Watch Me Love Your Stepbrother: Rejected, Pregnant , And Claimed
Chapter 50 - 49 We’re already fucked
Chapter 50: Chapter 49 We’re already fucked
The party was finally over.
Thank God.
The children had gone home hours ago, leaving behind a battlefield of half-eaten cake, empty cups, ribbons, wrapping paper, and enough toys to open a damn store.
Anastelle had been exhausted.
She had eaten so much chocolate that I was almost certain I’d be hearing her run to the bathroom before breakfast.
I had warned her.
"That’s enough chocolate, baby."
"No, Mommy. Just one more."
She’d said that about six times.
And because Laziel had apparently become her favorite person on earth, she ignored me every single time.
Until he walked into the room.
"Anastelle. Bed."
She immediately put the chocolate down.
"Okay, Snackman."
I had stared at her.
Seriously? Little traitor.
I had carried that child for nine months. I had given birth to her. I had spent five years begging her to brush her teeth and stop putting random shit in her mouth.
Then this tattooed bastard says bed and suddenly she’s the most obedient child alive.
Unbelievable.
I had wanted to squeeze Laziel’s neck.
Just a little.
Nothing serious.
Maybe.
Now she was asleep upstairs, probably dreaming about ponies and princesses and all the other ridiculous things her new life had given her.
I stood alone on the balcony, watching the last of the staff clean up the garden.
The evening air was cool against my skin.
A few guards moved around the property while the maids gathered plates and decorations. The lights from the mansion spilled across the garden, making everything look almost peaceful.
Almost.
I rested my arms against the balcony railing.
Today had been beautiful.
For Anastelle, anyway.
She had smiled all day.
She had laughed.
She had gotten her pony.
She had eaten enough cake to kill a small horse.
And Guilia had come back.
Yet somehow, instead of feeling relieved, I couldn’t stop thinking about the phone hidden upstairs.
The phone Guilia had given me.
The phone that could help us disappear.
If we actually had the courage to do it.
I sighed.
Laziel wasn’t stupid.
He wasn’t some rich idiot who had money but no idea what was happening around him.
He noticed everything.
Every movement.
Every change.
Every fucking lie.
And that scared me more than anything.
I looked down at the garden again.
A maid picked up a tiny pink crown from the grass.
I smiled faintly.
Anastelle had been so happy.
Could I really take her away from this?
Could I take her back to struggling?
Back to counting money before buying food?
Back to one bedroom?
One teddy bear?
The thought hurt.
But staying with Laziel came with its own price.
And I didn’t know how much longer I could afford it.
Every time I heard a twig snap, my heart jumped into my throat, half-expecting security to drag me off because Laziel knew about the burner phone hidden in my room.
"Can’t sleep?"
I gasped, my heart leaping into my throat. I spun around so fast I nearly tripped over my own feet.
Laziel was standing in the doorway, casual as hell. He’d clearly just showered; his hair was damp, sticking to his forehead in dark, messy strands, and his shirt was gone. He was wearing nothing but dark lounge pants.
Jesus.
I quickly looked away.
Nope.
Absolutely not.
I wasn’t about to stand here admiring this bastard after spending the entire day being pissed off at him.
But my eyes betrayed me.
They moved back.
His chest was bare.
Ink covered his skin. And his lips looked annoyingly pink.
Why did he have to look like that?
"Careful, Mireya," he said, his voice dropping into that low, dangerous rumble that always made my knees feel like water. "Don’t want you falling off the balcony. That would be such a waste."
"I didn’t hear you coming," I snapped, trying to keep my voice steady. "What the hell are you doing here?"
He didn’t even flinch at my tone. He just walked closer, invading my space until I could smell his soap—that expensive, woodsy scent that made my blood pressure spike. "This is my mansion, sweetheart. I can be anywhere I want. Why aren’t you in bed?"
"How does that concern you?"
He was right in front of me now. He didn’t answer, just leaned in, his eyes tracking the pulse jumping in my neck. I put a hand on his chest to push him away, but I couldn’t.
"Tell me what you want, Laziel."
He tilted his head, his gaze sharpening. "You know, Mireya... I’m a simple man. I don’t ask for much. But I have a very specific allergy."
"W...what?"
"Betrayal," he whispered. "I hate it when I open my hands to let someone in, and they try to use that trust to crawl out the back door. I own everything in this house, everything in this life. And when something I own tries to leave? It’s not just an inconvenience. It’s an insult."
My breath hitched. Does he know?
"Why are you telling me this?"
"I’m reminding you."
"Of what?"
"That I don’t like people making decisions behind my back."
Laziel leaned closer, his voice almost a whisper.
"If something belongs under my protection, I don’t let it walk away just because it suddenly decides it wants freedom."
I stared at him.
Something about that sentence crawled under my skin.
"What are you talking about?"
His eyes searched mine.
"Nothing you need to worry about." He pulled back. "Go get ready. We’re going out."
"Where? At this hour?"
"Anastelle had her fun today. Now it’s our turn."
I rolled my eyes, desperate to hide the fact that my hands were shaking. "Fun? With you? I don’t think we have the same definition of fun, you arrogant prick."
"Ten minutes, Mireya. I’ll be waiting downstairs."
"Where are we going?"
"The club."
My head whipped up. The club? "Guilia’s club? Are we going to see Guilia?"
He let out a short, dry laugh—the kind that held no humor at all. "I own a lot of things, Mireya. I have plenty of clubs. We aren’t going to the one Guilia manages."
Then his next words made my stomach twist.
"You and Guilia seem to have had a lot to talk about today." He started walking away.
My brain was spinning. If he wasn’t going to Guilia’s club, where was he taking me? And why now? Was this a trap? Was this a test?
"Wait," I said, catching his arm. "Is this because of—"
"Because of what?" He turned.
He knew. Or he was playing with me. He was just fucking with me, seeing how long I could hold it together before I cracked.
"Don’t get cute," he said, his voice almost sweet. "Just be ready in ten minutes. I’d hate to have to come up there and dress you myself." He turned and walked away, leaving me standing there.
If this bastard knew what Guilia and I were planning...
We were already fucked.
Authors note💗💗💗please please readddddd
My loves, I just want to say something. ❤️
First of all, thank you.
When I told you guys I had been dealing with a lot physically and mentally and couldn’t update the way I wanted to, I genuinely expected some people to be upset.
Instead, you guys told me to take care of myself.
Some of you literally said, "Your health is more important than the story. We can wait."
I don’t think you understand how much that meant to me. 🥹❤️
But I also want you guys to understand something.
I genuinely love writing this story.
I’m not writing Mireya and Laziel just because I want to have another book on my profile. I’m writing because I want you guys to enjoy it. I want you to scream at your phones, hate Laziel one Chapter and love him the next, fight with Mireya, fall in love with Anastelle, curse Guilia 😂 and desperately wait for the next Chapter.
You guys are a huge part of why I keep going.
So if you really love this book and want to see it reach the top, I need your help. 🥹

I want this to feel like we’re building this crazy little world together.
And I have another idea...
Should we make TikToks for this book? 👀
Because imagine actually pushing Mireya and Laziel onto TikTok.
Edits.
Character introductions.
Quotes.
Laziel red flags. 🚩😭
Anastelle being spoiled.
Mireya’s POV.
Guilia’s betrayal.
The birthday.
And now... DON LAZIEL. 🌚
If you guys are interested, we could even create a little reader community/group where we can talk about the book, theories, characters, upcoming Chapters, TikTok ideas, EVERYTHING.
Because honestly?
I don’t want to write this book alone.
I want to see you guys help me take it somewhere.
