Seeing that he had leveled up, Liam smiled, his eyes lingering on the EXP count before he dismissed the panel. The two reached their classroom soon after.
Liam hadn’t needed to stop and search for the room; he already had memories from his past life to guide him around campus. He turned into the familiar hallway without hesitation, with Dylan following beside him, and stepped through the classroom door.
The classroom was a wide lecture hall, with rows of seats rising toward the back and a long blackboard covering most of the wall at the front. Students were still finding places, sliding backpacks beneath their seats and opening laptops on the narrow desks.
Someone near the aisle was holding two seats for friends, waving people past while the room filled with overlapping conversations. Liam paused by the entrance, letting Dylan squeeze in beside him as he looked around.
Megan was already seated halfway down the room beside another girl, her new MacBook open in front of her. The girl had long auburn hair arranged in two loose braids over her chest, with a few wavy strands falling around her round, brown-framed glasses. She wore a dark green cable-knit sweater over a white collared shirt and was pointing at something on Megan’s screen with a pen.
Megan leaned closer to listen, then smiled and said something that made the girl laugh. A notebook lay open between them, with the course name written neatly at the top and nothing beneath it yet.
Liam smiled a little at how easily Megan seemed to be making friends now. She looked up when he started down the aisle, and her eyes brightened as she recognized him. Raising one hand, she gave him a small wave. The girl next to her followed her gaze and looked up at Liam, her pen pausing above the notebook as he approached.
Dylan hopped into the classroom and immediately spotted his friends in the back row. One of them raised a hand and gave him the middle finger, and he grinned, lifting his chin in greeting with a curse before giving Liam a quick tap on the shoulder and heading up the aisle.
He squeezed past a pair of students, carefully turning so his guitar wouldn’t hit anyone, then dropped into the seat his friends had saved. Within seconds, he was leaning across the desk, laughing at something one of them had said.
Liam shook his head with a small smile and walked down to Megan instead. She tucked her bag beneath her desk, clearing the way for him to sit beside her. Liam slipped his backpack off his shoulder and settled into the chair, his long legs making the space beneath the desk feel a little cramped. Megan smiled at him, then turned slightly toward the girl beside her, looking ready to introduce them.
"Liam, this is Diane. Diane, this is the Liam I was telling you about."
"Oh? You were talking about me?"
Liam smiled, intrigued, and looked at Diane. She had a softly rounded face that narrowed toward her chin, full pink lips, and bright eyes behind her glasses. Her smile showed a little of her teeth and looked surprisingly confident.
The fitted sweater followed her curvy figure, tucked neatly into a high-waisted brown plaid skirt, while the white collar and cuffs gave her a tidy appearance. She was what Liam would call cute, though the way she held his gaze made him hesitate over that description.
"I asked her where she got her MacBook, and she said you gave it to her."
Diane’s voice was surprisingly strong for such a feminine face, clear and firm enough to carry over the conversations around them. Liam blinked once at the contrast. She sounded like she could pick up a microphone and rally feminists from all over the world without anyone asking her to speak louder.
"I did... Yes. Hello, Diane."
Liam nodded and greeted her with a smile, then felt slightly weird when he realized how much effort it took to stop looking at her. He managed to turn his eyes toward Megan’s laptop, but his attention kept drifting back.
Diane pushed her glasses up with one finger, and he caught himself following the small movement. There was something else keeping his eyes drawn to her, and he wasn’t quite sure what it was.

Okay, as usual, too much information. Let’s narrow it down... She’s pretty with that much Charisma, her skill is nice as well, and she’s got loans to pay. That passive explains why I couldn’t stop looking at her... Nice rack... Fake rack?
Liam glanced at her huge breasts, then back at the modification listed on the panel. That confirmed it for him. Even Clara didn’t have breasts that big, and Diane’s fitted sweater made them difficult to overlook. He brought his eyes back to her face before the glance could turn into a stare, keeping the same polite smile while he dismissed the panel.
"Diane Nichols."
Diane offered her hand to Liam, reaching across Megan before realizing how awkward the angle was. Her arm hovered in front of Megan’s laptop, and Megan leaned back slightly to give them room, looking between the two with an amused smile. Diane shifted forward in her seat but kept her hand extended, determined to finish the introduction properly.
Liam leaned toward her and reached across, careful not to knock Megan’s MacBook with his elbow. He managed to take Diane’s hand and gave it a brief shake, smiling a little at the effort it had taken. When they finally settled back into their seats, Megan pulled her laptop closer and shook her head, still smiling.
"That was quite the introduction."
Megan finally couldn’t hold the comment back, delivering it slowly as she looked from Diane to Liam, clearly enjoying herself. Liam turned toward her with a reply already forming on his lips, but the professor walked into the room just then. Conversations around them began to quiet down, making him close his mouth and face the front instead.
Beside him, Megan let out a small giggle and lowered her eyes to her laptop, pretending to get ready for class. Liam gave her a sideways glance. Judging by the smile she was trying to hide, she had deliberately dragged out her words until he had no chance to answer. He shook his head slightly and reached for his notebook, letting her enjoy the little victory.
