Chapter 903: The Realm of Ice Elves (2)
Orion stayed at the center, directing the flow of battle. He activated Blood Manipulation, summoning crimson tendrils that lashed out like whips, pulling elves off balance and exposing them to his team’s attacks. When an elf charged at him, he countered with a brutal strike of his sword, the sheer force splitting the icy weapon in two. His Battlefield Mastery allowed him to anticipate the elves’ tactics, shouting warnings and instructions to his team. "Bella, right flank! Cy, push forward with me!"
Bella, using her Web of the Wony’s Burning Heart, unleashed a fiery net that trapped several elves, the heat melting their icy weapons. She followed up with a massive Fireball, the explosion scattering shards of ice and snow.
The ice elves were relentless. For every one they struck down, another seemed to emerge from the mist. They attacked in coordinated waves, their movements sharp and precise.
"Luna! Findir! I need disruption on the left!" Orion shouted as three elves flanked their position. Luna cast Mind Fog, enveloping the area in a haze that dulled the elves’ senses, while Findir struck swiftly from the shadows, taking advantage of their confusion to land precise, crippling strikes.
Cy roared as an ice elf slammed into his shield with a frost-coated hammer, the impact sending a shockwave through the air. Gritting his teeth, he countered with a surge of strength, driving his spear through the elf’s armor. A second elf leapt at him, but Bella’s Summon: Lesser Fire Spirits intercepted it, the fiery creatures engulfing the attacker in flames.
Aisa moved like a wraith, using Presence Deletion to become nearly invisible. She darted between elves, her daggers flashing as she incapacitated foes with precision strikes. "Orion, the right side is clear—for now!"
Orion nodded, surveying the chaotic battlefield. He activated Flesh Manipulation, summoning sinewy constructs that lashed out at the elves, forcing them to retreat momentarily. "Regroup near Bella! We can’t hold them off forever without finding their leader!"
The group pressed together, their synergy keeping them alive as the ice elves continued their unrelenting assault. The cold and exhaustion began to creep in, but they held firm, their resolve unshaken despite the overwhelming odds. The fight was far from over, and the icy mist swirled with danger yet to be revealed.
The battle raged on as the six members of the party fought with ferocity against the ice elves. The freezing air was thick with the sounds of clashing weapons, the crackling of magic, and the harsh breaths of those struggling against the onslaught. The ice elves were relentless, their attacks swift and brutal, their weapons honed to perfection. But the party was equally formidable, their every move calculated and precise, relying on their individual strengths and teamwork to survive.
Orion, standing at the heart of the battle, commanded the field with unshakable focus. His Blood Manipulation extended outward in tendrils of crimson, striking at any elf that came too close. One ice elf lunged at him with a spear, but with a flick of his wrist, Orion sent a tendril of blood whirling through the air, wrapping around the spear and pulling it from the elf’s grasp. The elf staggered forward, off-balance, and Orion immediately struck with his sword, the blade flashing in the dim light as he cut through the elf’s frozen armor with a single slash.
Another elf tried to flank him, but Orion anticipated the move, his Battlefield Mastery allowing him to sidestep the attack with ease. As the elf swung its icy sword at his side, Orion grabbed the elf’s wrist with one hand, using the elf’s own momentum to twist its arm painfully behind its back. He then drove his sword into the elf’s side, the force of the blow pushing the ice elf to the ground.
Findir, light as air, moved through the battlefield like a shadow. His Wind Manipulation allowed him to glide around the fight, appearing and disappearing in flashes of speed. As two ice elves tried to pin him down, he activated Silent Flight and took to the air, his daggers coated in the essence of the void. One elf reached for him, but Findir’s Haste made him faster than the elf could react. He dropped from above, his daggers slicing through the air in a blur as he attacked from above, the blades finding their marks with terrifying accuracy. The elf staggered back, clutching its side where Findir’s dagger had torn through its armor.
Another elf tried to strike him, but Findir vanished into the shadows, his Abyssal Assassination Presence masking his movements. He reappeared behind the elf, his dagger coated in the dark energy of the void. With a swift motion, he plunged the blade into the elf’s back, the elf’s body immediately going rigid before collapsing to the ground. Findir’s body spun, his Eagle Eye allowing him to track the movements of every elf within the vicinity, and his Wind Dagger flew through the air, catching an attacking elf square in the chest.
