We gave our guests a few days to settle in since they would probably be spending at least a few weeks here, so we made sure they had rooms and were comfortable and everything.

I brought everyone to the portal through my teleportation door, appearing in front of it before all of us stepped through into the portal.

The first thing I noticed was that the camp seemed to have expanded a little where the walls were pushed out further to the street so that the fort had more space.

The reason for that was clear as there were now a bunch of tents that had been set up at the side with several people occupying that space.

And a few of those people look quite familiar.

More specifically, they looked like the people we found in the bunker and the mall.

Huh... Seems like either of them had managed to contact the other and they managed to come to a decision to accept my offer of heading to this camp.

For now, it looked like they had separated themselves from everyone else and there was a distinct space separating them from the rest of the camp, though I wasn’t sure if that space was made by the survivors themselves or from our own people.

When we stepped through, a group of Vanguards immediately came up to me, all of them being other worlders who were left here to watch over the camp since they could stay in the miasma without a Mortal God’s protection unlike the people from our world.

This group seemed to be a mix as I saw a few elves, a dwarf and even a centaur in their group, with the centaur being the leader as he approached me directly.

He gave me a deep bow which the people behind him mirrored, "Mortal God. We are honoured by your presence."

He then shifted his gaze to Siti and Diana who were beside me before peeking at me.

It took me a moment to realise that he most likely didn’t recognise them since most people wouldn’t meet a Mortal God in real life to begin with.

I was just about to introduce them when Liyana stepped forward and scowled at the centaur, "You are standing in the presence of Goddess Siti. Do you not know how to pay your respects to your Goddess?"

Rahayu also stepped forward at almost the same time, "My divine Goddess Diana has graced you with her presence, are you not going to greet her?"

The centaur seemed at a loss until Olivia stepped up, her massive frame commanding attention again.

"Once again, may I remind you both that this is my Lord’s domain? It is natural that the people of his domain pay the most respect to him, not to visitors."

Oh no... I honestly didn’t think that the three of them would be butting their heads against each other this much... You three never even did this when we were at the summit...

Though I guess it’s because all three of us were guests at that time and none of us needed to worry about all this etiquette stuff aside from our hosts.

I looked at the two Mortal Goddesses beside me and... They weren’t even paying attention to our Guardians butting their heads at all and were both more interested in looking around the place.

Heck, they don’t seem to have noticed the centaur in front of them as well, acting like his presence was of no big deal to them.

I found it ironic that the people the etiquette was meant to appease don’t even care about it.

I sighed and turned back to the centaur, "These two are the Mortal Gods of Malaysia and Indonesia. Treat them with the same respect."

The centaur immediately bowed again, "Mortal Gods... We are honoured by your visit."

The both of them made noncommittal huffs at his words, almost like he was just some white noise in the background.

Good thing was that this seemed to pacify the two Guardians enough that they nodded their heads in satisfaction and stepped back, allowing me to address the centaur to ask the real question.

I nodded in the direction of the survivor camp, "What happened here?"

He turned to look in the direction of the survivors, a grimace forming on his face which told me that something must have happened as well.

"A whole crowd of them came here two days ago, Mortal God... Just like what you instructed us, we made sure that they were here to seek refuge and not trying to attack us. All of them said that they had come here to accept your offer of refuge and we let them in after that."

"Were there any troubles?" I asked.

He hesitated for a moment, as though considering whether he should admit to there being a problem or not before he sighed.

"They have... Not been very accepting of our presence, Mortal God."

That seemed to catch Diana’s and Siti’s attention as they turned to him, though neither of them spoke up.

I nodded at him, "Explain."

He turned back to the others that had been following him to greet me and gave them a jerk of his chin, indicating that they should leave us.

None of them protested as they obediently turned and left, though I assumed it was because they already knew what he was going to say to me and were just leaving to give the illusion that the problem might not be as widespread as it actually is.

The centaur then turned back to me, "They are... Borderline hostile to us, Mortal God. That space between their camp and ours was not there before. But they had been people who threw things at us and there was a... Disagreement... That almost led to a fight. I gave the order to push the walls further out to expand the base to give them that space for themselves."

I frowned at his words, "That bad?"

He hesitated again, "I... If you allow me to speak freely, Mortal God?"

I nodded at him to go ahead.

He let out a breath before speaking again, "In my honest opinion, I do not think they are suitable to be brought over to our world. They do not have any intent on integrating with us and they regard anyone who has awoken powers as an enemy that is no different from the Anomalies. We are highly incompatible."

"Your suggestion is to throw them out?"

"I... If it ensures the safety of everyone... Yes, Mortal God."

Siti sighed beside me, "Throwing them out is not a good idea."

I turned to her in surprise, since I was pretty sure she would be supportive of that idea instead after what I’ve learned about their positions these past few days.

But then she continued, "Throwing them out will make them mad and they might come back for revenge. We might as well just get it done and over with by killing them all right now."

Right... I should have expected that...

And Diana was also nodding along in agreement with Siti’s words too, not seeing any problems with that suggestion at all.

I turned back to look at the survivor camp, "Hmm... Monitor them for now. Keep away from them and watch them like they are a threat. Letting them go would definitely be a risk since they would probably harbour resentment for it and then cause more trouble later when we start dealing with the Anomalies for real. And... I’d prefer not to kill them yet since they are still a vital source of information."

Honestly... Their information isn’t really that vital but Maylene does want the knowledge of some of their tech so we might not be able to get that if we were just going to slaughter them.

Both Siti and Diana shrugged, showing that they didn’t really care about the fates of those survivors to begin with.

The centaur bowed his head, "Understood, Mortal God. I will assign some people to keep an eye on them. Although..."

I waved at him, "It’s alright, I’ll talk to them as well, you don’t need to worry."

"Thank you, Mortal God. Do you need anything else from me?"

"No, we’re just here for another preliminary scouting mission for the sake of our guests. Carry on as normal."

"Understood, Mortal God."

He gave me a bow again and paused before giving both Siti and Diana a bow as well which they acknowledged with a curt nod to dismiss him.

I nodded at the two Mortal Goddess, "Why don’t you go to the command centre so that they can fill you and your Guardians in on the situation? I’ll go and... Have a chat with those survivors to check on them."

They obviously knew I was trying to keep them away from the survivors but they didn’t protest and led their own Guardians towards the command centre under my Guardians’ lead, leaving me only with Dan since he’s the most... Human... Amongst them.

Alright, let’s see what they have to say...
