What Do You Mean I Have Nine Wives?
Chapter 165: Giving a Chance to Mike
Tyler came out of the tower.
The first thing he did was find food. He went to the lobby and asked the staff to prepare a lot of food for him.
Then, he asked the staff to notify Mike while he returned to his room and summoned Kirito.
"Uh?"
When Kirito suddenly appeared in front of him, he blinked, and then his eyes turned red.
Just when Tyler was expecting this man to run up to him and hug him, Kirito sniffed a few times, controlling himself.
"You’ve grown up."
When Tyler saw this, he praised Kirito without hesitation.
"That’s good! Now, I don’t need to send you to that place."
Hearing that, Kirito’s eyes lit up.
"I don’t want to go there. It’s so lonely there."
Tyler nodded. Even when Kirito was ignored by others, at least he was around people outside the tower.
Inside, he was all alone. That kind of loneliness was bound to break someone like him.
"It’s my fault for making you wait for so long. I brought you food. Eat up!"
Tyler pointed his finger towards the table where he had already served food. The entire table was full of food.
Kirito nodded.
They took their seats and started eating. While they were eating, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in!"
Tyler answered.
The door wasn’t locked, so Mike simply opened it and walked in.
When he saw Tyler and Kirito eating together, he froze. He embarrassedly rubbed his head and said.
"I will wait for you outside."
"As long as you don’t mind us eating, we can talk here. I just wanted to see if you are still alive."
Tyler replied.
Mike awkwardly sat down on a bed and said.
"I was just lucky. The country sent every single master to fight the war, so someone like me has been kept to keep an eye on this border."
Hearing that, Tyler raised his eyebrows.
"Has something strange happened in the country?"
Mike shook his head.
"Except for the death of masters and hundreds of thousands of people, what can be called strange?"
Tyler paused for a moment. His senses could feel the blood energy flowing in the air.
But even so, he didn’t state it directly; instead asked.
"Mike, do you love your country?"
"Of course!"
Mike replied without even thinking.
"Have you ever wondered why three Mid-Grade Spirit Veins suddenly appeared in the country?"
"I know it’s a blessing to have so many Spirit Veins, but if I remember correctly, even the powerhouse countries barely have two or three Mid-Grade Spirit Veins, right?"
Hearing that, Mike, who was about to say something, suddenly swallowed his words.
But he still had a lot of faith and love in his country.
"But the Mid-Grade Spirit Vein could still form naturally, right?"
Tyler nodded and asked.
"Tell me something, since the awakening of the first Mid-Grade Spirit Vein, how many people have died from all three countries?"
Mike paused and shook his head.
"I don’t know. At least over a million!"
Tyler nodded.
"Then, what if I tell you someone is absorbing the blood of these millions of dead people to get stronger?"
"Impossible!"
Mike rose from the bed and shouted.
"Impossible? Really? That’s your response when you are sitting in front of a guy who can kill people with just a touch and someone who can kill thousands of people of the same realm with ease?"
Tyler sarcastically asked.
Mike suddenly fell on the bed, and his shoulders slumped. He held his hands together and spoke.
"I don’t know. Before this, I never suspected anything about this war."
Tyler nodded.
"You don’t have the resources or brain to think like that. In fact, when I came to your country, I only felt slightly bad but nothing more."
"It is only when I awaken Spiritual Sense that I felt the true crisis. You are not strong enough or influential enough to help me."
"Who do you think can fill this gap?"
Hearing his words, Mike subconsciously replied.
"Of course, it’s our prime minister!"
"Now that’s the option I don’t like. When the country has a problem, and the one making the situation worse is the person you trust the most, then I truly don’t know who to trust."
Tyler shook his head.
Although he didn’t have any good feelings for the prime minister because of the previous incident, he wasn’t speaking out of feelings.
After all, why did the country suddenly start the war after the appearance of two extra spirit Veins?
Or maybe those two spirit veins appeared because they were in a hurry to start a war?
It could just be a pessimistic viewpoint, but Tyler had always been pessimistic about the situation.
Even with his own awakening, he couldn’t remain optimistic.
Hearing his words, Mike showed unwillingness to trust Tyler, but the death of hundreds of thousands of people still put him in a dilemma.
Even if there was one percent chance that Tyler was right, then he should at least prepare something.
"There is a general who was expelled from the country’s military forces five years ago."
"He is also a Grandmaster and the sixth Grandmaster in the country. He is the only one who is not close to the Prime Minister."
"Okay! I want to meet him. Just tell him that if he wants to save the country, he can come and find me by tomorrow."
"If he doesn’t, then I will just leave."
"Huh? You will leave?"
Mike’s eyes widened.
"Of course, if the country doesn’t want to be saved, why would I try to save it?"
Tyler nonchalantly replied.
"Of course, if you are going to waste your time here, then it could be your fault."
"Oh! Yes, I’m leaving. If I am late, please stay for one more day!"
Mike gave him a deep bow before running out of the room.
At this moment, Kirito softly spoke.
"Can we stay for a while?"
Tyler gave him a chuckle and said.
"Of course, I was just teasing him. I will not leave till I solve that problem."
Then, his expression changed.
"But if this country wants to be saved, then someone must come forward. That person can’t be you or me."
He jokingly blinked and said.
"Unless you want to stay here."
