Chapter 591: Chapter 591: Long Ao War God

The battle between Long Ao and Yang Jian continued to escalate.

Yang Jian had originally thought that by using his Divine Soul Residual Thought, he could easily defeat his opponent. But what happened instead?

Yang Jian was frustrated beyond belief. He was a mighty Reincarnation Martial Artist who had reached the Saint Realm, and yet now, he couldn’t even handle a mere Semi-Saint.

’Where is my dignity?’

At this thought, Yang Jian’s attacks became even more frenzied. Gradually, Long Ao began to buckle under the pressure.

But with pressure comes motivation.

Long Ao had absorbed a great deal of Soul Power earlier, but he hadn’t yet fused with it. Now, under the constant pressure, the Fusion with his soul accelerated, and his cultivation Realm even began to loosen.

CRACK.

A look of delight washed over Long Ao’s face. After being stuck at the Basic Level Semi-Saint for a long time, he had instantly broken through to High Level Semi-Saint.

A breakthrough in the middle of battle.

Sensing that something was off with Long Ao’s aura, everyone was shocked when they realized he had actually broken through in the middle of the battle. They discovered that not only had Long Ao not been obliterated by Yang Jian, but he had even advanced two Tiers.

What did that even mean?

Long Ao knew perfectly well that although this battle was fraught with peril, it was also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him.

’Since my Cultivation was able to break through two consecutive Tiers, it’s not impossible that I could break through again.’

The thought had barely formed in Long Ao’s mind when his aura surged again. He instantly broke through from High Level Semi-Saint to Peak Semi-Saint, only a single step away from officially becoming a Saint.

Peak Semi-Saint.

Yang Jian, who was in the midst of frantically attacking Long Ao, suddenly sensed his opponent’s successive breakthroughs, and his expression changed slightly.

Yang Jian began to grow anxious, drawing upon more and more of his Divine Soul Residual Thought. Because of this, even though Long Ao’s Realm had advanced, he was still unable to withstand Yang Jian’s fierce attacks.

This was the greatest gap between a Semi-Saint and a Saint.

"Master, use the Chaos Stele."

’The Chaos Stele?’

Hearing Long Fu’s reminder, Long Ao felt deeply troubled. He wanted to use the Chaos Stele too, but he thought, ’Will it even work?’

The Chaos Stele was the most powerful Divine Artifact in all of Heaven and Earth.

But Long Ao was no fool. ’Since Long Fu said so, it must mean I’m now able to wield the power of the Chaos Stele.’

As he tried to sense the Chaos Stele, Long Ao suddenly felt a connection to it as if it were part of his own flesh and blood. He was very curious; he had been unable to perceive the Chaos Stele before, so why was he having this feeling now?

’What in the world happened?’

Though shocked, Long Ao was also filled with pleasant surprise. He tried to communicate with the Chaos Stele, and in the next second, a rectangular block of stone appeared in his hand. At a glance, it looked just like a brick—not at all like the so-called Chaos Stele.

A brick?

Everyone stared, dumbfounded, at the brick that had suddenly appeared in Long Ao’s hand. Was he planning to fight his enemy with a brick?

Yang Jian also seemed a bit surprised to see the brick in Long Ao’s hand. He laughed and said, "Long Ao, did you get your brains scrambled?"

Long Ao wasted no time with words. He was eager to see the power of the Chaos Stele. He gripped it and swung it forward in a vicious smash, but he couldn’t sense the slightest aura coming from it. ’What’s going on?’

Long Ao didn’t believe it. Long Fu wouldn’t tell him to use the Chaos Stele for no reason. But could a Chaos Stele with no discernible power help him smash a Saint to death?

But just at that moment, Long Ao suddenly felt that the Chaos Stele in his hand had become a tiny bit heavier. He didn’t think much of it.

Yang Jian paid no mind to Long Ao, nor the brick in his hand. He threw out both fists, intending to obliterate Long Ao with sheer force.

But in that instant, Yang Jian’s expression changed drastically. The brick in Long Ao’s hand seemed to possess an immense gravity. CRACK! The sound of shattering bones came from both his left and right arms.

It turned out that though the Chaos Stele had shrunk, its original weight was still there, weighing millions of catties at the very least. Long Ao had been acknowledged by the Chaos Stele and was slowly beginning the Fusion process, so of course, he felt none of its weight. For others, however, the situation was completely different.

A weight of millions of catties—not even a Saint could withstand it.

A single blow from the brick had nearly killed Yang Jian. Forget the others, even Long Ao himself was a bit stunned. The Chaos Stele seemed far too heaven-defying. Inwardly, however, Long Ao was ecstatic.

He had never imagined the Chaos Stele’s force would be so overbearing. A single smash had nearly killed Yang Jian. Although Yang Jian’s carelessness had played a part, Long Ao knew that the Chaos Stele was truly terrifying.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Long Ao wielded the brick and smashed it viciously toward Yang Jian.

Having learned from the painful precedent, Yang Jian no longer dared to meet the attacks head-on. As he continuously dodged, he grew extremely frustrated.

’What in the world is that brick in his hand?’

’A Divine Artifact?’

In an instant, Yang Jian guessed the truth. The ordinary-looking brick in Long Ao’s hand was actually an incredibly powerful Divine Artifact. As a Divine Dao Martial Artist in his past life, how could he not recognize a Divine Artifact?

’At my Peak, I wouldn’t have feared it at all, but things are different now. My opponent is already a Peak Semi-Saint, and with that powerful Divine Artifact, he can completely rival a Saint. If I’m not careful, I could die here for nothing!’

For this reason, Yang Jian didn’t dare to be the least bit careless. At this moment, Yang Feng, who had been wavering and unsure whether to intervene, suddenly charged forward to attack.

This battle had started with them ganging up on him, then became a series of one-on-one fights, and now it had devolved into two-on-one. One had to admit, the Sacred Land had reached the pinnacle of shamelessness. Even if they won this fight, the Sacred Land’s reputation would be utterly ruined.

But things had already come to this, so Yang Jian and Yang Feng could no longer be concerned with anything else.

The two Saints joined forces against Long Ao alone, but he showed not a hint of fear. Wielding the brick, he charged forward, smashing left and right, and instantly engaged the two Saints in a fierce battle.

Smashing wildly with his brick, he fought one against two.

In this battle, Long Ao had become a War God in the eyes of all. Long Ao, the War God. Whether he lived or died in this fight, the name "Long Ao, the War God" would spread across the countless islands of the Outer Sea.

To slay four Saints by himself and then single-handedly fight two more who had joined forces—in all the world, how many people could accomplish such a feat?

Long Ao fought one against two, facing Yang Jian and Yang Feng alone. The battle between the three was world-shaking. They fought from the ground up to the Nine Heavens and from the Nine Heavens back down to the ground. Back and forth they went, the battle between them constantly escalating.

Neither Yang Jian nor Yang Feng dared to touch the brick in Long Ao’s hand. As for Yang Jian’s shattered arms, they had already mended in an instant. After all, a mere fracture was a trivial matter for a Saint. Even so, Yang Jian was now keenly aware of the formidable power of the brick in Long Ao’s hand.