Cy was a wall of strength, his Abyssal Shield held high as he charged forward into the fray. An elf rushed him, spear raised to strike, but Cy met the attack with a brutal Wave of Darkness, the force of his strike sending a shockwave through the air. The ice elf was thrown off balance, its footing giving way as it stumbled backward.
Cy wasted no time. He pressed forward with his Spear Coating, the weapon now crackling with dark energy. He swung it in an arc, the spearhead catching an elf in the chest, sending shards of ice flying. The elf was thrown to the ground, but Cy wasn’t finished. A second elf lunged at him, but Cy’s Abyssal Shield absorbed the blow, the frozen spearhead shattering on contact. With a roar, Cy pushed the shield forward, slamming it into the elf’s face and sending it sprawling.
Another elf tried to land a blow with a frozen axe, but Cy parried the attack, using his spear to catch the weapon and twist it away. With a powerful kick, Cy sent the elf flying backward, into the cold stone wall of the city.
Bella stood near the back, using her Flame Shield to protect herself from the constant barrage of icy attacks. She waved her staff, summoning a small fire spirit to her side, and it darted forward, breathing flame in the faces of the approaching ice elves. The elves screamed, their bodies melting under the intense heat for just a moment before the frost reformed, but it bought Bella enough time to prepare her next spell.
With a fierce cry, Bella unleashed a Fireball, sending it arcing through the air toward a group of ice elves. The ball of fire exploded on impact, sending a burst of heat that turned the surrounding snow into steam. The explosion sent the elves flying backward, their forms singeing as the flames licked at their bodies. Bella didn’t stop there; she summoned another fireball, this one aimed at an elf charging toward Aisa. The fireball slammed into the elf’s chest, sending it tumbling to the ground.
But the ice elves retaliated swiftly, their icy weapons cutting through the air as they attempted to break through her defenses. Bella raised her Flame Shield just in time to absorb the blows, but the force of the strike caused her to stagger. With a grimace, she spun on her heel, casting Web of the Wony’s Burning Heart, sending a torrent of fiery webs to ensnare her attackers. The elves struggled in the fiery trap, but it only delayed them momentarily.
Aisa moved through the battlefield with ethereal grace, her Ghost Step allowing her to phase through the air and land silent strikes against her enemies. One elf lunged at her with a glaive, but she Ghost Stepped behind him, her dagger flashing out to strike. She slashed across his back, her movements so swift that the elf barely had time to react before she was already moving again.
Another elf tried to grab her, but she vanished in a cloud of mist, reappearing behind him to land a clean blow to his neck with her silent blade. The elf collapsed silently, his life extinguished before he even had a chance to scream.
Aisa’s movements were like liquid, weaving in and out of the fight, a constant blur of steel and shadows. She appeared behind a group of elves, her daggers flashing as she cut through their defenses. One elf tried to strike her with an icy sword, but she bent backward, her body folding in a way that shouldn’t have been possible. As the sword passed harmlessly through the space she had just occupied, she reappeared in front of the elf, her dagger plunging into its chest.
Luna, ever the illusionist, wove a web of confusion in the heat of the battle. She cast Mind Fog over a group of approaching elves, causing their movements to slow and their vision to blur. In the confusion, Luna summoned Mirror Image, creating duplicates of herself that spread out in different directions. The ice elves, unable to discern which Luna was the real one, began attacking the illusions with reckless abandon.
Luna took advantage of the chaos, using Nightmare Projection to send horrifying illusions into the minds of her attackers. Their expressions twisted in fear as they were beset by nightmarish visions, their weapons falling from their hands as they struggled to break free from the mental assault. Luna’s real form appeared just behind one of the elves, her Illusory Magic disorienting the elf long enough for her to deliver a precise blow to its throat.
The ice elves, furious at their losses, began to regroup, calling upon their own magic to bolster their ranks. The battle grew fiercer with every passing moment, as the elves’ icy weapons and spells clashed against the party’s magic and weapons. Despite the overwhelming odds, Orion’s group continued to press forward, each member working in perfect harmony, countering, dodging, and retaliating with brutal efficiency.
But the fight was far from over. With every strike, the tension between life and death grew ever sharper. Would they be able to hold their ground, or would the ice elves break their defenses? The cold winds howled through the canyon, the battle’s outcome still uncertain as the group fought on.
