Chapter 3619: Setting Up The Workstation
Chapter 3619: Setting Up The Workstation
The voice echoed within his mind, deep and ancient, carrying with it the weight of time itself.
Lin Mu’s eyes widened slightly as the Litany of Verdant Forests activated within his soul, resonating with the presence that had just spoken.
There was no confusion.
No doubt.
"Are you the tree?" Lin Mu asked.
A moment passed.
Then the answer came.
"Indeed... I am... the Heart Tree."
The voice was slow, deliberate, as if each word carried effort, yet its clarity was undeniable.
Lin Mu steadied himself quickly.
He had interacted with many powerful beings before, but this was different. This was not a beast, nor a cultivator, nor even a spirit in the conventional sense. This was the very entity that sustained the entire sanctuary.
Its awareness extended through every branch, every root, every leaf.
It was the forest.
Lin Mu did not waste the opportunity.
"Do you know what I wish to do here?" he asked.
The response came without hesitation.
"Yes... Help... My children..."
Lin Mu felt a faint shift in his thoughts.
The foxkin.
They were not merely inhabitants of this place.
They were its children.
A deeper connection existed here than he had initially realized.
"Will you assist me?" Lin Mu asked.
There was a pause.
Not hesitation.
But something closer to contemplation.
Then...
"You will... Get it."
The agreement was given.
The Heart Tree’s voice softened slightly.
"I have... Long since watched... them... seen them... lose their blessing... of offspring... long have I... yearned."
Lin Mu’s expression grew more serious.
"I wish to resolve it for them," he said. "Or at least attempt to."
"I shall... do it... with all my... strength."
Lin Mu allowed himself a faint smile.
"Good. Then let us begin."
With that, the nature energy he had extended began to shift.
The wooden floor beneath him responded instantly.
It grew.
Expanded.
Rose upward in smooth, controlled motions, forming the cylindrical chamber that now stood before him. The walls thickened, layers intertwining to create a structure that was both sturdy and responsive. It was not dead material shaped into form.
It was living architecture.
Once the physical structure was complete, Lin Mu summoned his Rune Shaping Brush Dao Embryo.
SHUA
The brush appeared in his hand, its tip glowing faintly as it connected with his intent. Without delay, he began inscribing runes upon the surface of the cylinder.
Each stroke was precise.
Each symbol layered upon the previous in careful sequence.
He created formations for isolation, ensuring that any reaction within would remain contained. He added channeling arrays to direct the flow of energy with exact precision. Venting formations were integrated to release excess pressure or unstable energy before it could cause damage.
At the core of it all, he established a central control array.
A system that unified all the individual components into a single, coherent structure.
But he did not stop there.
From the sides of the cylinder, he extended hollow vines, shaping them into conduits that connected to two additional chambers. These smaller containers were crafted with equal care, each one designed to store and regulate a specific type of energy.
One was designated for Nature Energy.
The other for Beast Qi.
Containment arrays were inscribed within both, ensuring stability and preventing leakage. Lin Mu adjusted their internal capacity, balancing them carefully against the main chamber to ensure that neither energy would overwhelm the system.
Finally, he linked everything together.
The entire construct became a single array, its structure settling into a stable and responsive whole.
The process took three days.
Lin Mu did not rush it.
This would be the foundation of all his future experiments. Any flaw here would compromise everything that followed.
When it was finally complete, Lin Mu stepped back and observed it.
A faint sense of satisfaction rose within him. It worked as intended.
"This will suffice," he said quietly.
With the preparation complete, Lin Mu moved to the next stage.
He selected one of the refined bloodline essence lumps.
It was soft.
Spongy.
Carrying within it the concentrated essence of a foxkin lineage.
With a controlled motion, he placed it within the central cylinder.
The moment it entered, the arrays activated.
The lump rose into the air, suspended at the center of the chamber. Gentle streams of energy stabilized its position, ensuring it remained perfectly balanced.
Lin Mu then turned toward the first auxiliary container.
He extended his hand, channeling Nature Energy into it.
Most of it did not come from him.
The Heart Tree responded.
Its vast reserves of energy flowed seamlessly into the chamber, filling the container with a steady, controlled current. Lin Mu only added a small portion of his own Qi, enough to establish control and ensure compatibility with his arrays.
The container glowed faintly as it reached its intended capacity.
Lin Mu nodded.
Then, he turned to the second container.
This time, he began chanting the Nurturing Heart Sutra of the Beast Path.
The Immortal Qi within his body shifted.
Changed.
Transformed.
Its nature became denser, more primal, carrying the essence of life that resonated deeply with bloodlines.
Beast Qi.
It emerged from his body in steady streams, flowing into the second container through the vine conduits. Unlike the Nature Energy, this came entirely from Lin Mu himself. The quality was high, refined through his cultivation and tempered by his control.
The container filled gradually though it was quite a bit of work to fill it up enough to turn it liquid, as without the containment arrays it would not have changed its state. And it took quite a bit of Lin Mu’s immortal qi too, as by the time he finished filling the container, he had drained ten percent of all his immortal qi.
After that was done the container’s internal arrays activated, stabilizing the energy and preventing any fluctuations.
Lin Mu maintained the process until both containers reached equilibrium.
Then he stopped.
The chamber stood ready.
At the center, the bloodline essence floated silently.
On one side, Nature Energy pulsed gently.
On the other, Beast Qi flowed with quiet intensity.
Lin Mu took a slow breath.
"This is where it begins," he said.
His eyes sharpened as he raised his hand slightly, preparing to initiate the first interaction between the energies and the essence.
The experiment had begun.
And with it...
The first step toward altering a Bloodline Shackle.
