Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System

Chapter 383: True Face Of Abhi Dalal

  • Next Chapter

Just as some Survivors, still bewildered, saw Abhi using a firearm and thought they were saved, they were shocked to discover that the one whose head was pierced by a bullet was actually a survivor.

"Dare to try it, all of you."

"My bullets can’t kill zombies, but can’t they kill you?"

If he let these people run around, how could he deal with the Legendary-level without taking damage?

The lives of these people, compared to Abhi’s safety, were simply not worth mentioning.

"What are you gawking at? Pull out your guns!"

Abhi roared at his subordinates, watching the Survivors scatter like startled birds.

Who knew, it seemed these regular Official Shelter members couldn’t stand it anymore.

Although their regional Official Shelter wasn’t as proper as the Official Shelter headquarters, unable to truly aid and rescue ordinary Survivors, at the very least, they wouldn’t harm these innocent lives.

Now, seeing Abhi actually shoot at these people, the disgust on their faces could no longer be suppressed.

One of them stepped forward and said, "Captain Abhi, they just want to live. They haven’t done anything wrong, have they?"

This Official Shelter member merely spoke gently, without any tone of defiance.

However, in Abhi’s ears, it was a complete challenge to his authority.

"Oh, so you want to rebel, huh? You won’t even listen to me, your Deputy Director?"

"Then today I’ll teach you what it means to follow orders strictly!"

With that, Abhi bared his teeth and quickly rushed forward, throwing a punch at the subordinate who had just defied him.

"Crash!" Warm, crimson blood splattered everywhere. As expected, this Survivor couldn’t block Abhi’s punch.

Looking at their fallen comrade, the remaining Official Shelter members’ eyes turned red.

After a long internal struggle, under Abhi’s gaze, they finally raised their firearms.

The Official Shelter had brought a total of thirty people on this trip. While seemingly not many, they were all elites.

With firearms in hand, they quickly brought the scattered crowd under control.

Perhaps still possessing some conscience, while they used firearms to control the crowd, they didn’t actually shoot at them. Instead, they fired warning shots at their feet, herding them around the Legendary-level Zombie.

Abhi pondered for a moment, then led a group of people to the very front of the team.

After all, if he dealt with the Legendary-level Zombie alone, even if he succeeded, he would be at a disadvantage.

Here, they just needed to use their numbers to attract the zombie’s attention. Once they dealt with the one in front, this one wouldn’t be a problem either.

In his opinion, the fight at the front should be almost over by now, so he wouldn’t need to exert too much effort when he joined.

Abhi had a good plan, but when he arrived at the very front of the team, what he saw was another Legendary-level Zombie, equally baring its fangs and claws.

Meanwhile, Lilith’s Crimson Desire Shelter and Jade’s White Fox Shelter were watching from the sidelines, showing no intention of intervening.

"Damn it, those two old foxes."

He spat, realizing his scheme hadn’t worked. Abhi approached the two, feigning sincerity, and said, "Gentlemen, now isn’t the time to be slacking off. There’s another Legendary-level Zombie behind us. If we don’t act soon, once these Survivors are all dead, we’ll truly be in deep trouble."

"Let’s not try to trick each other. Let’s first work together to deal with these troubles. As for the distribution of supplies, how about we discuss that later?"

Jade naturally agreed wholeheartedly, "Haha, I was just thinking the same thing. I was waiting for you, Captain Abhi."

Lilith also nodded, indicating she felt the same way.

Despite his inner dissatisfaction, Abhi couldn’t say anything, only secretly blaming the Legendary-level Zombie for not understanding that it should deal with the two strongest individuals first.

At this point, the three of them, along with a group of people, charged into the crowd where the Legendary-level Zombie was located.

Vikram, watching from the side, showed a regretful expression upon seeing Abhi still alive and well.

He was about to quickly deal with the two Legendary-level Zombies and, while he was at it, finish off that beast, Abhi.

