Chapter 1111: Goddess Srii
Chapter 1111: Goddess Srii
I looked at the goddess in front of me with a flabbergasted expression on my face.
She was looking up at me with sparkles in her eyes and a big smile on her face, the very image of a maiden in love.
“What?” I replied eloquently.
“Let’s get married,” She repeated, probably thinking that I didn’t hear her the first time.
“Umm… I… Don’t think that’s possible, is it?” I asked, shifting my gaze to Hiandoca.
However, the goddess in front of me shifted herself to appear in front of me again, “Why not?”
“Eh? Isn’t goddess Srii a goddess? Can gods even get married?”
The goddess of death tilted her head at me as though I just asked her an inconceivable question, “I dunno?”
Why are you unsure of it yourself? Aren’t you one of the gods??
I almost blurted that out until I stopped myself, reminding myself that the person in front of me is supposedly the goddess of death who presumably has an issue with Off-Worlders and wants them dead.
I tried to peek at Hiandoca for help again and this time she came over to stand beside me with her arms crossed.
“What are you even talking about Srii?!”
Yeah! Tell her, Hiandoca! She must be joking right? Or maybe even testing me! She should not–
“If anyone is going to marry Aster, it’s me!!”
…
I take back what I said…
Srii didn’t even look like she heard her and just continued looking at me.
It took me a moment to realise she was still waiting for my response to her proposal.
“Umm… Err… Goddess Srii–”
“Please call me Srii.”
“Eh? Isn’t that too presumptuous of me?”
“You call this thing Hiandoca don’t you? Call me Srii.”
Hiandoca puffed up her chest, her naked boobs bouncing tantalisingly from the action, “Who are you calling ’this thing’?! I swear, you’re just acting obnoxious just to piss us off most of the time!”
I mean… First of all, I don’t mind calling Hiandoca that because she’s pretty chill and doesn’t show any interest in wanting to kill Off-Worlders…
But right now, I don’t even know if this death goddess knows I’m an Off-Worlder or not. Maybe she’s only acting like this because she thinks I’m not an Off-Worlder and the moment she knows, she would kill me…
“I know,” Srii spoke, obviously reading my mind.
Ah… Right… All the gods I met so far basically could read minds… Why did I assume that she can’t…
I poked my fingers together nervously, “Umm… Aren’t you disgusted with Off-Worlders or something?”
She tilted her head the other way, “I am?”
Why are you asking it like you’re not even sure yourself?!
Her head tilted even further, obviously hearing my question through my thoughts but still looking confused about it.
“Didn’t you give some of the Off-Worlders challenges to kill other Off-Worlders? You even gave out rewards for them to die and I think you even said that if you had your way, the entire World would die or something?”
Her eyes lit up, “Mmm… I suppose I did say that. But I only said that because of the–”
Hiandoca went over and covered her mouth, cutting the death goddess off while placing a finger over her own lips, “You!! Shhhhh!! Did you forget what we said about this?!”
“Mnn mm hmmm?” Srii mumbled into Hiandoca’s palm.
Ok, I’m just going to say it… I was not expecting Srii to turn out to be like this.
I thought for sure if I were to ever meet her, I would either be fighting for my life or I would be dead.
Still, I guess I can definitely say I prefer this interaction much more.
Hiandoca turned to me, “Aster, I’m just going to tell you right now that Srii is an odd one even for us. So don’t take whatever she says seriously, ok?”
Err… I mean… It’s not like I even know what’s going on right now anyway…
Srii reached up and pulled Hiandoca’s hand away from her mouth, “I am serious about the marriage, Aster. Won’t you marry me?”
I scratched my cheek, “Umm… Like I said… Isn’t that not allowed or something?”
“It is?” “Not at all!”
Both Hiandoca and Srii answered me at the same time.
I blinked at them and thankfully Hiandoca decided to explain to me, “There’s no such rule in the first place? What even made you think you can’t do that?”
“Err… The fact that… You are all gods and we’re supposed to be beneath you or something?”
“Isn’t that precisely why there’s no rule for that? Why would we even put such a stupid rule like we can’t marry someone we fancy just because they aren’t a god as well? We are the ones who make the rules aren’t we? It wouldn’t make sense if we made up some stupid rule to restrict ourselves! Think about it! I would literally die if I can’t get fucked by you!”
I’m not so sure about the last part but I shall not comment on that…
Srii took another step towards me, “That’s why, Aster… Won’t you marry me?”
I held up a hand, “Wait, wait… Why do you even want to marry me in the first place? We literally only just met!”
“And yet, you are here, talking to me like normal instead of falling over on the ground and foaming at the mouth.”
“Eh? What does that have to do with anything?”
Hiandoca cleared her throat to get my attention before gesturing at Ather who was still unconscious on the ground.
I turned back to them, “I don’t get it?”
Hiandoca pointed at Srii, “Aster… This bitch here is the goddess of death. You felt death the moment you met her, didn’t you?”
A lightbulb went off in my head, “Ah… I guess anyone that meets her would get the feeling of dying as well and most people just collapse unconscious because of that? Maybe some people might even just die on the spot?”
Hiandoca giggled, “Ehehehe~ That’s right~ You’re the first person to not only not pass out from being in her presence but even went as far as to completely ignore the feeling of her full authority too!”
“Ignore her? I don’t… I don’t think I did that?”
“Oh you most certainly did! In fact, I’m curious how you even manage to do that? With what she was doing, you should have been literally staring death straight in the face. Something that would have made you feel like you were about to die. Yet you didn’t even flinch! What did you see?”
“Eh? You don’t know?”
“It was something that only you could see, so only you knew what was shown to you. So what happened?” The sex goddess asked, leaning forward with interest.
“Ummm… Well… I saw the giant truck that destroyed our old World coming down towards us…”
Hiandoca nodded, “Mmm… That makes sense. That was what caused your death after all, so your subconscious recreated the same scene and feeling of the exact event that brought about your death. So why weren’t you panicking or at least scared about your imminent death?”
Err…
I guess I should just say it…
“So… When the truck destroyed our old World back then, I was preparing to eat some cake but only just managed to eat a bite of it before the whole World was destroyed… So when I saw that vision, I wasn’t going to let the cake go to waste again… And I was more focused on eating the cake than the truck coming down from the sky…”
Both Hiandoca and Srii just stared at me, though Hiandoca was staring at me in disbelief while Srii was looking at me with obviously adoring eyes.
I’m not even sure if Srii was listening to anything I was saying right now because she looks like she’s more interested in just staring at me.
Hiandoca pointed at me, “You… Ignored death… Just to eat cake?”
I raised my finger, “Ok, to be fair, it was a really, really nice slice of cake. And the truck was taking forever to come down anyway so I went back into the kitchen to eat the rest of the cakes I had inside there! In fact, I wasn’t even done eating it before I found myself here again! So can you like… Put me back there and let me finish it before I come back again?”
Hiandoca was now looking at me like I just told her there was no such thing as gods or something.
Srii on the other hand… She took another step closer to me and stretched out both her hands towards me.
“Aster… Could I… Could I shake your hand?”
Eh? That’s a rather odd request but I guess she wanted to use this as some kind of greeting?
Not thinking too much about it, I reached out my hand and grasped hers before giving her hand a shake.
She looked down at my hand, then at my face, then back at my hand again.
Then she started to cry.
What did I do this time?!
