Chapter 3440: Blueback’s Level Of Three Apertures Invoking Technique
Lin Mu met each strike head on.
Block. Deflect. Counter.
Their fists collided again and again, each impact ringing like a massive bell struck by a titan.
CLANG.
CLANG.
CLANG.
The arena shook.
Spectators could no longer follow the movements clearly. They saw only flashes of blue and yellow light, afterimages of fists and limbs colliding faster than ordinary perception.
Blueback grunted as he took a punch to the chest, his array flaring as it absorbed and redistributed the force. He staggered back, then surged forward again, muscles bulging as the totemic art reinforced him further.
Lin Mu remained calm.
Even when Blueback landed a solid blow to his shoulder, enough to crack the ground beneath Lin Mu’s feet, Lin Mu’s body showed no sign of injury. The Burdenless Dominator Physique adapted instantly, dispersing force across his entire structure.
Blueback’s eyes widened.
"You are not just enduring this," he said between strikes. "Your body is evolving mid combat."
Lin Mu smiled. "You can say that."
They clashed again, fists meeting in midair.
The shockwave blasted outward, rattling protective arrays and forcing several elders to reinforce the barriers.
Blueback leapt back, breathing heavily, blue lines pulsing brighter than ever. Despite the regeneration, strain showed in his eyes.
"What technique is that?" he demanded. "No array. No visible circulation method. Yet your body is beyond mine."
Lin Mu lowered his fists slightly, relaxed.
"It is not a technique," he replied. "It is a physique."
Blueback stared, then laughed incredulously. "You created it?"
"Yes."
Silence fell for a heartbeat.
Then Blueback threw his head back and laughed louder than before. "Then it seems we are both monsters built by obsession."
Lin Mu nodded. "Secrets layered upon secrets."
Blueback’s stance shifted again, his aura climbing further. "Then let us see whose secrets run deeper."
The blue array lines across his body pulsed violently as he prepared another surge.
Lin Mu’s eyes gleamed.
"I will be learning yours soon enough," he said calmly.
The crowd held its breath as the two titans faced each other, power building to levels that made even seasoned immortals uneasy.
The true clash had only just begun.
Blueback continued to build momentum as his power continued to grow.
The audience watched in stunned silence as his aura climbed higher and higher, swelling like a rising tide that refused to stop. The air itself felt heavier, as if the world was bending under the pressure of his presence. Even experienced immortals in the stands felt a tightness in their chests.
"Heavens! His aura is already as strong as a peak Seventh Tribulation Stage Immortal!" someone in the audience shouted in disbelief.
Another voice followed quickly. "Then why is Lin Mu not doing anything to stop him? He is just standing there!"
More and more people began to murmur, confusion spreading through the crowd like ripples across water. To them, Lin Mu appeared almost careless, standing calmly while his opponent continued to grow more terrifying with every passing breath. Some even began to wonder if Lin Mu had underestimated his foe.
But Lin Mu was far from idle.
Though his body looked still, his immortal sense was working at full capacity. His refined perception slipped through layers of flesh, essence, and energy, observing every single change happening within Blueback’s body.
He could see the flow of vitality through veins and muscles, the pulsing rhythm of the heart, and more importantly, the immense streams of Immortal Essence being drawn from the Three Apertures and guided directly into the Totemic Art.
Lin Mu’s eyes narrowed slightly as he analyzed the structure of Blueback’s cultivation.
He saw clearly that Blueback had perfected the Three Apertures Invoking Technique to an astonishing degree. The amount of Immortal Essence stored within those apertures was staggering.
"This is greater than even me... at least three times as great," Lin Mu thought with genuine surprise. There were very few cultivators who could rival him in terms of stored Immortal Essence, and yet Blueback stood among that rare group.
Of course, Lin Mu knew that his own Immortal Qi reserves were even greater, but that was due to his extraordinary Dantian.
His Dantian was far beyond the limits of ordinary immortals, and it continued to grow in a way that even Xukong could not fully explain. Even Xukong often expressed confusion at how Lin Mu’s Dantian could expand endlessly without collapsing.
Still, this encounter was incredibly valuable to Lin Mu.
Observing another cultivator who had mastered the Three Apertures Invoking Technique allowed him to reflect on his own path. Until now, he had advanced largely through trial and error. Managing an ever growing amount of Immortal Essence was not simple, and every mistake could be fatal.
Now, seeing a completed version of the technique in action gave him a reference point, a living template of how the apertures were meant to function at their peak.
The three apertures appeared in Lin Mu’s perception like three massive vortexes. They were connected by multiple streams of energy, forming a complex yet elegant structure. If one simplified it, it resembled three circles connected by two straight lines, linking each circle together. Then two additional curved lines connected the top and bottom circles from the sides, creating a fully linked system.
In this configuration, all three apertures worked as one. Immortal Essence flowed freely between them, circulating smoothly and without obstruction.
However, Lin Mu also knew that this was not the true peak of the technique. The real final stage was known as the Aperture Closing Stage. In that stage, all apertures would close simultaneously, forcing all stored Immortal Essence to fuse completely into the cultivator’s body.
This was the most dangerous step and the greatest bottleneck.
Lin Mu had read countless records about this stage. Nearly ninety nine percent of body cultivators failed at this point. The price of failure was not merely injury, but death. Their bodies could not endure the sudden and overwhelming infusion of essence, and they would literally explode from within.
But Blueback seemed to have bypassed this danger entirely.