Just then, Vikram suddenly looked up at the ceiling, his eyes gradually showing seriousness.

"This resource point is truly exceptionally lively."

Lilith, Jade, and Abhi all had physiques above 90 points.

Indeed, with the three of them working together, they caused considerable trouble for the Legendary-level Zombie at the front of the team.

The main reason was the sheer number of cannon fodder that beast Abhi had lured over this time.

This Legendary-level Zombie didn’t possess the wide-area destructive attacks of the Legendary-level Zombie from the Public Security Bureau. It could only attack with the fish-gutting knife in its hand.

Additionally, its physique was only slightly taller than an average person, so its killing efficiency wasn’t as fast as imagined.

With the cannon fodder distracting its attention, the three of them were able to continuously launch successful sneak attacks from behind.

They used Epic-level weapons, and combined with their physique, it wasn’t difficult to injure the Legendary Zombie.

In just a short while, the Legendary-level Zombie, having been ambushed several times, finally reacted.

A dazzling silver flash streaked through the air. The three of them resisted together but were still repelled.

If it weren’t for their decent weapons, that one strike would have certainly dismembered all three of them.

"Roar—" Under the fierce counterattack, the zombie didn’t forget to let out a long howl towards the sky.

Everyone was tense. They were all too familiar with that sound; it meant reinforcements were coming again.

Sure enough, in the next second, a large, dark mass of zombies emerged from the corner of the retail area.

Vikram frowned. With the appearance of these zombies, the balance would be broken.

Vikram vigilantly glanced at two unfamiliar figures in the team, then swept his gaze to the upstairs area, considering whether to act rashly.

Of course, he wasn’t foolishly watching the show. This resource point was more dangerous than he had imagined, and he didn’t want someone else to reap the rewards, so he could only remain calm for now.

After all, he hadn’t yet figured out the strength of that Legendary-level being that had suddenly approached from upstairs.

That’s right, just as the battle was raging downstairs, Vikram also detected the aura of a Legendary-level creature upstairs.

Fortunately, the three at the front of the team were quite capable. In just this short time, the Legendary-level Zombie in front of them was already covered in wounds.

Jade seized the opportunity, pulling out a high-explosive grenade from his bag, scavenged from who-knows-which resource point.

Timing it perfectly, he threw it right into the Legendary Zombie’s perpetually open, gaping mouth.

"Boom!"

The defensive boost from physique primarily affected the exterior. Moreover, a high-explosive grenade was no longer a small-scale firearm like a bullet.

Even with a high physique, the thousands of degrees of high temperature and the impact of the high-explosive detonating inside its body, though the zombie wasn’t completely dead, it was already on its last breath.

The three quick-thinking individuals rushed forward to deliver the finishing blows, completely smashing the Legendary Zombie’s brain.

The Legendary Zombie died completely before it even had a chance to activate its special ability.

As a price, the ground was already covered in a large expanse of corpses. A glance revealed at least a hundred bodies lying in pools of blood.

This was even with Vikram occasionally helping to deal with some ordinary and Epic-level Zombies, which significantly reduced the casualties.

On the other side, Lilith, quick-witted, immediately collected the Legendary Zombie’s corpse as Vikram had instructed.

This action immediately drew the dissatisfaction of the other two.

"Director Lilith, what do you mean?"

"That’s right, without my grenade, do you think this zombie could have been dealt with?"

"Or, Director Lilith, do you also want to experience the power of this grenade?" Jade was never one to mince words, speaking in a threatening tone.

"Don’t be so anxious, both of you. I’m just holding onto it for now, to prevent some Survivors from taking advantage and making off with the corpse. Then we’d have nowhere to look for it."

"Anyway, our strengths are similar. It’s not like I can run away, right?"

While they were talking, their attention was focused on the Legendary Zombie’s corpse, completely unaware that the zombies at the back of the team had already dealt with the small fry.

A massive, sky-obscuring butcher knife descended from above...
