Chapter 1201: Section 1202 Eyes Converge
Countless gazes were cast towards this place!
Although they could not yet see clearly the internal conditions of this sealed continent, they recognized the magnificent tree shadow outside the continent, radiating green light.
The immense True Spirit Force!
What did this indicate?
It was very likely that a Demon God’s True Spirit had fallen on this continent.
After reaching this conclusion, countless gazes became fervent. Such pure True Spirit Force was something they could directly seize for themselves!
However, even with covetous thoughts in their hearts, no one dared to approach the tree shadow lightly at this moment.
Even a Demon God’s True Spirit had fallen; no one knew what had happened on the sealed continent or what dangers were hidden within it…
Within the dark and quiet Land of Repose.
Baltica, who was engrossed in the illusions of the Monument of the Strange Loop, suddenly raised her head. Her gaze seemed to pierce through the boundless darkness, reaching a somewhat unfamiliar, lost continent.
When she saw the enormous tree shadow that blotted out the sky, she was stunned.
She recognized the reality of the tree shadow! Although covetousness flickered within, it was outweighed by sheer shock.
In her memories, she had witnessed the days of old when not just the True Spirit of a Demon God but real Demon Gods would fall from time to time. But that was during the chaotic era when gods coexisted, and there were high-level Wizards as foreign enemies. The fall of a Demon God was not a big deal then.
However, thousands of years later, this was the first time a Demon God’s True Spirit had plummeted in the present day!
This realization created a sense of unease in Baltica’s heart.
An unfelt breeze stirred the weatherboard of the tavern door, making it clatter.
It also caused the candle on the bar to flicker.
The Tomb Knight, sitting outside the bar on a round-footed stool, held a cup filled with crimson liquid, and the ghostly fire in his eye sockets flickered with confusion, “Eh, is it getting windy?”
Baltica raised her head and then lowered her brows, her voice calm and flat, revealing no emotional fluctuations as she said:
“Yes, the wind has risen.”
That wind had blown from the sealed continent, and where it would move to next, Baltica was also uncertain.
She took a deep draw from her long-stemmed pipe, and the smoky haze from her exhale gradually veiled her eyes.
Because of this unprovoked wind, in the library of the ruthless scholar, certain emotions were also brewing gradually.
Sitting at the desk, the ruthless scholar had been writing with a feather pen, but now his hand trembled uncontrollably, filled with unease and an indescribable sense of panic.
He had not even noticed that the Blood Ink dripping from the feather pen had already stained the parchment on the table into a pool of blood red.
Compared to the others, the ruthless scholar might not have known the specific details before the manifestation of the tree shadow, but he had a premonition of what might have occurred. Especially since Lord of the Flameless’s sudden rage had given him a premonition.
But at that moment, the ruthless scholar did not realize the outcome would be so severe.
He merely thought that perhaps Lord of the Flameless might lose to that “entity.”
What he hadn’t anticipated was that Lord of the Flameless would lose so thoroughly, and that within the blink of an eye, his Demon God’s True Spirit would fall.
The ruthless scholar contemplated that even for entities like the Unparalleled Great Demon God, such as the Monarch of the Abyss, setting their minds on opposing Lord of the Flameless would result in a protracted tug-of-war.
Yet now, in less than half a day, the True Spirit of Lord of the Flameless had fallen.
One must know, that entity hadn’t even descended in true form yet.
At the thought, the ruthlessness scholar’s disquiet grew, as he had personally handed the descended object to that human – that human named Angel was the root of this tragedy!
If that entity were to trace its way here following the object… the ruthless scholar’s heartbeat suddenly began to pound like a drum.
“Your emotional feedback is very interesting,” a deep and tingling voice resonated in the ears of the ruthless scholar.
“You haven’t left yet?” After a while, the ruthless scholar lifted his head to look into the Void. He was well aware that the one speaking to him was still Ominous Evil Play.
“I merely felt curious and came back,” the voice of Ominous Evil Play was always enchanting, but now it had suddenly turned cautious, “You had just asked me for the coordinates of that place, and now a True Spirit has fallen there. I am very curious about what happened.”
“Whose fallen True Spirit is it? Surely it’s not yours.”
“What do you think?” the ruthless scholar scoffed coldly, a vast Ghostly Shadow appearing behind him. With the emergence of the Ghostly Shadow, the entire world of the Void began to distort.
Ominous Evil Play: “You know I was just making a small joke. Dispel your True Spirit; otherwise, the energy fluctuations will prevent my message from reaching you on time.”
“It would be better if it didn’t reach,” the ruthless scholar said. Yet, he still dispelled the Ghostly Shadow behind him.
“You haven’t answered my question yet. Your previous inquiry about the coordinates and your facial feedback – all of it is telling me you know the inside story.”
The ruthless scholar lowered his eyebrows, shielding the wavering emotions in his eyes as he calmly stated, “Didn’t you want the answer before? Now, without needing the Mirror of Desires, the answer has already revealed itself.”
