Chapter 532: Chapter 532: A Fine Line Between Life and Death

Dragon Seal Space.

Long Ao had just left when, within the Blood Pool, the form of the Ancient Divine Dragon suddenly materialized.

Its vast, spectral form swirled as the Ancient Divine Dragon’s majestic voice suddenly rang out.

"Old Master, was it right for us to do this?"

"Long Ao’s progress is too slow. At this rate, I can no longer afford to wait."

As it turned out, the only reason the Beast Tide had broken through the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths Slaughter Array was because of the Ancient Divine Dragon’s sudden intervention. Otherwise, it would not have been an easy feat for the beasts.

The Ancient Divine Dragon’s intention was simple: it wanted to accelerate Long Ao’s development.

If Long Ao were to find out, he wouldn’t know whether to laugh or cry. After all, while the Ancient Divine Dragon was acting for its own sake, it was also acting for his. But in doing so, it had inadvertently brought disaster upon Kyushu.

"Old Master, even if the Master obtains that treasure now, it will be useless. If that’s the case, why not wait a few more years? Once his Cultivation breaks through to the Great Emperor Realm, obtaining this treasure then would allow him to unleash its greatest power."

"I can no longer concern myself with such things. Success or failure will depend on Long Ao’s own destiny."

Long Ao remained completely in the dark about all this. He assumed the Beast Tide had broken through the array only because the Four Great Forces were each plotting for their own gain.

On high alert, Long Ao cautiously made his way toward the Beast Tide Forbidden Land.

Countless beasts from the tide had flooded into Kyushu, yet now, not a single Spirit Beast could be seen in the Kyushu Forbidden Land.

「Kyushu」

News of the Beast Tide’s rampage spread like wildfire throughout the Kyushu Spirit Realm and the Ordinary Spirit Realm. All who heard it were utterly horrified.

Before the smaller powers in the Kyushu Spirit Realm could even react, an endless horde of Spirit Beasts had already swarmed in, slaughtering everyone on sight without a shred of mercy.

The Four Great Forces.

Eastern Emperor City, the West Third Level Long Family, the Southern Netherworld Mansion, and the North Piaomiao Palace cared nothing for the survival of the other powers. Beyond securing their own Sects, they also relocated their respective cities with the greatest possible speed.

Only then was the true, hidden might of the Four Great Forces revealed.

Semi-Saint Martial Artists and Saint Warriors were all mobilized. Furthermore, each of the Four Great Forces revealed their own Earth Saints, and even Celestial Saints made an appearance. As such, it would be no easy task for the Beast Tide to breach their defenses.

The Four Great Forces were safe, but the smaller powers were not so fortunate.

Some fled, others hid. But even so, many great families and Sects were still swallowed by the Beast Tide. Ordinary people, in particular, had no strength to resist the terrifying onslaught and were utterly consumed.

Word of the events in the Kyushu Spirit Realm soon reached the Ordinary Spirit Realm.

In Kyushu, Celestial State, Di Zhou, Rizhou, Yuezhou, Sunset State, Yunzhou, Chizhou, Illusion State, and Heilin State, all the local powers were scared witless. And as they began cursing the Four Great Forces, the continent of Kyushu itself was plunged into utter chaos.

Who wouldn’t be terrified by the prospect of annihilation?

No one in Kyushu knew what to do. The Beast Tide was simply too terrifying; even the Four Great Forces didn’t dare to confront it head-on.

According to reliable sources, the Beast Tide would last for ten whole days. But given its terrifying power, forget ten days—even three would be enough to destroy the entire continent of Kyushu.

Everyone across Kyushu was at a loss. According to the latest reports, the Kyushu Spirit Realm had already been all but devoured by the Beast Tide. They believed it would spread to the Ordinary Spirit Realm within a day at most. When that happened, the land would be devastated, rivers of blood would flow, and the fields would be littered with corpses.

Everyone was terrified, simply waiting for death to claim them.

「Dragon Sect, Main Hall」

Everyone had received a message from the Sect Leader confirming the news about the Beast Tide. His instructions, on behalf of Long Ao, were to immediately lead all the powers of Kyushu to negotiate with the Four Great Forces. They were to request the sealing of the transportation portals, which would spare the Ordinary Spirit Realm from the Beast Tide’s invasion.

Ghost King Ao Tian’s expression was incredibly grim. "I’m sure everyone understands the situation by now," he said. "The Sect Leader has just sent word. He wants us to unite the powers of Kyushu, approach the Four Great Forces, and have them seal the transportation portals. What are your thoughts?"

Everyone shrugged helplessly. ’Since the Sect Leader has spoken, can we really disobey?’

"Since the Sect Leader has commanded it, we must contact the other powers of Kyushu at once and present this matter to the Four Great Forces."

Ghost King Ao Tian’s face was extremely solemn. He waved his hand dismissively and sighed. "It’s not as simple as that. If the Four Great Forces were willing, they would have already sealed the transportation portals."

Before anyone could respond, Ao Tian continued, "Contacting the powers of Kyushu will take time. Even if the Four Great Forces agree, it will likely be too late. At its current speed, the Beast Tide will reach the continent proper by tomorrow."

No one refuted Ghost King Ao Tian, because he was right. At the thought of the Beast Tide about to pour into Kyushu, everyone’s expression grew even more grim.

The reports they had received about the Beast Tide were simply horrifying.

"That may be true, but the Sect Leader has given an order, and we must obey."

"Absolutely. No matter what, we cannot let anything happen to Kyushu."

Before Ghost King Ao Tian could finish, a heaven-shaking roar suddenly erupted from outside, making him and the others jump in alarm.

A moment later, a Dragon Sect disciple rushed in, announcing breathlessly, "All the powers of Kyushu have gathered at our gates! They’re begging our Sect to help them survive this disaster!"

Hearing this, everyone’s expression brightened. With all the powers of Kyushu gathered at the Dragon Sect, it would save them a great deal of trouble and time. Now, Kyushu had a fighting chance.

It all came down to one thing: if the Four Great Forces sealed the transportation portals, the Beast Tide would be unable to enter Kyushu. The continent would be safe.

The intelligence Long Ao had sent back was very clear: the Beast Tide would only last for ten days. Once that time was up, it would automatically retreat. Therefore, surviving these next few days was of the utmost importance.

The very survival of Kyushu was at stake.

With all the powers of Kyushu gathered at the Dragon Sect, Ghost King Ao Tian didn’t hesitate. He immediately departed for the Kyushu Spirit Realm, hoping to convince the Four Great Forces to seal the transportation portals as quickly as possible.

While the Four Great Forces hadn’t concerned themselves with the transportation portals during the Beast Tide’s invasion, they ultimately didn’t want to see Kyushu fall. After all, the continent was the foundation of the Kyushu Spirit Realm. If it were destroyed, it would bring the Four Great Forces no benefit whatsoever.

Precisely for this reason, as soon as the Ghost King, leading the delegation from Kyushu, communicated their plea to the Four Great Forces, the great powers immediately sealed all transportation portals. With that, the Beast Tide was completely contained within the Kyushu Spirit Realm, unable to enter the Kyushu Continent. Only then could everyone on the continent finally breathe a true sigh of relief, having narrowly averted disaster.
