Chapter 705: The Influence Of The Khan

  • Next Chapter

His achievement in this life could not be erased. He had already done more than any of his predecessor had ever did.

Thinking about this he felt somewhat relaxed and then he rides his horse back to the city. He enter the city and then come out again but this time, there are people that follows him

One of them holds the banner of the Khan.

Behind him is Kashoger fully armed. Weapon one each side of his waist, wearing a thick armour that in a glance people would know this is not a sightseeing tour.

Aeryon already knows where is his wife. She is no longer in her palace. Instead, she is in her own military tent not far away from the city

After the stunt she pulled of, Aeryon had imprisoned her for some time.

But it was not like she was formally imprisoned.

Aeryon did not want his men and his subordinate to think that he wanted to punish his own wife. In a way this is also because he felt guilty and this is why he never made imprisoning her as a formal punishment

Aeryon ride on his horse clad in grassland leather armour with the colour red and black.

Reddish tint is not easy to get but Aeryon has enough money and resources to afford it

He had a golden sheathed scimitar on his left waist. He did not brought out his usual blade instead he brought out his golden scimitar.

There is a story about this golden scimitar. But his wife would understand if she sees it.

Aeryon is now slightly tanned. The war do that to people

And then he arrives at the tent. Long before he even arrives at the tent, those people already know he was about to come there.

Ayera has her own scouts, has her own eagle and she has her own banner.

She is the Queen of this new kingdom but she rarely uses he power as the queen. It is not because she did not want to use it

But because everyone knows the circumstances of the marriage between him and Ayera

This is not the story of Genghis Khan and Borte.

This is the story of Nobunaga and Kicho

Even the circumstances are almost the same.

But there is also difference between them.

Aeryon pities Ayera.

Of course, if she wanted to do something that would harm the clan , the tribe and the land itself, Aeryon probably would not hesitate to kill his own wife.

But she has done her duty as the best she could.

And he himself is not that aversive to her. He doesn’t know whether this is his feeling or the original Aeryon feeling

And sometimes it is very hard to distinguish

Aeryon had all of these thought and then when he arrives in the outer circle of the tent perimeter, a dozen horsemen come to "greet" him

Aeryon look at these people. And then he look behind him

Behind him are fifty men.

Fully armed, with bows, arrows and blades and sword and spear and throwing axes and throwing knives.

And then he smiles and he look back at the dozen horsemen.

They are not any people Aeryon knows, not of his men, not of his army. He knew if these men were a part of his army

Those who of his army would not be this audacious in front of him

"Are you men of Utgard, men of Garron?" Aeryon ask as he raise his hand and everyone behind him calm down

A rugged old man drive his horse forward and then he looks at him

"greeting, Great Khan. We are those who stand beside our chief side. And now we stand behind our lady"

Aeryon just sighed.

Then he look at these people. He is scrutinizing them. Behind him, fifty horsemen silently arrayed themselves behind him. A dozen people fighting fifty is a foregone conclusion but these fifty people are the most elite guard of the Khan

if there is an attack, even if the Khan is not killed, if he is injured, how could they who eats the Khan food and drink his wine not be ashamed?

"Does your people have no manner?!"Aeryon shouted and he takes the whip on the side of the saddlebag on his horse

And then with one swift motion he whips that man. The whip wrapped around that person neck and then Aeryon pull the whip

THUD!

The man fall down the ground.

The dozen men were all startled and quickly they unsheathed their weapons and at the same time this happen, Aeryon fifty guard also did the same.

Some nocked tehri arrows , pointing the bow toward these dozen men

"Stop!!" the man on the ground shouted

Aeryon did not seem perturbed at all. He looks at this young man

"tell me your name"

"Altan"

Aeryon nodded

"This is Brolgadhr land. This land is under my rule. Those who are under my rule are grateful to me. Even the lowliest of the lowly knows the etiquette. They would dismount, knelt on one knee and they would have clasped their hand in a fist salute the moment they saw me"

"You are on my land; I give you respect and did not slight you. So, why do you slight me? Do you think I am easy to talk to? What gives you that impression?"

Aeryon look at him and his eyes is sharp and he simply said

"Kneel!"

Aeryon take another step forward and everyone is looking.

"Insolent!" Kashoger then shoot his arrows. The arrow strike the ground and everyone thought there is going to be a fight. But even though these dozen men shows a brave face, none of them make any moves

Even they are not that stupid. They know if they attack the Khan then the Khan would surely execute them all

Altan kneels and Aeryon harrumphed

"Out of my way!" Aeryon then ride his horse forward. And everywhere he rides no one no longer dares stop him. Everyone simply look at him with a complicated expression.

...

Ayera watches all of this happen from the hill she is standing on and she sighed

Beside her is Narakanatha, her guardian and now her teacher. Her eyes shines red for a second and then it turns to normal

Narakanatha is standing beside Ayera and his eyes is also looking at the Khan.

And he could not help but sigh inwardly.

What he sees is not something mortals could see

Fortune and luck gathered upon him; the entire Steppe seems to be blessing it

"Could the Steppe be united under him?" this is a question he is asking himself.

If the Steppe is unified, the luck of the entire Steppe would gather upon him and if he at that time attack the empires around them, all of which is lacking luck and fortune, then a great empire could be born

This is something only some beings like Narakanatha could see. But whether this would happen or not happen always depends on the human will

Narakanatha then look at Ayera. And she also has the fortune of the Steppe upon her. This is because the cause and effect between the husband and wife.

The position , the status, the connection, all of this affects cause and effect and karma between two people

Aeryon had created something and that something benefit the Steppe and as the person closest and share its power and responsibility she is also awarded the fortune and luck of the Steppe

If this was any other time, Narakanatha would be drooling at the merit and fortune of the world bestowed upon such a disciple.

Narakanatha never formalize the apprenticeship. So, even though he is teaching her, he is not her teacher. That minimizes the impact of the discipleships.

This is Mahakala seed and not his. And yes, if this was any other way, he would not have cared this much and would even steal Mahakala disciple

But this is the land of the great tribulation

Yindu has its own tribulation and the seed of that tribulation belong with Ashoka and on the Western Zhou, its tribulation is snakes trying to be dragon

In the Yan dynasty, the deer had run and the whole world is chasing it. Narakanatha had wanted to seclude himself and maybe go into a slumber and wake decades later when everything is settled

But in the end, he still had to pay his debt. And that is also cause and effect and maybe this is also related to his own personal tribulation

Ayera and Narakanatha look at the same place and look at the same direction but the things they think about could not be more far apart

"The Khan is really powerful" Ayera said with a hint of anger.

She is not mad that her retinue and her people could not stop the Khan. Could not stop her husband. She knew why none of her soldiers dare to raise their hand

The people of Utgard ae brave. If they are not brave , they could not have expanded their lands and did the things that they have done since Ayera marries the Khan.

They were always brave

They thrive even in adversity and they have endured all kinds of tribulations and hardship to reach where they are today

They are the people of the Steppe. They come from an illustrious line and even though they were forced into becoming a small tribe in the Southern Great Steppe, every people of the tribe knew their illustrious history in the Central Great Steppe. They were one of the great tribes in the Central Great Steppe

But today, they could not even dare to say anything and do anything when the Khan ask them to kneel

Because this is his land.

And because he is the Khan
