Chapter 338 - Falling In Love Early
The term love is a distraction was somewhat validated at this moment. This wasn't the first time these two had been absorbed in giving each other googly eyes leading them to a much worse situation.
Being the oldest between them Ji Yao regained his composure first with his intense gaze fixed on this creature that kept growing like it was on steroids. He stood tall with his sword at his side thoughts unknown.
His jet black hair was blown by the wind as the dust rose from the creature expanding. In the face of danger, his expression remained unchanged giving off a valorous disposition that made this cub almost scream like a brainless fangirl.
Only that this fangirl wanted to push down the hero and pin him down then proceed to defile and mark him all night long. Forgive Rui Fei for his filthy thoughts especially in this dangerous situation. He was a hot-blooded teen with pent up feelings down south and faced with the one he likes his thoughts couldn't help but go astray.
Having been ignored by Ji Yao he couldn't bear to disturb his thought process. He just stood next to him waiting for Ji Yao to make the first move or at least tell him what to do. That is to say in Ji Yao's presence Rui Fei would never make the first move. He made sure to listen to his wife.
Without looking his way Ji Yao asked, "How did you torment it before?"
Rui Fei turned to look at that gorgeous side profile with a few hair strands brushing against the pale cheeks with a slight tint of pink.
He stared at him with a gaze so intense that it could have anyone's heart trembling.
The fondness in those sparkly eyes was unmistakable. He wanted to reach out and pull back Ji Yao's hair, tuck it behind his ears and turn his face before kissing him passionately amid the chaos.
This can be understood as it is a known fact that adrenaline affects arousal and attraction. At moments of heightened anxiety that feeling of excitement and fear can evolve into arousal and sexual attraction. To top it all off Rui Fei already harboured impure thoughts towards Ji Yao so.... yep.
Clutching the side of his robe he calmed his tumultuous feelings and cleared his throat before saying, "The eyes on the bodies of the creatures are a part of it so I... I um, I gouged them out and tor-tortured it."
Ji Yao who had been facing front suddenly turned to look at him with a raised brow. How Rui Fei even found out about that weakness he had no idea. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing to fall in love early after all. They were both unique individuals that brought different outtakes to the table.
In this situation, he smiled and said, "Fei-er is so smart."
Rui Fei who had been praised tried to suppress a smile but there was still a slight quaver in his lips as he gulped down his emotions. Though he sort of hid it well internally he was a mess.
He was like an animated character with pink bubbles floating around his blushing face while shyly playing with his hands. The only thing missing was him saying, "Oh please stop," with a coquettish tone.
Before Ji Yao could even think of using this method to their advantage, the Aoyin creature that had grievously suffered once couldn't wrong itself twice.
With a bellow its directly ballistic scream it blew up its minions tearing them flesh to flesh till there was nothing left. Soon after performing such a cruel heartless act, it turned its gaze to the two with an unnoticeable air of smugness.
"Okay, it seems we can't use that method anymore," said Rui Fei as he watched the dust settle where the Aoyin creature had just attacked.
" We have no choice but to take a direct approach. I will divert its attention and you find a way to cut that keystone out," he said before running a few steps forward and leaping into the air with his sword extending to its whip state.
A cosmic electric hell flame struck the creature's skull as the tip of that whip sword made contact. But because the creature had set up a circle of defence around its body there was backlash causing the two to stagger backwards a little.
Ji Yao steadied himself in the air as his seraphic energy seeped out of his body surrounding him. He gritted his teeth having suffered a strain on his arm when the two forces clashed. The Aoyin creature bellowed at him in displeasure as it also had suffered a loss in that exchange.
A smug smile appeared on Ji Yao's face as he glared at the creature with a menacing gaze. "Ha, it seems you aren't indestructible," he said before he dove down taking an offensive stance. The two clashed once more wreaking havoc in the sky. From Rui Fei's standpoint, these two seemed evenly matched.
At first, he was dissatisfied with Ji Yao's decision on how to go about this and he didn't even have enough time to complain because Ji Yao had already flown off to attack the creature. But since the situation was like this he could only obey.
While the two were facing off, Rui Fei darted a few feet before he leapt up to the creature's fur. The creature felt that something had attached itself to its fur. It couldn't understand how that was possible since it had a protective barrier surrounding it.
When it wanted to investigate, Ji Yao launched another attack preventing it from inquiring further. Rui Fei on the other hand was regretting choosing this method. His seraphic energy easily ate through that protective barrier like acid hence he could climb up the fur but the smell was so unbearable that he felt like what was going to kill him was the pungent odour.
How awful would it be for Ji Yao to find out he died from the stench? How embarrassing would that be? The smell stung his nose making his eyes teary. The stench was also dizzying making it hard for him to hold on. Closing his eyes he shook his head to regain lucidity before going through his storage to find something or anything that could help.
Lucky for him he found that strong-smelling ointment Ji Yao had given to him earlier to give to that boy. The smell was choking but it was far better than the vile smell wafting into his nose.
If he was to pick between the two the medicine was better. He generously smeared it on his nose and a contented expression showed on his face.
With a victorious smile, he looked up to the part of the Aoyin creature's body that was glowing brightly.
