War God Long Ao

Chapter 466: Brutally Beating a Great Venerable

  • Next Chapter

Stubbornly refusing to see reason?

For some reason, looking at the young man before him, Fu Dongliu felt a flicker of fear.

He cursed himself inwardly. Fu Dongliu snorted coldly and said, "I'd like to see just how you'll deal with my 'stubborn' Cloud Sect."

As he spoke, Fu Dongliu shot forward. Before he even reached his target, he had already thrown a vicious palm strike.

But Long Ao remained perfectly still. Seeing this, Fu Dongliu grew furious. It was clear Long Ao held him in utter contempt.

As a Celestial Venerable Martial Artist, Fu Dongliu was completely confident he could obliterate his opponent with a single palm strike.

Yet, Long Ao didn't even twitch. He simply picked up his wine cup and took a light sip. Anyone who witnessed this would assume Long Ao held his opponent in utter contempt.

If anyone else in Yun City saw this, they would never believe it.

The Cloud Sect was the undisputed hegemon of Yun City. Who would dare to act so brazenly before them?

Long Ao was definitely the first.

The calmer Long Ao appeared, the more apprehensive Fu Dongliu became. His speed slackened until he came to a dead stop.

"Are you not afraid of death?"

Long Ao smiled faintly. "Of course I'm afraid of death," he said mildly. "But you can't kill me. So why should I be afraid?"

"I have to admit, you're incredibly arrogant. I'd love to know what gives you the right to be."

This time, Fu Dongliu wasted no more words, nor did he hesitate. He knew that even if he couldn't defeat this person, the two Elders would certainly intervene. 'Could this person possibly be a Great Venerable Martial Artist? Surely not.'

Long Ao was simply too young.

To have killed two Venerables at his age was already an unprecedented feat.

Long Ao remained motionless, sitting quietly. Just as Fu Dongliu reached him and threw a punch with both fists, an unstoppable aura erupted from Long Ao.

Startled, Fu Dongliu saw he had no choice but to follow through with his attack.

The result was predictable. With a pained cry, Fu Dongliu's body was sent flying backward. If the two Great Venerables hadn't caught him, that single exchange would have been enough to severely injure him.

Fu Dongliu was still alive only because Long Ao had shown mercy. Otherwise, given the disparity in their power, Long Ao could have killed him instantly.

But as he'd decided before, unless absolutely necessary, Long Ao didn't want a life-and-death struggle with the Cloud Sect.

"You…"

"I already told you I was giving you a chance. I hope you take it. Otherwise, the Cloud Sect will be annihilated."

If Long Ao had said this moments ago, Fu Dongliu would have never believed him. But now, having been defeated in a single move, he had no choice but to accept the truth, no matter how unwilling he was.

"Who in the world are you?"

"I've already told you, who I am isn't important. What's important is that I've given the Cloud Sect its chance. I hope you'll take it. Otherwise, there is only one possible fate for the Cloud Sect."

Though he'd finished speaking, his implied threat was perfectly clear.

"You're not leaving here today."

As Fu Dongliu spoke, the two Great Venerables behind him finally prepared to make their move. Within the Eight Realms of Void, above the Celestial Venerable Realm are the Great Venerable, Realm King, and Realm Emperor Realms.

These two Great Venerables were the strongest experts in the Cloud Sect. Because of this, Fu Dongliu was utterly confident. Even if their opponent was also a Great Venerable, he would surely die fighting one against two.

Fu Dongliu never even considered the possibility that Long Ao could be a Realm King or a Realm Emperor.

The mere fact that his opponent was a Great Venerable had already been a huge blow to Fu Dongliu. After all, the young man's age was plain to see. A Great Venerable Martial Artist this young had to be from a super-faction like the Long Clan. An ordinary sect could never produce such a peerless talent.

In fact, Fu Dongliu had already guessed his opponent was likely a disciple from a super-faction. Otherwise, he wouldn't be so powerful or so fearless.

And for that very reason, Fu Dongliu was all the more desperate to kill Long Ao. If his guess was correct, letting him live would only lead to even greater trouble.

"So stubborn."

"Kill him."

Killing intent flashed in Fu Dongliu's eyes. Suppressing his internal injuries, he stared coldly at the young man across from him. 'I refuse to believe he can fight one against two,' he thought. 'There's no way he can defeat both Elders. If he can, I'd rather kill myself than accept it as reality!'

The two Great Venerables didn't take their opponent seriously. They were certain he was a genuine Great Venerable Martial Artist—otherwise, it would have been impossible for him to defeat their Sect Leader in a single move.

It was common knowledge that the Sect Leader of the Cloud Sect was a Peak of Celestial Venerable Martial Artist. No one in the Celestial Venerable Realm could hope to defeat him, let alone in a single move. Only a Great Venerable Martial Artist could accomplish that.

There was no more need for words. The two Great Venerables knew that if they didn't kill their opponent quickly, the Cloud Sect would be utterly disgraced.

But what the two Great Venerables never expected was that before they could even make a move, Long Ao attacked first.

Originally, Long Ao had no intention of fighting the Cloud Sect to the death. According to the Snake Emperor's strategy, they were to bring all the powers of Kyushu under the Dragon Sect's banner. As the most powerful force in Yunzhou, the Cloud Sect was a top priority for the Dragon Sect's expansion.

But now, it seemed the Cloud Sect wouldn't let the matter rest. Long Ao had never imagined that the arrogant young master he'd just killed would turn out to be the son of the Cloud Sect's Sect Leader.

Now that things had come to this, there were only two solutions.

The first was to slaughter the entire Cloud Sect, but that would greatly hinder the Dragon Sect's efforts to consolidate its power in Kyushu.

The second was to let his fists do the talking and beat the Cloud Sect into submission.

Of the two options, Long Ao chose the latter. For that reason, he gave the two Great Venerables no chance to react or retaliate. He smashed out with his Divine Dragon Arm.

Long Ao controlled his strength perfectly. He didn't try to kill the two Great Venerables, he just pummeled them relentlessly. One punch after another landed, fist to flesh. A cacophony of pained screams erupted. In just a few seconds, the two Great Venerables' faces were once again swollen like pigs' heads.

Watching the young man brutally beat his two Elders, Fu Dongliu was completely dumbfounded. He couldn't process what was happening.

"Stop!"

Completely ignoring Fu Dongliu, Long Ao continued his relentless assault. As if he had grown a bit tired of the beating, he finally stopped. He took Ao Xue's hand and said, "I hope the Cloud Sect behaves from now on. Otherwise, I will personally pay your sect a visit."

Watching the man and woman leave, Fu Dongliu asked with dread in his voice, "Who exactly are you?"

"Long Ao."

Long Ao didn't linger. He quickly led Ao Xue away, and in a moment, they had vanished without a trace.
