Wasteland Hideout: Upgrading from the Sewers

Chapter 603: Civilization Relic Participants, The Relic Squeezed Out

  • Next Chapter

This was a vast graveyard of civilizations.

Creatures from different races and different civilizations were all buried here, forming a forbidden sea of death that isolated the living.

The air was thick with an inseparable aura of death. Due to the influence of the deathly aura, the spiritual energy here had become extremely aggressive and corrosive.

These deathly auras shrouded the sky, coalescing into a slow-turning, black, massive millstone.

An oppressive, deathly silence was the main tone of this world.

On the ground, tombstones stood silently in rows, along with the enormous skeletal remains of creatures lying across the graveyard. Their spines had turned into highways, their ribs into flagpoles.

They silently narrated their indignation and unwillingness.

Death Knights riding skeletal warhorses patrolled the graveyard tirelessly, while translucent ghostly creatures weaved through every tombstone, seemingly relaying some kind of information.

This was a world of the dead where no living being should tread.

In the central area of the graveyard.

Green phosphorescent flames illuminated a grand-scale cemetery.

Deep within the underground building area, in the innermost tomb chamber.

Artus, a Silver-tier executive of ‘Snake Kiss,’ stared at the bronze mirror before him, letting out a sinister laugh.

“Rest assured, Duke Yegu. Yu Yuan Shelter has now entered a state of civilization war. My people have already made their move. We’ll take it down soon. There will be absolutely no problems this time.”

On the other side of the mirror, Duke Yegu listened to Artus’s confident words and nodded lightly.

Earlier, Moon Shadow’s Breath had also reported to him that Yu Yuan Shelter had entered a state of civilization war.

But it wasn’t her people.

It seemed Artus had indeed already made his move.

“Alright. I trust you.”

When the figure in the mirror disappeared.

Artus looked at the [Civilization Relic Invitation Letter-1] in his hand, revealing an excited smile.

“I didn’t expect this! The organization had intel before that the world relic of the great being ‘Stern Father’ had emerged, likely appearing in the recently discovered civilization relic. I couldn’t find any leads on invitation letters secretly before, but I didn’t expect Yegu to have one. Now it’s finally in my hands!”

Looking at the virtual light screen, which showed only the last ten minutes before the civilization relic opened.

Artus didn’t need much preparation.

The black staff in his hand lightly tapped the ground.

In the next moment, a powerful suction force erupted from where the staff touched the ground.

Immediately after, all the tombstones in the outer graveyard gave birth to humanoid black shadows, which flew toward the tomb chamber with a howling sound.

These black shadows entered the tomb chamber like swallows returning to their nest, burrowing into Artus’s black staff.

When it was all over.

The color of the black spiral storm cloud, originally formed from the deathly aura that shrouded the graveyard’s sky.

Seemed to have faded a bit.

When everything was finished, the civilization relic had also reached its opening moment.

With a confident smile, Artus disappeared from the tomb chamber.

A mechanical alloy armored train was climbing up a nearly 90° vertical cliff, using mechanical centipede wheels.

On the train’s roof, a dozen six-barreled machine guns were frantically spitting out blue light, each bullet firing off.

The swarm of dark, oppressive birds in the sky exploded, and all the strange birds were shot down.

When the sky fell silent.

This mechanical alloy armored train finally climbed onto the cliff and came to a stop.

Not far away, there was a massive energy mine with staggering reserves.

Clang, clang, clang—

As the bell rang.

The train’s carriages opened, and hundreds of fully armed soldiers/enforcers jumped out, shouting.

“All slaves, get off the train! Time to work! Hurry up!”

Urged on by the armed soldiers/enforcers, ragged slave miners carrying pickaxes jumped out of the carriages and walked toward the energy mine.

Inside the trainmaster’s cabin, a bulky middle-aged man pushed away the woman in his arms.

“Get out!”

After the woman left, the man activated the train’s automatic defense mechanism and looked at the virtual light screen.

“Civilization relic… I’ve heard people talk about the benefits in civilization relics for a long time. This time, I’m going to see for myself.”

Quickly putting on all the equipment he might need, the man pulled out the [Civilization Relic Invitation Letter-3] he had accidentally obtained not long ago.

Choosing to activate it, the next moment, he disappeared from the trainmaster’s cabin.

In the center of an endless primeval forest, there was a mountain shaped like a howling wolf.

This mountain was also called ‘Wolf Mountain.’

On Wolf Mountain sat a man, naked from the waist up, his hair flowing behind him like a savage.

An ancient-looking wolf fang pendant hung from his chest.

He was currently sitting cross-legged, hands resting on his abdomen.

Connecting with heaven and earth.

Feeling the breath of nature, feeling the traces time had left on the land and mountains.

And also feeling the wild power within his own bloodline.

“Awooo!”

The wolf howl rang out.

The man suddenly opened his eyes, a sharp light shooting out, revealing his emerald-green pupils.

He looked at the countdown on the virtual light screen, a smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

Without any visible movement, a [Civilization Relic Invitation Letter-4] appeared before him.

“Mortarian, I hope this time I can get some valuable clues from your relic.”

With the activation of the invitation letter, the man leaped down from Wolf Mountain. While still in the air, a gray cloak made from some unknown beast’s fur appeared behind him.

Then, on his legs, arms, and torso, matching equipment appeared one by one.

And just as he was about to hit the ground, with a twist in space, he vanished.

Fusion Core Star.

This was a planet on the verge of destruction.

The planet’s core was already in a molten state. Geological activity here was extremely intense, and the entire planet was filled with toxic sulfur gases.

High temperatures, strange crystals, bottomless chasms, and crustal movements and volcanoes that could happen at any moment, all indicated.

This planet was about to die.

But for such a planet, where life was nearly extinct and dangers were everywhere, in the eyes of certain beings, it was a rare treasure trove.

“Seriously, are the Molten Demons’ brains plastered with crap? I was right in the middle of absorbing the destruction energy born from this planet’s collapse, and they want me to go explore some damn civilization relic right now.”

“They’re brain-dead.”

“Damn it, I knew I shouldn’t have been greedy and joined this ‘Fallen Abyss’!”

On the scorched earth, a voice full of resentment rang out.

This person was completely wrapped in black bandages, resembling a moldy mummy.

But as he complained, sparks occasionally shot out of his mouth.

Despite his complaints, he still pulled out an invitation letter and chose to activate it.

“What a huge loss!”

And his invitation letter sequence was [5].

At the same time.

An elder from the Blood Clan’s Old Guard Faction looked at the [Civilization Relic Invitation Letter-8] in his hand with a light laugh.

He downed the Epic-tier Blood Brew rewarded by the Duke in one gulp.

Then chose to activate it.

“Let me see what’s so special about this civilization relic. I hope I’ll run into something interesting.”

At that moment, as all the holders of the Civilization Relic Invitation Letters had finished activating them.

A gap appeared in the void of the Civilization Ladder, detached from the star tracks of Rock, Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

The spatial ripples of the Spiritual Dimension then rippled outward.

A dilapidated, flesh-and-blood-like relic of a civilization was squeezed out of the Spiritual Dimension.

Six beams of light from the Bronze and Silver-tier star tracks shot over, drilling into this civilization relic.
