’re willing to let this go if you just pay us whatever you earned, the penalty for doing business here and also leaving your goods behind. Got it?”
Emilia quickly nodded while acting like she was scared, “Yes, yes! Please… Please follow me! The money is all right here!”
She turned and started walking towards the alley once more, all the while still bowing her head like she was genuinely afraid of the thugs.
The thugs were already looking pretty confident and relaxed after seeing Emilia’s subservient attitude. So it came to no surprise that when Unerolia personally jumped out behind them and swung the flat of her sword to knock several of them down, none of them were even prepared for something like that.
Hmm… I had been wondering this from earlier but where the heck are they hiding? I don’t really see any hiding spots in that alley where they could be laying in wait without being spotted…
As they were turning back to watch Sister Rolia smack even more of them down into the ground, Emilia straightened herself and slashed out her sheathed blade at the closest thug, smacking him right at the side of his head to smash him into the ground.
Odeta also joined in as she literally ran straight into the group to send the remaining ones flying away, knocking most of them out with the force of her charge alone before the knights moved in to round all of them up to take them away.
Emilia then patted down her clothes to smoothen the creases before walking out of the alley like nothing had happened and continued what she was doing before the thugs appeared.
Guess I didn’t even need to do anything after all.
I approached them from the side and Emilia saw me first, my Nekomata merchant raising her hand in greeting.
“Oh hello there customer! Are you also looking for some of our special goods? For such a beautiful girl like you, just head on to the back! No need to be shy!”
I’m guessing this was her way of directing me to the alley without looking suspicious to any onlookers… Though I would argue that the fact she returned alone from the alley after ushering those thugs there would have been a really big sign that something was wrong already…
Deciding not to think too much about it, I simply followed her direction and stepped into the alley and out of sight of the main road.
The moment I did so, a pair of hands reached out and grabbed me before pulling me into the darkness behind a wall.
Oh… The walls were an illusion, so that’s how they had prepared this.
I looked up to see Odeta grinning down at me as she hugged me tightly against her.
“Hello, Sister Aster!” She chuckled, leaning down towards me.
I figured out what she wanted so I stood on my tiptoes and gave her a kiss on the lips, our tongues touching for a brief moment before I pulled back.
“Mmm~ Hello, Odeta. It seems like you have been busy?” I asked, my gaze moving to the area behind her where the guards were still busy dealing with the thugs they had just captured under Unerolia’s direction.
The Marchioness hasn’t seen me yet or else she would have also rushed here as well.
Odeta let out a laugh, “Wahaha! This is nothing, Sister Aster! Dealing with these guys wouldn’t even let me break a sweat! What I’m more interested in though, is to spar with the Marchioness! She already agreed to have a bout with me after this thing is dealt with!”
Oh… I better make sure that things are prepared properly for their spar then… Who knows what they might break if there weren’t enough protections put in place?
I already experienced first hand what might happen with either of them going overboard so if these two were to fight each other seriously… I think saying that half the city might be destroyed wouldn’t even be an exaggeration…
Odeta turned back to me, not noticing the worries I had at all, “So how was your meeting with the Goddess, Sister Aster?”
“Ah, it went well. I managed to find out what I wanted after all. She did offer to help us with this but I turned her down since I thought it might be a little too extreme…”
Odeta’s eyes widened, “You… Rejected the Goddess and she– Ah, what am I talking about. As expected of Sister Aster! Wahahaha!”
Seems like she’s already adapted to it pretty well, huh?
That was when I heard another commotion coming from beyond the wall.
“You! What happened to my brothers?! I know they came here to confront you, didn’t they?!”
Emilia’s fake panicked voice then came from beyond the wall, “Ah… Ah… I… I don’t know what dear customer is talking about? I’m just… I’m just a small merchant here to make some money? I… I never intended to offend anyone…”
“Don’t play games with me! Did a group of people come by to tell you who this territory belongs to?!”
“N… No… Not at all! I… I would have already packed everything up if I knew I was doing business in your territory!”
“Not my territory! Have you never heard of the Merai Slaver group at all?! Did we even allow you to set up a stall here?!”
“I… I apologise! I am merely just an outsider! I didn’t know about this! What… What do I have to do to make it up to your group?”
“Hmm… Did no one really come here at all?”
“Not at all! Please, believe me!”
There was a pause before the guy that Emilia was talking to spoke again, “Very well… I’m in a generous mood right now and you don’t look that bad… So why not we go and see your earnings for your little stall and then you show us a good time before we let you go? We would even let you leave with some of the money you earned too. Aren’t I generous?”
“Yes! Yes! Thank you very much! Please follow me!”
I pulled away from Odeta and stood by the illusion of a wall that allowed me to see through it but blocked anyone on the other side from seeing me.
I waited until Emilia appeared while leading a rather muscular looking man who was obviously eyeing Emilia with lewd intentions.
Lowering myself into a stance, I held my position for a while more until I was sure that everyone in that group had entered the alley before I lunged out to grab the bastard that was eyeing my Emilia with his disgusting gaze.
He turned his head and looked at me in surprise but I tightened my grip on his wrist, hearing a loud snap coming from between my fingers.
He tried to let out a shout of pain but I had already used [Air Pocket] to create an isolated ball of air around his head to muffle it before I pulled him through the wall.
The others had also jumped out of their hiding spots to start subduing the remaining thugs but I ignored them as I was not done with this one yet.
I went ahead to give him a quick punch across his jaw to knock a few teeth out and he finally managed to recover to try and retaliate against me.
He pulled back his fist and tried to punch me in the face but he was moving so slow that I had time to consider if I should just kill him or not before I settled on ducking under his punch to deliver a kick in between his legs.
There was a loud crunch coming from where my foot had impacted his crotch and I hopped back to let the guy collapse onto the ground while holding his crotch in pain, his pants starting to stain from the blood pouring out from there.
The knights who had been nearby winced and also held their crotch for a moment before they came forward to deal with the thug with the busted balls.
None of them were willing to look me in the eye as they dragged the thug away to put him with the rest of his comrades.
Hmph… That will teach you to lust after what’s mine.