The air then fell into a deathly silence.
After a long while, the ruthless scholar spoke with an incredulous and horrified tone, “You mean, the fallen True Spirit comes from Lord of the Flameless?”
“All I know is that not long ago, the True Spirit of Lord of the Flameless descended upon that continent.”
As the voice faded, the answer had already revealed itself.
“With the True Spirit of the Lord of the Flameless fallen… chaos will ensue once more…” After leaving these words, the voice that lurked within the library gradually faded away.
Only after the Ominous Evil Play had departed did the Cruel Scholar lift his eyes, which seemed to still reflect the ostentatious shadows of the trees.
It was as if the shadow of the tree not only swayed in the Void but also crossed the endless expanse of time and space to reach the unease in His eyes and finally took root in His heart.
Apart from the Land of Repose and the library of the Cruel Scholar, all other places within the Abyss registered similar reactions.
Even outside the ruins of Lassudral in the Void, there were gazes now directed towards the shadow of the tree.
Lassudral had been destroyed, but the Void was far from lonely.
Demons from outside the “Birdcage” swarmed in. Unaware of what had transpired within the “Birdcage,” they were driven by interest to viciously attack the surviving humans.
In the midst of the chaos, the Demon Lord Galal turned the surrounding Void into a forbidden zone, preventing the humans from locating a way out and forcing them to fight these demons.
Not far from Galal, stood the newly risen Monarch of Fire—Night.
“Swearing loyalty to the great Lord of the Flameless will be the best decision you ever made,” Galal lowered its head to look at Night, who was not even half its waist in height.
“I have never said I would swear loyalty to anyone,” Night replied coldly.
The smile at the corner of Galal’s mouth reached all the way to its eyes, looking both thrilling and wicked, “It’s not up to you to decide whom to pledge loyalty to. Don’t forget to seek the Lord of the Flameless in the Abyssal Depth once you perfect your Domain.”
A flicker of darkness passed through Night’s eyes, but he did not rebuke further.
When the Lord of the Flameless departed, it had personally declared that Night should seek Him out. Even though deep down Night did not wish to go and had even thought about leaving the Abyss to avoid the Lord of the Flameless, he could not outwardly admit it.
To Galal, Night’s behavior appeared to be an acceptance, and it did not say more, instead turning its attention to the humans trapped in the Void.
Before the Lord of the Flameless left, He had asked Galal to have some fun with these humans.
To “play” meant they could not be broken too quickly.
When the Lord of the Flameless returned, He would face the group of humans Galal would solve altogether, which would also serve as revenge on behalf of Aoluxiya.
Although Galal knew that Aoluxiya might be the target of the Lord of the Flameless this time, it did not mean the Lord of the Flameless despised Aoluxiya. After all, Aoluxiya was His Bloodline continuation. The Lord of the Flameless did not hate, and even appreciated some of Aoluxiya’s actions. Otherwise, with the Lord of the Flameless’s view of humans as ants, why would He specifically arrange for Galal to deal with these humans if not because their previous actions had offended Aoluxiya.
While Galal was watching the humans, suddenly a familiar aura wafted from the far reaches of the Void.
The aura was faint, but Galal was very familiar with it because it belonged to the Lord of the Flameless.
Galal thought the Lord of the Flameless had returned, but when it looked up towards the source of the aura, it suddenly froze.
In its eyes were first confusion, but slowly they turned into shock, fright, and disbelief.
Galal stood there stupefied, staring off into the distance, even forgetting to maintain the force that sealed the Void.
Humans led by Monty seized the moment thinking, “Opportunity!”
They immediately released the previously anchored coordinates, and in an instant, all the humans vanished.
After the humans had left Lassudral, Monty grimly stated, “Head back to Sky Island at once!”
He might not have known why Galal had suddenly become dazed, but to avoid the possibility of being pursued by Galal, he had to move the humans immediately.
What Monty didn’t know was that after their departure, Galal had no intention of chasing them at all.
Because by then, it was completely dumbfounded.
Having followed the Lord of the Flameless for so many years, how could it not recognize the True Spirit of the Lord of the Flameless? The colossal shadow of the tree beyond the mainland, the energy it exuded, was definitely the True Spirit Force of the Lord of the Flameless!
Moreover, by the looks of the tree’s shadow, the True Spirit Force was slowly being poured out.
What this implied, Galal knew all too well.
The True Spirit of the Lord of the Flameless… had fallen!
Night, too, found it strange that Galal had suddenly let those humans escape, so he followed its gaze.
Upon looking, Night was stunned too.
It took a while before Night turned its head to look at Galal and quietly asked, “Is that the True Spirit of the Lord of the Flameless?”
Galal did not respond, but its unsightly expression spoke volumes.
A faint smile suddenly curved Night’s lips.
Previously, it had been
