Chapter 3453: Claiming Their Winnings
Chapter 3453: Claiming Their Winnings
Lin Mu worked methodically.
He copied everything.
Not onto paper, not just into a jade slip, but into his own mind as well.
He created a complete mental map of the Lapis Link Body Array Totemic Art, from the shallowest surface line to the deepest marrow bound rune.
It took him several hours.
During that time, Blueback did not move. He did not complain. He did not rush.
He knew that what Lin Mu was doing was not something that could be repeated easily.
Finally, Lin Mu exhaled slowly and withdrew his immortal sense.
"It is done," he said.
Blueback turned his head slightly. "You copied all of it?"
"Yes," Lin Mu replied. "As much as my current comprehension allows."
Daoist Chu looked impressed. "That would take most formation masters years."
Lin Mu shook his head. "I still do not understand all of it. But now, I can study it at my own pace."
He looked at Blueback. "This technique is incomplete. But it is not a dead end. It is a bridge that stops halfway."
Blueback smiled faintly. "That is exactly how it feels to use it."
Lin Mu took out a communication jade slip and handed it to him to get the communication signature. "This is mine. If I find a way forward, I will inform you."
Blueback accepted it with both hands and registered it in his own jade slip, his expression sincere. "Thank you. Even if nothing comes of it, just knowing someone else understands what I carry... that is already enough."
Meng Bai looked between them. "Senior Blueback, if Master really finishes it... would you walk that new path?"
Blueback’s eyes burned with quiet determination. "I would walk it even if it led through hell."
Cattaleya cracked her knuckles. "As long as it does not lead through boredom."
Everyone chuckled.
The healers soon came to remind them that Blueback still needed rest.
With that, Lin Mu and his companions prepared to leave.
Lin Mu gave Blueback a final nod. "Recover well."
Blueback smiled. "I will be waiting."
They walked out of the healer hall together.
Sunlight greeted them again, warm and calm, as if nothing world shaking had happened in the stadium just days ago.
But Lin Mu knew better.
In his mind, glowing blue lines had already begun to rearrange themselves.
Leaving the Healer Hall, Lin Mu and the others decided to go to the Betting Pavillion to get their winnings. While Elyon and Daoist Chu had already gotten their winnings, Lin Mu and Catt were yet to get their own.
After all, only the person who placed the bet could collect it for security reasons.
The Betting Pavilion was louder than most markets.
Shouts of joy, groans of despair, laughter, curses, and drunken boasting all mixed together under one massive roof. Jade lanterns floated in the air, glowing softly while recording arrays displayed odds, past matches, and final results from the Great Martial Fist King Tournament.
As Lin Mu and the others entered, a strange hush followed them for half a breath.
Then everything exploded.
"DAOIST LIN MU!"
"ONE PUNCH MAN!"
"CHAMPION!"
"ONE FLICK WOMAN!"
"MASTER CATT!"
People surged forward, but guards rushed in immediately, forming lines of defense. The Betting Pavilion had already been warned that these people would arrive today, and they had prepared for it.
A high ranked manager hurried forward, his face glowing with forced calm and hidden pain.
"Honored guests, honored guests, this way please. Your winnings are already prepared."
Daoist Chu leaned toward Lin Mu and whispered, "Look at his eyes. He is dying inside."
Lin Mu glanced at the manager’s clenched hands and faintly pale face and nodded. "I can see that."
They were led into a private counting hall.
Stacks upon stacks of storage chests waited inside, each sealed with verification arrays. Formation masters stood nearby, checking seals, numbers, and identity tokens.
The manager bowed deeply. "Daoist Lin Mu, your winnings from the finals, semifinals, and long streak wagers have all been consolidated. Please verify."
Lin Mu extended his immortal sense.
He did not need to open a single chest.
In one sweep, he counted everything.
"112,642,121 High Grade Immortal Stones," he said calmly.
Every formation master in the room stiffened.
The manager swallowed. "Correct. Exactly correct."
Cattaleya leaned over. "Count mine too."
Lin Mu swept his sense again. "58,114,783 High Grade Immortal Stones."
Cattaleya nodded. "Good enough. Dump it in my ring."
Elyon almost fainted. "You people are monsters. That much money could buy three kingdoms."
Daoist Chu laughed. "Correction. It could buy three weak kingdoms."
Elyon stared at his own winnings, around twenty million, and suddenly felt very poor.
The manager personally handed over the transfer seals for their storage rings. When everything was done, he bowed again, this time even lower.
"Congratulations, honored guests. Please... please remember the Betting Pavilion kindly."
Daoist Chu patted him on the shoulder. "You will survive. Probably."
They left quickly before the crowd outside could become unmanageable.
Fans shouted their names, some tried to throw flowers, some threw jade slips asking for signatures, and one brave soul even tried to propose marriage to Cattaleya before being ’gently’ removed by guards.
Four hours still remained before the banquet.
So they went to the Reward Pavilion.
This place was calmer, but no less magnificent. Massive jade boards listed rewards, prices in merit points, and limited items marked with glowing seals.
Cattaleya walked in and immediately lost interest in almost everything.
She pointed at a stack of Immortal Essence Crystals. "Convert all my points into those."
The staff froze. "All... all of them?"
"Yes," she said lazily. "I punch better when I am rich and have energy to back it up."
The staff quickly obeyed.
Lin Mu, on the other hand, walked slowly along the displays, eyes sharp.
He went straight for elemental materials.
Water crystals.
Ocean marrow stones.
Tide heart pearls.
Rainfall essence cores.
His water core was already at ninety eight percent.
Every new material pushed it closer to completion.
Then he saw it.
A sphere the size of a human head floated inside a layered containment field. Inside it swirled deep blue light mixed with faint golden threads.
