Chapter 1401: Chapter 596: Birth of the Heir_3
"Who says a man can’t stay here? That’s superstition!" Laine shouted angrily.
"What superstition? The Subspace power in you is too strong!" The Lake Fairy pinched Laine’s face: "The child’s power is inherited from you, and the Subspace power in you both is resonating! You can’t stay here; it will cause trouble for Surya. Quick, get out of here!"
Laine immediately backed down and was forced out of the delivery room. Before he left, Surya earnestly called out to Laine: "Don’t worry, my husband, I will surely give you the best child!"
Despite beads of sweat on her forehead and a slightly pale face, the knight did not seem too pained. Her high physical endurance meant even her cries of pain were few, and her composed demeanor calmed Laine significantly. He was pushed out by Lake God Witch Mogiana, who urged him: "Laine, you should leave for now."
"Alright... alright then." Laine could only walk outside, feeling quite anxious, and eventually left the tower.
Outside the tower, Fugen and Angerong sat side by side, each holding a chilled watermelon and eating big bites while casually chatting about this and that. As for Francois, he seemed a bit worried but was equally helpless, so he indulged in a watermelon too. The three of them chatted about recent events. Fugen had brought a remarkable amount of wealth from Lustria, and his elegant demeanor and handsome appearance easily made a good impression. Francois thought he must be Laine’s brother, while Angerong certainly was not.
"Calm down, Laine." Fugen couldn’t help but smile seeing Laine’s expression: "Don’t forget, Father blessed Surya, there won’t be any problem. Do you have no faith in Father at all?"
"But..." Laine still wore an awkward expression because it is inevitable as a new father.
"May I ask?" Francois, knowing there’s no use in worrying, being an experienced father-in-law, initiates a chat with Fugen: "Who is your father? Could we meet him someday?"
This is a very normal request, given they are family-in-law, but Francois had not met Laine’s father even once, which was strange.
"Surya has met our father." Fugen smiled: "Father is... very busy, I came representing him this time. As for meeting him, you will have the chance, but not now. I’ve said all I can."
Francois, being a Holy Sanctuary Holy Grail Knight, can live another two to three hundred years without issue, truly has a lot of time. Hearing what Fugen said, Francois had to swallow his confusion: "Is that so? I look forward to it."
The three chatted on and off, enjoying the chilled watermelon amidst an atmosphere of happiness. Only Laine paced around, unable to get into the conversation, nor did he wish to sit down.
Soon, Dark Elf Maid Ollica, and Teresa and Veronica, who were in seclusion, arrived. Seeing Laine like this, they couldn’t help but want to laugh but felt a twinge of envy. Ollica offered a cup of ice-cold beer, which Laine took and downed in one go, then continued his frantic pacing.
In fact, he did not wait long.
As the sun gradually reached the highest point in the sky, a loud cry pierced the heavens, and a rainbow arched across the sky, with a light blue beam illuminating the entire sky.
"Congratulations, His Grace the Duke! Congratulations, His Grace the Duke! The child is born! Naturally delivered, it’s a boy!"
"Bor... Born?!" Laine muttered dazedly to himself: "Really born, my and Surya’s child."
"Great! Reward! Reward! Big rewards for everyone!"
"That’s wonderful!"
Soon, the Lake Fairy emerged from the delivery room with the baby. The Goddess obviously adored the child, refusing to let go: "Laine, come and see your child!"
"Oh, oh, oh!" Laine was already a bit off rhythm. He came to stand before the Lake Fairy, lowering his head to look at his child.
Though still wrinkled, you could already make out Laine and Surya’s facial features in the baby; the child looked more like the mother.
"Let me see! Let me see!" Angerong was also very excited: "What does my nephew look like?"
"Oh! Truly a beautiful child!" The King of Cutting was clearly fond of his nephew too. He leaned closer to get a better look.
Without warning, when Angerong’s face approached, the infant suddenly opened his eyes and cried out loudly, struggling and prying open a small gap in the swaddle.
Next, a water arrow shot at Angerong’s face, carrying a faint fishy smell.
"???!!!"
