Chapter 61: The End of the First Educational Tour (Vol 1 End)

18 July, Year 2550. The Island of Beasts, Beastriheim. Eastern Region, Wynthalor.

Right outside the glowing teleportation gate of the Wynthalor city, a massive crowd of students all gathered around the area. The instructors had suddenly called everyone together to finally pack up and depart from the region.

The tour was originally planned for a whole week, and everyone had expected to stay and enjoy the sights for a long time. However, due to the sudden city-wide crisis and the emergence of the Bishop, the practical examination was officially declared canceled. They had to pack their bags and leave immediately as soon as possible.

Since the students had already witnessed the chaos falling over the city and saw the massive losses suffered by the local people, they accepted the sudden change without a fuss. It wasn’t like complaining would change the instructors’ minds anyway.

Also, the World Association specifically granted the academy permission to use the VIP teleportation gate for transport. Many overconfident students had tried to play hero, attempting to fight the heretic monsters by themselves, and ended up getting injured. Since this whole disaster happened right under the World Association’s watch, the organization had to take responsibility for the incident. Giving the students safe and instant access back to their nation was their way of making up for the massive security failure.

The students gathered around the gate, buzzing with nervous energy and the lingering adrenaline of the recent chaos.

The six professors stood calmly in front of the swirling teleportation portal.

Professor Carasina, the youngest and fiercest of the group, stepped forward. Her expression was dead serious, looking as if she was ready to jump right back into a battlefield!

"Listen up, everyone! As all of you have probably heard by now, we are leaving this place, and the practical examination is canceled. Because of this, we will hold a theory examination worth double the points back at the academy to make up for this tour’s score."

A collective groan echoed through the crowd. The idea of taking a theory exam was already a massive pain in the a*s, and now they had to prepare for a test worth double the original points?

Professor Carasina’s sharp gaze swept through the complaining students, not giving a damn about their disappointed faces.

"You all just witnessed a sudden, brutal event! You saw the kind of chaos you will face in the future. This is the perfect situation to open your eyes and realize the truth. You do not live in some safe, fantasy world where you can just slack off, play games, and go on fun tours!"

Her voice grew louder, carrying over the wind.

"What you saw earlier was only a small-scale attack. According to the World Association, it barely reached the level of an A-rank threat. Do you even know what happens when a true S-rank threat appears?"

The complaining students fell into dead silent, hanging onto her every word. They all knew an S-rank threat meant a national disaster, but they had zero practical experience with it. Since today’s event was already way beyond their wildest expectations, the mere thought of an S-rank threat made them feel genuine dread.

"What do you think happens during an S-rank crisis? Does several Bishop attack from dark? Do the heretics just send a few more armies? No! It is much worse than that. Entire villages are wiped out. Bustling cities are destroyed in a single day. A whole region faces massive losses because it isn’t just a Bishop who shows up—it is an Archbishop, bringing several other Bishops along with them! Do you know how incredibly strong an Archbishop actually is?"

She looked through the tense crowd. The students knew exactly what an Archbishop was capable of doing. They hadn’t learned it from a simple textbook or school rumors; many of the noble families had ancestors or parents who had faced such monsters themselves. Escaping a fight with an Archbishop was nearly impossible. You either had to win, or you died trying.

"A single Archbishop can wipe out cities all by himself! He alone is enough to spread total destruction without even needing an army of Shrivens and Acolytes to back him up."

Carasina crossed her arms, her gaze softening just a fraction.

"So, remember this. You do not get to live a life of endless leisure just because you are safe under the academy’s protection right now. Know that one day, you will have to stand in our place to protect the people. You are all citizens of this nation, and you share the equal responsibility of defending it!"

The students nodded firmly at her words. She had successfully motivated the entire crowd. The tense, defeated expressions evaporated into thin air. The young Awakeners straightened their backs, making a new resolve within their own hearts.

Carasina nodded in approval, seeing that their spirits were fired up again.

"So, now that everyone is ready, we shall depart. Have your identification cards out and show them at the gate so we make sure no one is left behind. Let’s get moving!"

All the older professors stepped aside to let the students pass through the portal. They looked a bit helpless, realizing the youngest professor had effortlessly stolen the spotlight and motivated the entire crowd. Her image had just skyrocketed in the students’ eyes, which meant their own cool factor took a little dip. But seeing the students feeling so confident and energized, the older teachers smiled and accepted the outcome.

The crowd of students stepped forward, walking away from the ruined city and waving goodbye to Beastriheim. They hoped to explore the region again someday, hopefully without total chaos befalling the place.

As their crazy first tour finally came to an end, they stepped into the gate, eager to return to the academy and hoping to live a trouble-free student life. But with a walking trouble-magnet like Alden right beside them, living a peaceful life was just a fantasy!
